Rotmire is an add-control encounter in Sporefall where positioning, target swaps, and clear assignments matter more than simple boss damage. This guide explains the Normal and Heroic mechanics, including Festering Vines, fixating Shroomlings, Fungal Bloom, Bursting Mushrooms, and Heroic Spore Caps.

The main challenge is controlling where the adds die. A clean setup keeps the mushroom phase compact and gives the raid more time to react when the encounter shifts between boss damage and add management.

Rotmire Fight Overview

Rotmire combines boss abilities with repeated add waves. The raid must manage tank damage, targeted ground effects, fixating Shroomlings, and the mushrooms that appear during Fungal Bloom.

The encounter becomes harder when players spread the adds across the room or leave them alive before Fungal Bloom finishes. The location where Shroomlings die affects the next phase, so add control should be treated as a raid priority rather than a side task.

Rotmire Core Abilities

Putrid Fist

Putrid Fist is a tank-focused attack. It knocks the current tank into the air and applies a stacking effect that makes later hits more dangerous.

On Heroic, tanks should swap after each cast so the stacks do not build too far on one player. Normal groups have more room for error, but a planned swap still keeps the damage easier to manage.

Bursting Pustules

Bursting Pustules deals a large burst of raid damage. Healers should plan defensive cooldowns for these casts instead of using every personal defensive ability at random.

Other mechanics can overlap with this damage. Players should avoid taking extra damage so healers can focus on the main raid-wide burst.

Festering Vines

Festering Vines places rings on several players. The targeted players should move away from the raid and leave the resulting vine patches near the edge of the encounter area.

Dropping the patches in the center reduces the space available for later movement and makes the add phase harder to control. Choose the movement direction before the pull so players do not place the effects across important paths.

Awakened Fungi and Shroomlings

Awakened Fungi produce Shroomlings that fixate on random players. Fixated players should kite the Shroomlings toward one planned stack point.

Keeping the adds together allows the raid to cleave them down at the same time and creates a more manageable position for the Bursting Mushrooms that follow. Do not let the Shroomlings spread across the room without a reason. Scattered adds create scattered deaths and force the raid to cover too much ground during the next phase.

Fungal Bloom and the Add Transition

After two waves of fixating Shroomlings, Rotmire casts Fungal Bloom. Any Shroomlings still alive are healed when the cast finishes, and Bursting Mushrooms appear on the corpses of dead Shroomlings.

The raid should finish the Shroomlings before Fungal Bloom completes. Leaving even a few alive can extend the add problem and make the following phase more difficult.

  • Choose a clear stack point before the fixate wave begins.
  • Bring the Shroomlings together instead of kiting them in separate directions.
  • Finish the adds before Fungal Bloom completes.
  • Prepare to switch to the mushrooms as soon as they appear.

Bursting Mushrooms Strategy

Bursting Mushrooms cast an explosion that can cause massive raid damage if the cast completes. The raid must switch to them quickly and destroy them before they explode.

The best setup begins during the Shroomling phase. If the fixates are grouped together, most mushrooms will spawn in a compact area and can be reached with area damage. If the Shroomlings die in different locations, the mushrooms also appear in different locations, forcing the raid to split its movement and attention.

Once the mushrooms appear, they should become an immediate target priority. Keep movement controlled, but do not delay the switch. Reaching the mushrooms quickly is more important than continuing routine boss damage.

Heroic Rotmire Mechanics

Heroic adds Spore Caps to the same general part of the encounter. They appear with the fixating Shroomlings and remain in place. Their locations are shown by prominent purple circles on the ground.

Spore Caps create an additional positioning problem. When Fungal Bloom occurs, Bursting Mushrooms also appear on their corpses. These mushrooms may be far from the main Shroomling pile, so the raid must decide in advance how it will handle both locations.

Spore Caps

Spore Caps deal damage while alive, but their position after death is the main concern. A group that ignores them may create a second mushroom location that is difficult to reach or easy to miss.

Watch the purple spawn circles and make sure the raid understands which area will be used for the fixates. The important part is agreeing on the method before the pull and keeping the target assignments clear during the phase.

Heroic Bursting Mushroom Plans

There are two practical ways to organize the Heroic mushroom phase.

Split the raid between two piles

The fixating Shroomlings can be brought onto the Spore Caps, creating two main groups of Bursting Mushrooms. The raid then divides into assigned groups and destroys both piles.

This plan requires reliable target assignments and enough damage in each group. Every player should know which location to reach instead of deciding during the explosion casts.

Use one main pile and handle the second separately

The first Spore Cap can be used as the main stack point for both fixate waves. Most mushrooms will then be close together, while a ranged damage dealer or mobile player handles the mushroom created at the other Spore Cap.

This reduces movement for the main group but gives extra responsibility to the assigned player. That player should understand the target priority before the encounter begins.

Both plans can work. Choose one before the pull and explain the exact stack points, target priorities, and player assignments. Changing the plan during the phase usually creates more confusion than it solves.

Common Rotmire Wipe Causes

  • Shroomlings are kited in different directions instead of being grouped.
  • Players leave Shroomlings alive when Fungal Bloom finishes.
  • Vine patches are placed in the center of the room.
  • Players delay their switch to Bursting Mushrooms.
  • Heroic groups do not assign players to the extra mushroom locations.
  • Tanks allow Putrid Fist stacks to build too high on Heroic.

Rotmire Raid Guide Summary

Rotmire is mainly a positioning and add-management fight. Keep Festering Vines near the edges, stack fixating Shroomlings, and kill them before Fungal Bloom finishes. When Bursting Mushrooms appear, treat them as the immediate priority and move only as much as necessary.

On Heroic, Spore Caps add a second layer to the mushroom phase. Decide whether the raid will split between two piles or use one main pile with separate ranged cleanup. Consistent assignments and a marked stack point make both Normal and Heroic attempts easier to control.
