Making Money on OSRS From Scratch – Level 3 to 50M Bank

Runescape is a world of opportunity, especially when you have an amazing weapon and max stats. Professional players often showcase their skills and wealth generation tactics in various videos. However, what happens when you lack these advantages?

Exploring Innovative Money-Making in RuneScape

Are there still creative, no-requirement money-making methods that can help you thrive in Runescape? This exploration starts with a brand new account, beginning from scratch, employing both old and new methods. The goal is ambitious: make 50 million GP. The journey begins with an empty bank – actually, there isn’t even a bank account yet. Encounters at the stronghold of security and smart purchases, such as a ring of dueling, lay the foundation. The strategy involves finding undervalued items, like those at Shanti’s shop, which sell for more on the Grand Exchange.

Utilizing the Grand Exchange and PVP Worlds

Investing the initial earnings into steel nails, a no-requirement but potentially profitable item, demonstrates the method’s effectiveness. Despite the competition, selling steel nails on the PVP world proves lucrative. This success leads to exploring other unique money-making methods.

The Art of Burning Food for Profit

One particularly intriguing method involves burning food – a seemingly counterintuitive approach. With a cooking level of one, burnt bread becomes a surprisingly valuable commodity, selling for thousands of GP each. As the cooking level increases, the strategy evolves to include burning rabbits, requiring a spit roast. This unusual method highlights the diverse and creative ways to make money in Runescape, even without high levels or superior equipment. The journey through these methods is not just about making GP; it’s about discovering the myriad ways one can navigate and succeed in the vast world of Runescape.

Maximizing Profits with Burnt Food in RuneScape

I’ve chosen raw rabbits as my next burnt food because you have to put the spits in the rabbits, which is a tedious process. As we can see, burning them is crucial; the burnt rabbit is what we’re after, not burnt meat. These go for 6K each. The challenge arises when my cooking level increases, making it harder to burn the food – it’s frustrating when I’m just cooking them. After two hours, with a cooking level of 55, I complete the task. Fortunately, I get the spits back, so there’s no loss on that front. Now, I wonder, will anyone buy a roasted rabbit for one coin each? Surprisingly, there is a market for this item. It’s almost as surprising as the fact that burnt rabbits have a value. I’ve got a buyer offering 6K each for the burnt rabbits and 3K for the burnt breads. That’s 3.6 million GP for two hours of burning food. We’re already at four million GP in cash, which is a great start.

Exploring Free-to-Play Options

The next activity requires no initial investment; in fact, it’s absolutely free. I’m talking about downloading Raid Shadow Legends through the link in the description. Raid has been a significant partner of this venture. What appeals to me the most about Raid is the variety it offers – there are numerous challenges, different champions, and strategic elements in setting up your team. My favorite champion is Hellfang the Chomper. Intriguingly, Raid has launched their own show on YouTube, “Call of the Arbiter”, featuring new characters from the series as champions. The first is Aratak, a mighty orc warlord, available for free to everyone who logs into Raid on seven days between now and July 24th. Additionally, using my link in the description or scanning the QR code gets you an epic Champion Knight Errant and other amazing bonuses.

Investing in Profitable Methods

Now that I’ve got some money, I can invest in a more profitable method. I’ve done this before as a money-maker, so I’m curious to see how it holds up two years on. Many people claim these methods don’t work anymore, but let’s see. Bagged plants are used by wealthy players for early game farming. I decide to go for the bagged plant ones, as they cost 1K each. Buying 10 amounts to about 5K at world top. After buying over 3,000 bagged plants, my worth is now six million GP. I plan to leave some out of this sell-off and use them to train my own farming and construction skills. This is what I’ve discovered in my journey of innovative money-making in Runescape.

Strategic Farming and Trading in RuneScape

I buy plants that are valuable because they simplify early game farming. Many players create new accounts frequently and are willing to pay a premium for these items. As a result, my farming level has reached 30, and I’m determined to keep the Garden Center thriving. Next, I’m off to the Farming Guild where I can now grow trees. A 24-hour wait is needed for the trees to mature. My strategy involves using a garden pie to boost my level to 45, allowing me access to more advanced farming options. The Farming Guild is conveniently located near a bank and a garden supplier, which sells all the necessary items, significantly increasing my efficiency and potential earnings.

Profitable Plant Trading

I’ve upgraded to buying bagged plant threes, which are slightly more expensive but offer a greater return. By purchasing five per world and world hopping, I can make a significant profit. My selling strategy has been successful, with the first batch selling immediately for six million GP. This method allows me to buy around 2,000 bagged plants per hour, with a profit margin of around 1.5K each. Although there are some minor liquidity issues, patience pays off as they consistently sell for over 12K in large volumes.

