LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025: Who Can Play Together?
Choose your current rank to see the allowed partner ranks. The result is easier to read than comparing every tier and division manually, especially when Emerald, Diamond, or the Apex tiers are involved.

LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
This League of Legends Duo Rank Calculator shows which ranks can queue together in Solo/Duo. Select one rank and the calculator displays the compatible ranks based on the configured 2025 rules.
The tool is useful before you send an invite. Rank restrictions can change the available partner list, and the rules are not identical across Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger.
Why Duo Queue Has Rank Restrictions
Solo/Duo matchmaking uses rank limits to reduce very large skill gaps between party members. Without these limits, a much higher-ranked player could queue with a lower-ranked account and create harder-to-balance matches.
The restrictions also become tighter near the top of the ladder. This is why a pairing that works in Silver or Gold may not work in Diamond or Master. The calculator keeps the check focused on the selected rank instead of making you compare the whole ladder.
How to Check Allowed Duo Ranks
- Open the rank selector in the calculator.
- Choose your current Solo/Duo rank.
- Review the ranks shown in the result area.
- Use the copy option if you want to share the list.
The result is a compatibility check, not a prediction of match quality or queue time. It tells you which rank pairings are allowed by the calculator’s rule set.
Rank Groups and Duo Queue Rules
The allowed gap depends on your place in the ladder. Lower ranks generally have more room between the selected rank and a possible partner. Higher ranks use narrower limits, and some Apex tiers have special Solo/Duo restrictions.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver Duo Ranks
Iron, Bronze, and Silver use a more flexible range than the higher parts of the ladder. The calculator can show partner ranks up to the supported two-tier range when the selected rank qualifies.
Gold and Platinum Duo Ranks
Gold and Platinum use a closer rank range. The calculator checks the nearby tiers and shows the ranks that remain available for a Solo/Duo party.
Emerald and Diamond Duo Ranks
Emerald and Diamond have tighter restrictions that depend on divisions. Small differences between divisions can affect the result, so selecting the exact rank is important.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
The Apex tiers have the strictest rules in the calculator. Master has limited duo options, while Grandmaster and Challenger are treated as Solo-only in the configured rule set. Check the result instead of assuming that a nearby rank is eligible.
Solo/Duo and Flex Queue Differences
This calculator is for Solo/Duo queue. Flex queue follows a different set of restrictions, so a pairing that is unavailable in Solo/Duo may not have the same result in Flex.
The reference rules used by this calculator allow broader Flex pairings at Diamond and below. At Master and above, the configured rule set requires all players to be Emerald or higher. Use the correct queue when checking a party plan.
What the Calculator Shows
- The selected League of Legends rank.
- Allowed partner ranks for Solo/Duo.
- Rank icons and a visual ladder.
- A copy button for sharing the result.
- A reset option for a new check.
The visual ladder is helpful when rank names are easy to confuse. It also makes division-based restrictions easier to compare without switching between separate lists.
Common Duo Rank Questions
Can I duo with any rank in League of Legends?
No. Solo/Duo has rank restrictions, and the allowed range depends on the selected tier and division. Choose your rank in the calculator to see the available partners.
Does the calculator cover all ranks?
It covers the configured ladder from Iron through Challenger, including the divisions used in the result list.
Why can my friend not join my party?
Your ranks may fall outside the allowed Solo/Duo range. Emerald, Diamond, and the Apex tiers have tighter rules, so an exact division can matter.
Does this tool check Flex queue?
No. The calculator checks Solo/Duo compatibility. Flex queue uses different rules and should be considered separately.
Can these rank rules change?
Yes. Riot Games can update queue rules over time. This page is labeled for the 2025 rule set, so check current official information if the game client shows a different restriction.
Check Before You Queue
Select your rank and review the result before inviting a friend. It takes less time than testing several party combinations in the client and helps you choose between Solo/Duo and Flex when the ranks do not fit.
