LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends Solo/Duo queue uses rank restrictions to keep matchmaking closer between players. If your rank and your friend’s rank are outside the allowed range, the game may not let you queue together. This calculator gives you a quick way to check the permitted ranks before starting a session.
Select your current rank in the calculator above. The result will show the ranks that can duo with you under the listed 2025 rules. You can also copy the result and send it to your friend.
Why Duo Rank Restrictions Exist
Duo queue can affect the balance of a match because two coordinated players may have an advantage over a random pair. Large rank gaps can also create uneven games, especially when a higher-ranked player queues with someone much lower.
Riot’s Solo/Duo restrictions limit these gaps by tier and division. The exact rule depends on your selected rank, so checking the calculator is easier than comparing every tier manually.
Solo/Duo Rank Rules for 2025
The calculator follows the rank relationships listed in the supplied 2025 rule set. The main groups are separated below.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
Players in Iron, Bronze, and Silver can duo with partners up to two tiers higher within the listed rules. For example, an Iron player may be able to queue with a Bronze or Silver player, depending on the exact rank selection.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum players have a narrower range. They can duo within one tier above or below their own tier, as shown by the calculator.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond restrictions use smaller division gaps. A compatible duo may depend on the exact division rather than the tier name alone. Select your full rank in the calculator to see the available options.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
High-rank Solo/Duo rules are more limited. Under the listed rules, Master players can duo with Master or Diamond I. Grandmaster and Challenger players are solo queue only.
- Master can duo with Master or Diamond I.
- Grandmaster does not have regular duo access.
- Challenger does not have regular duo access.
How to Use the Duo Rank Calculator
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current Solo/Duo rank.
- Review the displayed allowed ranks.
- Compare the result with your friend’s rank.
- Use the copy button if you want to share the list.
The result is shown as a visual rank ladder with tier icons. This makes it easier to spot the allowed range without reading a long table of restrictions.
Solo/Duo Queue and Flex Queue
This calculator is for Solo/Duo queue. Flex queue follows different restrictions, so its rules should not be used as a replacement for the calculator result.
In the supplied rule set, Flex queue is more open for Diamond and lower. At Master and above, all members must be Emerald or higher. If your friends cannot queue together in Solo/Duo, Flex may be another option when its own requirements are met.
When the Calculator Is Useful
This tool is useful before inviting a friend who has recently climbed or dropped several divisions. It can also help when a duo invite fails without an obvious explanation. Instead of testing several combinations in the client, you can check the selected rank and see the permitted range first.
Rank rules can change between updates. For a current 2025 check, use the calculator result shown on this page rather than relying on an old screenshot or chat message.
