Complete Leveling Guide

🐺 HomeDiablo 4Guides – Complete Leveling Guide

Hey everyone! This is Librarian Husky. And now we’re gonna run through the guide of leveling in Diablo 4. This guide is not going to be a step-by-step guide. It’s going to be a guide which will help you to keep your eyes on principal things between a specific range of levels, like between ten and twenty, or between twenty and thirty.

The whole point of this guide is to help you not to miss important parts of the game while leveling and remove the probability of failure in between of your gaming process. So, for example, if you read this guide while at level forty and do as Husky said, you don’t have to go back or regret missed opportunities.

More details about where the game will lead throughout the levels

First off, Diablo 4 will take you down to Fractured Peak. This is the place where every champion starts his adventure in this game. Then the game will take you to Scosglen. After you go to Dry Steppes and afterwards you will get to Hawezar. And the last point on the map is Kehjistan. That is how the game will take you, more or less counterclockwise around the map.

What to do from level one to level ten

So here is the question – “what happens first?” Firstly you appear in Kyovashad and from level one to ten you need to pick up any boulders or bushes which you come across. Upgrading potions and gear is what you are going to do in the next ten levels.

What to do from level ten to level twenty

Between ten and twenty levels you have two options – to do priority quests (they are light blue in color) and open world content. Open world content is dungeons, sellers, events, etc. My advice is to do both. Priority quests will give you the opportunity to open world tier 3, unlock a Tree of Whispers, get your mount and much much more.

Open world content gives you Renown. You will get your power from open world content. So you need to do both. There is no right or wrong amount of doing priority or open world content. It’s a pretty balanced act. All you need is to enjoy whatever you get from Diablo 4, whether it’s open world(renown) or priority content.

What is Renown?

Renown is important for account progression. You can get tier three renown in each zone. Renown is retroactively applied after you get it done. It will give you bonuses – skill points, gold and potion capacity. If you push it, you can see your renown in the current zone. When you finish renown, for example, with five skill points – your second character will start with five skill points to spend at first level.

How to get your renown

If you open the map, you can see the “view rewards” button. Just finish strongholds, side quests, way-points, altars of Lilith, side dungeons and you can discover areas. For each mission you get renown. For example, finishing the stronghold will give you 100 renown.

Details about upgrading equipment

As soon as you get your levels, you can see blacksmith, jewelry and oculus. You can upgrade your equipment that came to mind there. You shouldn’t spare any resources on this, because the better your equipment, the faster you can get reagents and more equipment.

Events

If you see an orange area on the map, it means that there is an event nearby. You should go there. This event will give you a gambling currency, which is good for hyper focusing on specific pieces of gear. That means if you are missing one or two specific pieces of gear, gloves for example, you can go to a gambling merchant and try to gamble gloves from this merchant. This option will help you not to run around the whole world to find those gloves.

Dungeons for certain classes

Diablo 4 got dungeons designed for certain classes. You should go there too. You will get experience, gear, etc, which is good for your character.

From level twenty to level thirty

Alright. Now Librarian Husky will tell you what to do between twenty and thirty levels. Now you will go to Scosglen. There you can do renown activities while you are doing main storyline quests. After you finish Scosglen you get to Dry Steppes and do the same as in Scosglen. Nothing special.

From level thirty to level forty

Between thirty and forty you are heading to Hawezar. There you will get your mount from the stablemaster. You will get your mount in a pretty deep game. You don’t need to rush it. Just enjoy your game.

Legion events

Another thing you will be able to do is legion events. The legions will gather all over the map and you shall do them, because they will give you a lot of experience, like half of the level or maybe more and great equipment in ten minutes of farm.

From level forty to level forty five

From level forty to level forty – five, you have to focus on maximizing your build. You have to go to jewelry, blacksmith and oculus and upgrade your equipment to level three or even four. Also, you need to put relevant gems into your equipment. This is important because here begins the difficult part of the game – the final boss of the campaign.

From level forty five fo level fifty – Tree of Whispers

At levels from forty – five to fifty, right after when you finish the campaign, you open the Tree of Whispers. It is going to give you bounties which after finishing you will get rewards.
Reward is chosen between jewelry, equipment or materials for crafting.

Capstone dungeons

Another thing that unlocks at forty level five is your Capstone Dungeon. This dungeon is recommended for level fifty but you can try to struggle through this dungeon already at forty – five level. Or you can do more open world content to reach level fifty and then go to Capstone dungeon. When you open world tier three, you can go to the Capstone Dungeon.

Paragon board, sigils and nightmare dungeons

After level fifty you will open a paragon board. From now on, after each quarter of level you will get paragon points(four points per level). The second thing you need to know after level fifty is that you stop getting useful items and a good rate of experience. From now on you need to go to world tier three. There you will get more powerful items such as legendary and sacred legendary.

After entering world tier three, you will be able to use nightmare sigils. These sigils are the keys to nightmare dungeons. The higher the number or sigil, the harder the nightmare dungeon, the more useful gear is dropped from it. Also, these dungeons are dropping glyphs which you can put into paragon board.

Hell tied zones

The third thing which opens at level fifty is hell tied zones(red area on the map that appears for an hour every two hours). Mobs in these zones drop a new currency – cinders. Cinders can be used to open a specified chest. You have to avoid deaths in hell-tied zones because you drop half of your current cinders.

World bosses

World bosses appear in zones with timers. You need to go to that zone and kill the boss.

Level sixty

At sixty level you get another potion upgrade.

From level seventy to level hundred

At seventy level you have enough to get into the world level four. In between seventy to hundred levels you do the same things – farming capstone dungeons, killing world bosses and farming hell-tied zones with a chance to give you more powerful equipment that you’ve had.
