LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends uses rank restrictions to keep Solo/Duo matchmaking more balanced. Two players cannot always queue together just because they are on the same server or have similar experience. The allowed range depends on the selected rank, division, and the rules for that part of the ladder.
Use the calculator above before sending an invite. Select your current rank and review the full list of compatible duo partners. You can also copy the result when you need to share it with a teammate.
How to Check Duo Queue Eligibility
- Open the rank selector in the calculator.
- Choose your current Solo/Duo rank.
- Review the ranks shown in the results area.
- Copy the list if you want to send it to your duo partner.
The tool covers the ranked ladder from Iron through Challenger. It is designed for a quick check, so you do not need to compare every rank manually.
Solo/Duo Rank Restrictions
The permitted range changes across the ladder. Lower ranks generally have a wider range, while higher ranks use tighter rules to reduce large skill gaps.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
Iron, Bronze, and Silver players can usually duo across a wider part of the lower ladder. The reference rules allow these ranks to play with partners up to two tiers higher, depending on the exact selected rank.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum use a narrower range around the player’s own tier. A compatible partner may be one tier above or below, subject to the selected rank and division shown in the calculator.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond have stricter division-based limits. A player may only duo with certain nearby divisions, so checking the exact rank is more reliable than using a broad tier comparison.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
Master has limited duo options and can play with Master or Diamond I under the referenced rules. Grandmaster and Challenger are solo-only in this calculator, so no duo partners are displayed for those ranks.
Solo/Duo Queue Versus Flex Queue
This calculator focuses on Solo/Duo restrictions. Flex queue follows different rules and can be more flexible for groups with different ranks.
- Diamond and below: the referenced Flex rules allow players of any rank to play together.
- Master and above: all players must be Emerald or higher.
If a friend is outside your Solo/Duo range, Flex may be the better queue to check. Always review the current in-client rules if Riot changes ranked restrictions after the calculator update.
Why Duo Rank Limits Exist
Rank limits help reduce extreme skill gaps in ranked games. Without restrictions, a highly ranked player could queue with a much lower-ranked account and create difficult matchmaking situations for the rest of the lobby.
The rules are not a measure of whether two players can cooperate. They are queue requirements used to keep ranked games closer to the expected level of competition.
FAQ About LoL Duo Ranks
What does the LoL duo calculator check?
It checks which ranks can queue together in League of Legends Solo/Duo based on the selected rank and the referenced 2025 rules.
Does the calculator cover Flex queue?
No. The main results are for Solo/Duo. Flex queue has separate restrictions, which are explained above.
Why are Emerald and Diamond different?
These tiers use tighter division-based limits. The exact compatible ranks can change with the selected division, so use the calculator instead of relying on the tier name alone.
Can Grandmaster and Challenger players duo?
Under the referenced rules, Grandmaster and Challenger are solo-only in Solo/Duo queue. The calculator will show no duo ranks for those selections.
Can ranked duo rules change?
Yes. Riot can adjust queue rules between updates. Use the calculator for the stated 2025 rules and check the current client information if the game has changed.
