LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends uses rank restrictions to keep Solo/Duo queue matches more balanced. Your ability to duo depends on your current tier and, in some cases, your division. A friend who looks close on the ladder may still be outside the allowed range.
This calculator gives you a quick visual check. Select your rank and review the ranks shown in the result area. You can also copy the allowed rank list when you need to share it with a duo partner.
How to check who you can duo with
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current League of Legends rank.
- Review the ranks listed as allowed partners.
- Use the result before sending a queue invite.
The result is a rank compatibility reference, not a promise that a match will be found quickly. Queue availability, region, matchmaking conditions, and other game settings can still affect the time it takes to enter a game.
Solo/Duo rank rules in 2025
The calculator follows the 2025 rank groups described for Solo/Duo queue. Lower tiers normally allow a wider rank gap, while higher tiers use tighter restrictions. Division differences become more important around Emerald and Diamond.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
Players in Iron, Bronze, and Silver can generally duo across a wider range of nearby tiers. The reference rules allow up to two tiers of difference for these lower ranks. Select the exact division in the calculator to see the result for your account.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum use a narrower range than the lowest tiers. The listed rule allows play within one tier above or below the selected rank. Your exact division may still affect the result shown by the tool.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond have stricter division-based limits. The allowed range is measured more closely across divisions, so choosing only the tier is not enough for a reliable answer. Use the full rank option, such as a specific division, before checking your duo partner.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
High-tier Solo/Duo rules are more limited. Master players have a smaller set of possible partners, while Grandmaster and Challenger are treated as solo-only in the supplied 2025 reference. If you are in one of these tiers, check the calculator instead of relying on a general rank comparison.
Why League of Legends limits duo ranks
Rank restrictions reduce the gap between players entering the same ranked game. Without limits, a much higher-ranked player could queue with a lower-ranked friend and create uneven matchmaking conditions for the rest of the lobby.
- They limit large rank gaps.
- They support more consistent matchmaking.
- They protect the competitive value of ranked games.
- They make high-tier queue rules stricter.
These rules can be frustrating when a friend is only a few divisions away, but the calculator removes the guesswork before you form the party.
Solo/Duo and Flex queue are different
This calculator is designed for Solo/Duo queue. Flex queue follows a separate set of restrictions, so a result from this tool should not be treated as a universal rule for every ranked queue.
The supplied 2025 reference describes Flex as more flexible for players at Diamond and below. At Master level and above, it requires all members to be Emerald or higher. Check the queue type before comparing ranks, because the same two players may have different options in Solo/Duo and Flex.
When to use the duo rank checker
Use the calculator before inviting a friend if you have recently promoted, dropped divisions, or reached a tier with tighter restrictions. It is also useful when a duo invite fails without making the reason clear.
For a regular duo partner, checking once after a rank change is usually enough. If either player moves to a new tier or division, run the check again because the allowed range may change.
LoL duo rank calculator FAQ
Can I duo with any League of Legends rank?
No. Solo/Duo queue has rank restrictions. The available partner ranks depend on your tier and, for some ranks, your division.
Does the calculator check Flex queue?
No. It is intended for Solo/Duo queue. Flex uses separate rules, so check the selected queue before applying the result.
Why are Emerald and Diamond more difficult to compare?
These tiers use tighter division-based limits in the supplied 2025 rules. Two players can be in nearby tiers but still fall outside the allowed division range.
What if no duo ranks appear?
The selected rank may have no available duo partners under the current rules, or the high-tier restriction may require solo queue. Try the calculator again after checking the exact rank and division.
Check the rank gap before queueing
Select your rank, review the allowed partner list, and confirm the queue type before inviting your friend. This quick check can prevent failed invites and help you choose between Solo/Duo and Flex when both options are available.
