Introduction and Overview
What is up guys? Today we are going to be updating the tier list. Since our last update, we’ve received multiple balance tunings which have changed the meta. More importantly, the 11.2.5 mid patch has rolled in, and this along with Blizzard’s heavy investment into Midnight means it’s the perfect time to refresh the rankings. I don’t think the meta will change much from this point on, and this list might stay relevant until the end of the season.
About the Author and Methodology
I have been getting my hands dirty this season. I’m Adrian, an Elemental Shaman main who decided to push the title instead of being a casual player. Currently sitting at 3,500 IO, I have played with every single spec in the game in the +15 to +18 key range. This list is meant for mid to high-level keys. I’ve also spent hours reviewing parses, analyzing VODs, and consulting experienced players to make this tier list as accurate and unbiased as possible.
Tanks Tier Overview
We’ll start with tanks, then move on to DPS, and finish with healers. These rankings are based on performance, survivability, utility, and overall contribution to completing keys efficiently within the +15 to +18 range.
Blood Death Knight (BDK)
Nothing much has changed for BDK since mid patch. It suffers from design issues as its tanking is based on self-sustain instead of mitigation. This causes struggles in higher keys during large pulls and against tank busters. However, it retains useful DK utility like AMZ, AMS, and grips. Damage is mid-tier, so it earns a solid B tier placement.
Vengeance Demon Hunter (VDH)
BDH has declined but remains strong in mob control. While defensively weaker than before and the lowest damage tank overall, it excels at control and offers a valuable raid buff. It belongs in A tier for its reliable utility and group synergy.
Guardian Druid (Bear)
Bear sits at the bottom of A tier. Despite low single-target damage and limited control, its utility—including the powerful versatility buff, vortex, and off-healing—makes it more valuable than BDK. It fits the meta better and synergizes well with certain healer setups.
Brewmaster Monk
Brewmaster remains consistent, offering great survivability and second-highest tank damage in the game. With balanced control and solid monk utility, it performs well across all dungeons. It’s placed in A+ tier for strong reliability and group contribution.
Protection Warrior and Protection Paladin
Both specs dominate the tank meta in S tier. Prot Warrior stands out as the tankiest and highest damage dealer, excelling in mob control with AOE interrupts and stuns. Prot Paladin matches this level due to its powerful externals, interrupts, and support for squishy DPS. Together, they define the top tier of tank play.

DPS Tier Overview
Next, we’ll cover the DPS specializations, ranking them by overall output, utility, survivability, and consistency in the +15 to +18 key range.
Frost Death Knight
The biggest surprise of the update, Frost DK firmly holds S tier. Despite a minor nerf, its survivability, grips, AMS utility, and consistent damage profile make it exceptional. It performs strongly in every scenario, excelling in AOE, single target, and cleave.
Unholy Death Knight
Unholy remains powerful but slightly overshadowed by Frost. It has similar survivability and utility but less prio damage. It still performs well in high keys and sits in upper A tier.
Havoc Demon Hunter
Previously S tier, Havoc now sits in A+. It still has amazing AOE and funnel potential but lacks strong single target compared to BM Hunter and Arcane Mage. Excellent mob control and utility keep it highly viable.
Druid DPS
Balance Druid remains underrated but effective, with solid damage and valuable utility through its beam and raid buff—earning A tier. Feral Druid, when played in physical comps, offers incredible AOE and funnel damage, placing it at the top of A tier despite composition limitations.
Evoker Specializations
Augmentation Evoker stays in C tier due to poor damage-to-defense tradeoffs. Devastation Evoker, offering strong AOE and mobility, earns a low A tier position for its unique defensive utility.
Hunter Specializations
BM Hunter dominates in S tier for its all-around damage, tankiness, and versatility. MM Hunter remains solid but overshadowed, landing in upper A tier. Survival Hunter struggles with poor balance between AOE and single target, keeping it in B tier.
Mage Specializations
Arcane Mage dropped after mid patch to A+, still offering strong funnel damage but losing versatility. Fire Mage remains in B tier for its limited damage profiles. Frost Mage, though flexible, underperforms overall and stays at the top of B tier due to design limitations.
Monk DPS
Windwalker Monk continues to struggle, landing at the bottom of B tier. Despite decent single target and specific AOE scenarios, its overall output and target caps hold it back.
Paladin DPS
Retribution Paladin sits above Devastation Evoker, maintaining strong AOE and good externals. Its defensive support adds significant group value despite an underwhelming raid buff.
Priest DPS
Shadow Priest is solid on single target but lacks survivability, earning a low A tier placement. It performs well but remains overshadowed by more resilient caster specs.
Rogue Specializations
Assassination Rogue is buggy and underperforming, sitting in B tier for its poor reliability. Outlaw Rogue also lands in B tier for target-cap issues and low single-target potential. Subtlety Rogue shines, offering great prio damage and flexibility, placing it in top A tier.
Shaman DPS
Elemental Shaman continues to rise, offering incredible AOE and synergy with popular healer comps. It ranks at the top of A tier. Enhancement Shaman remains undertuned, sitting in lower A tier with limited impact across content.
Warlock Specializations
Affliction struggles with add management, earning a low B tier. Demonology is a balanced allrounder, placed at bottom A tier. Destruction excels with uncapped AOE and flexible rotations, reaching A+ tier for high potential.
Warrior DPS
Arms Warrior falls to C tier for poor output across all damage profiles. Fury Warrior, after recent fixes, performs excellently in AOE and single target, placing at the top of A tier despite being overshadowed by its tank counterpart.
Healer Tier Overview
Most healer rankings remain stable this patch. They are assessed by throughput, utility, and consistency in Mythic+ keys.

Resto Druid
Still the strongest healer in the game, Resto Druid holds S tier. Its unmatched HPS, powerful 3% versatility buff, and synergy with tanks and DPS make it indispensable for high keys.
Preservation Evoker
Remains in A tier. While effective in burst healing, its reliance on positioning and cone-based heals can be problematic in certain dungeons, limiting its consistency.
Mistweaver Monk
Moved up to A tier thanks to fixes that improved performance. It remains limited outside physical comps but now offers competitive healing output.
Holy Paladin and Discipline Priest
Holy Paladin stays in A tier, offering great externals and reliable defensive tools. Discipline Priest maintains its strong mitigation but weaker raid buffs, fitting in A tier as well.
Holy Priest
The weakest healer overall, placed in C tier. Mediocre healing and lack of mitigation make it unsuitable for higher keys without major buffs.
Resto Shaman
Remains in S tier, excelling with huge HPS, valuable melee-oriented raid buffs, and unmatched utility such as interrupts and totems. It stands as one of the most balanced and powerful healers for coordinated groups.
Conclusion
This comprehensive tier list for patch 11.2.5 reflects the current state of Mythic+ balance. While the meta may adjust slightly over time, these rankings represent the most consistent performance expectations for tanks, DPS, and healers across mid to high-level keys.
