LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends uses rank limits in the Solo/Duo queue to keep matchmaking closer between players. Because of these limits, two friends may not always be able to queue together, even when they want to play the same mode.
Use the calculator above to select your current rank. It will show the ranks that can duo with you under the listed 2025 Solo/Duo rules. You can also copy the result and send it to your teammate.
How to Check Duo Compatibility
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current tier and division.
- Review the displayed partner ranks.
- Copy the list if you want to share it.
The result is a quick compatibility check before you invite a friend. If the selected ranks do not appear together, the Solo/Duo queue does not allow that combination under the calculator’s rule set.
Solo/Duo Rank Rules
The allowed range depends on your tier. Lower tiers have more room between players, while higher tiers use tighter limits.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
Players in Iron, Bronze, and Silver can duo with partners up to two tiers higher. For example, an Iron player may be able to play with Bronze or Silver, depending on the selected division and the rules used by the calculator.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum players can duo within a narrower range of one tier above or below. This normally includes nearby ranks, but the exact result depends on the rank selected in the calculator.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond use stricter division-based limits. The calculator checks the distance between divisions and displays the combinations allowed by the 2025 rule set.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
High-ranked players have the strictest Solo/Duo restrictions. Master players can duo with Master and Diamond I under the listed rules. Grandmaster and Challenger players are treated as solo-only in this calculator.
Solo/Duo and Flex Queue Are Different
This tool checks Solo/Duo compatibility. Flex queue uses a different set of restrictions, so a result from this calculator should not be treated as a Flex queue result.
Under the referenced rules, Flex is more open for players at Diamond and below. At Master and above, the listed requirement is that all players meet the required Emerald-or-higher level. Check the queue you plan to play before inviting your teammate.
Why a Duo Invite Can Fail
- Your ranks may be too far apart for Solo/Duo.
- One player may be in a high tier with tighter restrictions.
- You may be checking Flex rules against a Solo/Duo queue.
- A recent rule update may not match an older list or screenshot.
The calculator helps with the rank-gap question, but it does not replace the current in-game queue rules if Riot changes them after the 2025 rule set.
What the Calculator Does Not Do
This is a compatibility tool, not a matchmaking or account service. It does not start a game, find a teammate, change an account rank, or guarantee that a queue will accept an invite. It only shows the rank combinations covered by its rules.
Your account, selected queue, and current game rules still matter. If the result looks different from the client, follow the restrictions shown in the game.
LoL Duo Rank Calculator FAQ
Can I use it for Flex queue?
No. The calculator is designed for Solo/Duo rank compatibility. Flex queue has separate rules and should be checked separately.
Does the calculator change my rank?
No. It only shows which ranks can play together. It does not affect your account, matchmaking rating, or rank.
Why are high ranks more limited?
Higher tiers use stricter duo restrictions to keep the skill gap in competitive matchmaking smaller. The calculator reflects these tighter limits in its results.
Can I share the result?
Yes. Use the copy button after selecting your rank to copy the displayed list of allowed partner ranks.
Are the 2025 rules permanent?
No rule set should be treated as permanent. This page is based on the 2025 rules named in the calculator. If League of Legends changes its queue restrictions, the in-game client may show newer results.
