LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
Use the calculator above to select your current League of Legends rank. It will display the ranks that can queue with you in Solo/Duo Queue under the 2025 rules. The visual list is designed for a quick check before you invite a friend.
This tool covers the ranked tiers from Iron to Challenger. The result is based on the selected rank, division, and the restrictions shown in the calculator. You can also copy the compatible rank list for easy sharing.
Why Solo/Duo Queue Has Rank Restrictions
Rank limits help keep ranked matchmaking more balanced. Without restrictions, a much stronger player could queue with a lower-ranked partner and create uneven matches. The rules are stricter at higher ranks, where small differences in skill and division matter more.
- They limit large gaps between duo partners.
- They reduce unfair matchmaking situations.
- They protect the competitive value of ranked games.
How to Check Duo Compatibility
- Open the rank selector in the calculator.
- Choose your current tier and division.
- Review the ranks shown in the result list.
- Share or copy the list if your friend needs to check it.
If no compatible rank appears, the selected pair cannot use the same Solo/Duo queue under the rules included in this calculator. You may need to choose another queue or play after one account reaches a different rank.
League of Legends Solo/Duo Rank Rules
The allowed range depends on the tier and division. Lower tiers generally allow a wider rank gap, while Emerald, Diamond, and the highest tiers use tighter limits.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver Duo Ranks
Iron, Bronze, and Silver players can generally queue with partners up to two tiers higher within the limits shown by the calculator. The exact result is displayed after you select your rank.
Gold and Platinum Duo Ranks
Gold and Platinum use a narrower range around the selected tier. A player may be able to queue with ranks immediately above or below, depending on the selected rank and the current rule set shown in the tool.
Emerald and Diamond Duo Ranks
Emerald and Diamond restrictions depend more closely on divisions. The calculator checks the division gap and shows the specific ranks that remain available for duo play.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
The highest tiers have the strictest duo restrictions. Master has limited compatibility, while Grandmaster and Challenger may be restricted to solo queue. Select the exact rank in the calculator to see the applicable result.
Solo/Duo Queue and Flex Queue Differences
This calculator focuses on Solo/Duo Queue. Flex Queue follows different rules and can be more permissive for many rank combinations. The reference rules used by this tool indicate that Diamond and below have broader Flex options, while Master and higher require all players to meet a higher rank threshold.
Because the queues use different restrictions, a friend who cannot join your Solo/Duo lobby may still be able to play with you in Flex. Check the queue type before assuming that a rank gap applies everywhere.
Common Duo Rank Questions
Can I duo with a friend in another tier?
It depends on both ranks and divisions. Select your rank in the calculator to see the compatible partners instead of checking only the tier names.
Does division matter for duo queue?
Yes. Division differences are especially important around Emerald and Diamond. Two players in the same tier may still have different compatibility depending on their divisions.
Does this calculator check Flex Queue?
No. It is designed for Solo/Duo Queue. Flex Queue has separate restrictions, so its results should not be treated as identical.
Can I share the compatible rank list?
Yes. After selecting a rank, use the copy option to copy the displayed list and send it to your duo partner.
Check Before You Queue
Rank restrictions can change how you plan a session with a friend. Use the calculator before sending an invite, especially when one player is near a tier boundary or when you are comparing Solo/Duo with Flex Queue. Select the rank, review the result, and choose the queue that fits both players.