Exploring Crystal Key Trading

Another method I’m retesting involves crystal keys. The profit margins are incredibly high – a tooth part of the key sells for 9.7K, which is a substantial gain. Combining a loop and a tooth part of the key increases their value significantly. While these methods are somewhat tedious, they are highly profitable. I’ve encountered a slight imbalance in my ratios, having more loop parts at the moment, but they still sell for 21K each. The profitability of this method is evident as I’m able to generate around 1.5 million GP profit from these keys. Not all of them sell immediately, but even at slightly lower prices, the earnings are substantial. My balance has now increased to 22 million GP. The rationale behind selling the keys at a markup is that the average loot from the crystal chest, which requires these keys to open, is valued at around 23K, ensuring profitability for both the buyer and the seller.

Maximizing Profits with Crystal Chests in RuneScape

I’ve moved my house over to Taverley to facilitate quick access to the crystal chest. Located just down the road, this chest offers what I like to call ‘positive expectation gambling’. Rune bars are a particularly lucrative find. My early loot from these chests has been quite impressive, contributing significantly to my income. After opening 1,000 chests, the returns have been fruitful. The total loot amounts to approximately 26 million GP, up from 22 million. This translates to a profit of about five million GP. Encouraged by these results, I’m ready for another round, hoping to further increase my earnings.

Exploring Passive Income Strategies

With a current balance of 29 million GP, I am now turning my attention to passive income streams. I’ve been collecting Giant Egg Stacks, which have proven to be an incredible source of revenue. Each stack yields 100 red spider eggs, and with my efficient inventory management, I can quickly transfer these into my bag. This method has rapidly increased my funds from 5.1 million to 5.5 million GP in just two minutes.

Benefiting from Overnight Trading

My next venture involves trading Master scroll books for Watson teleports. These teleports take you directly to a specific house, which I’ve just used to get here. By trading in these books, I typically receive between 10 to 20 Watson teleports, averaging out at about 14.5 per book. This results in a substantial profit margin. For instance, purchasing 100 books for 14.7 million GP and selling the resulting teleports for 16 million GP yields a profit of 1.3 million GP in a very short time.

Utilizing Shop Trading for Consistent Profits

Another method I’m exploring involves trading rune plate legs, skirts, and chain bodies. These items are a constant in the game and maintain a stable price due to their Alchemy value. With patience, these items are a reliable investment. I’m also engaging in shop trading, specifically at the city of Nardah. Here, Seddu’s shop buys rune items for more than their Alchemy price. For example, a set costing me 105K can be sold for 115K, netting a 10K profit per world hop. Although shop hopping isn’t my preferred method, the potential for profit makes it a worthwhile endeavor.

Expanding Wealth with No-Requirement Money-Makers in RuneScape

I’ve found success in making money in Runescape, particularly with methods that require no prerequisites other than some initial cash. My balance has impressively reached 135 million GP, a significant milestone. Currently busy, I decide to revisit a previously successful method. Returning with a substantial amount of each item set, my fortune has increased to 38 million GP. I’m eager to explore the next money-making strategy, which involves a relatively new addition to the game: Laren’s Keys.

Investing in Laren’s Keys for Profit

Laren’s Keys have only recently become tradable, and they’re currently valued at around 150k each. I decide to invest heavily in them, as the average loot value from the big Laren’s chest is estimated at around 159k to 160k. This presents an opportunity for a 10k profit per key. However, I’m cautious about not risking my entire bank, so I also engage in activities like The Witch’s House to gain some hit points experience. After purchasing 250 Laren’s Keys, I’m ready to take a risk and open them all at once.

Assessing the Risks and Rewards

The outcome of using Laren’s Keys is largely left to chance. My first attempt with 250 keys yields only two Dagen high hats, which is quite unlucky and results in a significant loss of about four million GP. Undeterred, I decide to try again, hoping for better luck. Fortunately, the next attempt is more successful, as I acquire several Dagen high tops and bottoms, changing my fortunes dramatically.

Realizing the Importance of Skill Levels

It turns out that the profitability of using Laren’s Keys is significantly influenced by one’s fishing level. Without a high fishing level, the loot consists mainly of lower-value items like tuna and swordfish, instead of manta rays and sharks. This revelation highlights that while this method can yield up to 10 million GP per hour for skilled players, it’s less effective for beginners like myself. Consequently, I decide to revert to more reliable, traditional methods to reach my goal of 50 million GP.

Conclusion

After various methods, including some hopping techniques and facing occasional account lockouts, I’ve successfully accumulated 50 million GP from scratch in 11 hours. Although I initially aimed for 100 million GP, the challenges with Laren’s Keys led me to adjust my goal.
