How the LoL Duo Rank Calculator Works
Select your League of Legends rank from the calculator. It then displays the ranks that can queue with you in Solo/Duo. The list covers the ranked tiers from Iron to Challenger and presents the result in a simple visual layout.
This tool is for checking ranked Duo compatibility. It does not change matchmaking rules or predict your opponents. The result only shows whether the selected rank combination is allowed under the rule set used by the calculator.
Why League of Legends Has Duo Rank Limits
Rank restrictions help keep Solo/Duo matchmaking closer to the intended skill range. Without limits, a large gap between two players could create uneven games and make ranked progress less meaningful.
The exact restriction depends on the tier, division, and whether the selected rank is near the top of the ladder. That is why checking the pair directly is more useful than relying on a general rule such as “one tier apart.”
Solo/Duo Rank Compatibility by Tier
Iron, Bronze, and Silver Duo Rules
Iron, Bronze, and Silver players can generally queue with partners up to two tiers higher within the limits shown by the calculator. For example, a lower Iron player may see Bronze or Silver options in the allowed list.
Use the calculator for the exact result because the available divisions can still affect the final list.
Gold and Platinum Duo Rules
Gold and Platinum usually follow a closer range. The calculator can show eligible partners one tier above, one tier below, or within the same tier, depending on the selected rank.
This is useful when two friends are close in rank but are unsure whether their current divisions are compatible.
Emerald and Diamond Duo Rules
Emerald and Diamond use tighter division-based limits. A player may only be able to queue with ranks within a limited division range, even when the two players appear close by tier name.
Diamond combinations can also change around the boundary between Emerald and Diamond. Select the exact rank instead of checking only the broad tier.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger Duo Rules
High-ranked players face the strictest Solo/Duo restrictions in the calculator. Master has limited partner options, while Grandmaster and Challenger are treated as solo-only in the supplied rule set.
If the calculator returns no Duo partners for the selected rank, the restriction is part of the ranked queue rules rather than a calculator error.
How to Check If Two LoL Ranks Can Duo
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current tier and division.
- Review the ranks displayed in the result area.
- Compare your friend’s rank with that list.
- Copy the displayed list if you want to share it.
The calculator is designed for a quick check before starting a queue. If the selected combination is not listed, try another queue type or wait until the account ranks change.
Solo/Duo and Flex Queue Are Different
This calculator focuses on Solo/Duo compatibility. Flex Queue uses a different set of party rules, so a rank combination that is blocked in Solo/Duo may not have the same result in Flex.
According to the rule information used here, Flex is more permissive for Diamond and below. At Master level and above, the listed Flex requirement is that all players must be Emerald or higher. Check the current in-game rules if your planned group does not fit the calculator’s Solo/Duo result.
Using the Result Before a Ranked Session
Checking compatibility first can prevent failed invites and unnecessary queue delays. It also helps friends decide whether to play Solo/Duo together or use Flex Queue instead.
Rank is only one part of a good duo. Clear communication, sensible champion choices, and a stable connection still matter once both players are allowed into the same queue.
