Hello, Guys, It’s Librarian Husky. Rust is a challenging game with intricate mechanics and numerous hidden features. Mastering certain strategies can significantly enhance your gameplay.

Rust Tips and Tricks

In this article, we’ll delve into 20 essential tips and tricks for Rust, covering aspects such as construction, player versus player encounters, achieving full protection against headshots, evading wildlife encounters, discovering secret locations, and more. Implementing these tips can elevate your performance and survival in the game.

Have you ever experienced the frustration of being ambushed by wildlife like a bear while attempting to sneak up on another player? Learning to deter aggressive animals with a simple jump maneuver can be a game-changer. Animals in Rust react oddly to jumping; a well-timed jump can startle them, causing them to retreat.

Even utilizing your teammate’s presence strategically can help you evade animal attacks. Additionally, exploiting a unique gameplay mechanic, you can achieve complete headshot protection without the need for conventional armor. By throwing stone axes at a teammate’s head to form a shield, you can render them impervious to headshots, providing a potent defensive advantage.

Exploring the New Rad Town reveals an intriguing hidden spot within a building’s texture, offering a novel gameplay experience. A specific building holds a surprising secret accessible through a rear entrance. Inside, a recycler awaits, but the true marvel lies beyond—a ladder leading to an unconventional escape route. By navigating this space skillfully, players can uncover a hidden area that defies conventional gameplay expectations. Mastering these tips and tricks empowers players to navigate the complexities of Rust more effectively, enhancing their overall experience and success in the game.

Enhancing Audio Settings for Tactical Advantage

Adapting your audio settings in Rust can provide a strategic edge in gameplay scenarios. The game’s dynamic weather effects, such as rainstorms, can hinder auditory perception, compromising your situational awareness. To mitigate this, adjusting the speaker configuration to mono temporarily disables ambient sounds, including rain effects. This adjustment can offer a significant advantage by enhancing your ability to hear crucial in-game cues, such as footsteps and environmental sounds, granting you a competitive edge over other players. By optimizing your audio settings, you can fine-tune your sensory awareness and improve your overall performance in Rust.

Mastering Stealth and Strategies in Rust

You’re already inside the texture, from here you can see what’s happening on the First floor and below you. But the craziest thing is that you’re almost invisible, especially if you’ve got a new skin for Hazmat. Next, you can walk a little deeper down this pipe, and hide in the corner above the recycler. By the way, you can easily shoot and deal damage through the texture from this position. And at the right moment, you can just jump down through the ceiling and go straight into the recycler room and surprise your enemies.

Always pay attention to your environment. For example, I noticed that this zipline goes too low to the ground and this can be used as a trap. The first time I got through without any problems, but the next time I got kicked off the server. So if you know about these places on the map, you can get some free loot from other players, as well as avoid them yourself. If you want to add an extra layer of protection to your base, instead of building regular honeycombs, let’s fix the loot rooms inside your base.

First, build a shelf inside this room and upgrade it. Next, place a ramp on the bottom half first and then on the upper half, and upgrade them as well. Add two large boxes at the bottom and cover them with small boxes. For the top half of the loot room, you’ll have to place a twig shelf followed with two campfires to stand on to get some leverage so you can place those boxes. And once you do that, you can place the small boxes at this point. And there you have it, the perfect loot room. Now, if somebody comes to raid your base, as you can see, even if they get rid of the boxes, they won’t be able to get inside because the ramp is blocking the passage.

If you were in a hurry and misplaced the TC by not placing it as close to the back walls as possible, and now you can’t build a shelf because of that, instead of spending a bunch of time to break that TC, you can simply rotate it, in this case, its texture will become smaller and you can build the shelf as usual. And once you have upgraded the shelf, you can turn the TC back to its normal position.

A very simple trick that can save you a lot of time and nerves. Another essential trick that will save you time after you’ve climbed onto the roof of the Launch Side. If you go to the building at the back right of the Launch Side, jump and bump into the wall as I show you, you can go down in a few seconds without taking any fall damage. Next, you can just jump off the roof here. You’ll take some damage, but it’s much better than spending a few minutes going down the usual way. And don’t forget that there might be some rats waiting for you along the way.

The same trick can be applied on the Sphere. As you can see I have fall damage enabled. And now I’m gonna show you how to get down in just a couple of seconds. First, you have to find the beam on the side, get full speed, jump down, and touch the tank from below. The jump is the same as in Assassin, and as you can see I took no damage. Some of the trees in Rust have physical branch textures that you can use to climb to the top like a ladder. This can help you hide near monuments when there are no bushes nearby and you can’t build in the area. The leaves provide excellent cover, even better than bushes.

Vending Machine Strategies for Survival

And who in their right mind would expect to see anyone in a tree? If you like surviving near water, swimming to the Oil Rig, or to an underwater lab, this item is a must-have for you. And I’m talking about a boogie board. It has so many advantages. Firstly, it’s the only item in the game that gives you a third-person view.

Secondly, it allows you to swim faster than with fins. And thirdly, if you’re low on HP, you can’t use any meds in the water, However, you can use this board as an island to heal your HP, which is the biggest advantage to me. Yes, you’ll have to spend some money to buy the Sun Burn DLC, but it’s definitely worth it.

The longer you live, the more fat you will store. For example, I have been alive on the server for 19 minutes, and after breaking my body I will get 6 units of fat, which is not much but can help in a critical situation when you need some fuel. And if I have been alive for less than a minute, I only get 2 units of fat. So I think we all have that low-skill teammate that we can sacrifice for fuel. If you have a full inventory but have found the mushrooms and want to eat them to gain some HP, instead of throwing something from your inventory, you can hold E and eat the mushrooms from the ground. You can do the same with berries, but they won’t give you HP, they will only increase your satiety.

As you know, vending machines can be either front or back-facing. However, you can also place it sideways in a doorway. In this case, it’s no longer a vending machine, but an addition to the shooting floor and a place to store loot. When I am inside the base, I can easily use this vending machine, but outside it’s impossible. On top of that, you get insane pixel gaps on the sides, which will help you during PVP thanks to the excellent visibility. Also, the vending machine has even more HP than a metal wall, so you’ll definitely be protected inside your base.

But that was just the beginning, as vending machines can be used to make hidden loot rooms. If you attach a switch, splitter, or any electrical component under the doorway as I show, you can place a vending machine on top of it so that it sticks out a lot. Next, you can place 2 large boxes inside and lock them up, cover this square with walls and ceiling, and there you have it, the hidden loot room, that only you have access to.

To open these boxes you need to find the pixel at the bottom of the vending machine, and you can easily use them. But the crazy thing is that you can use the vending machine as a bunker. For example, let’s protect this 2×1 using this method. All you need to do is build a triangle frame, attach the camera in the middle as low as possible, and point it at yourself. Next, take the vending machine, rotate it, and place it as close to you as possible. That’s it, your bunker is ready. You can also add a door inside it to add some extra protection. You can do it from the inside, but I’m showing the outside for a better example. To open this bunker just pick up the camera and break this triangle frame.

Unusual Rust Bug: Flying in Lakes

The vending machine will disappear, and the exit to the second floor will open.

And here is the craziest bug I’ve seen in Rust lately. It turns out that on some servers you can fly in lakes like Superman because the lakes are invisible. They just don’t have textures, so it looks like you’re Flying. But be careful because you can get banned for fly hack. Also if you don’t know, this bug can get you into trouble quickly if you’re not cautious. It’s important to report such bugs to the game developers promptly to prevent unfair advantages in gameplay.
