LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends Solo/Duo Queue uses rank restrictions to keep matchmaking within its allowed limits. The exact answer can depend on your tier and division, so checking before sending an invite is faster than testing different combinations in the client.
Use the calculator above to choose your rank. The result lists the ranks that can queue with you under the rules used by this calculator. You can also copy the result and send it to your duo partner.
How to Check Duo Queue Compatibility
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current League of Legends rank.
- Review the displayed compatible ranks.
- Copy the list if you want to share it.
The calculator is designed for a quick rank check. It does not replace the game client, and queue rules can change when Riot updates ranked systems.
Solo/Duo Rank Restrictions
Rank compatibility becomes stricter as you move higher on the ladder. Lower tiers generally have more room between eligible partners, while upper tiers use narrower limits. At the highest levels, duo access can be restricted or unavailable.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
These lower tiers normally allow a wider rank range than the middle and upper parts of the ladder. The calculator checks the selected rank and shows the permitted options instead of making you compare every tier manually.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum use a narrower compatibility range. A partner may need to be close to your tier for the duo to be accepted, so the calculator is useful when two accounts sit near a tier boundary.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond rank combinations are more division-sensitive. Small differences can affect whether two players are allowed to queue together. Select the exact rank shown on your account for a more useful result.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
The highest ranks have the strictest Solo/Duo conditions. Some combinations are limited to a small part of the ladder, while certain high ranks may be limited to solo play. Use the result shown for your selected rank instead of assuming that nearby tiers are compatible.
Why Duo Queue Rules Exist
Rank limits help reduce extreme skill gaps in competitive matchmaking. Without restrictions, a high-ranked player could queue with a much lower-ranked account and create uneven games. The rules also make it harder to use a duo partner to bypass the normal structure of the ranked ladder.
These restrictions can be frustrating when friends are separated by a tier boundary. A calculator gives you a quick answer before you spend time trying different invitations or rebuilding a group.
Solo/Duo Queue Versus Flex Queue
This calculator focuses on Solo/Duo Queue. Flex Queue follows its own rules, so a pair that cannot queue together in Solo/Duo may have a different result there. Do not use the Solo/Duo result as a rule for Flex games.
If your preferred queue does not allow the selected combination, check the queue type in the League of Legends client before changing your plans. The available options can also depend on current Riot rules and future ranked updates.
Common Duo Rank Questions
Can I duo with a higher rank?
Sometimes. The allowed difference depends on your tier and division. Select your rank in the calculator to see whether the higher-ranked account is listed.
Why is my friend not listed?
Your friend may be outside the allowed rank range, or the queue may use different rules. Check both accounts and make sure you are comparing Solo/Duo with Solo/Duo.
Does the calculator cover every rank?
It covers the ranked tiers from Iron through Challenger used in the calculator. Higher ranks may have special duo restrictions, so read the displayed result carefully.
Can I use this for Flex Queue?
No. The calculator is for Solo/Duo compatibility. Flex Queue has separate matchmaking rules and should be checked independently.
Can ranked rules change?
Yes. Riot Games may adjust queue restrictions in later updates. This calculator is marked for the 2025 rules, so check the current client if a future patch changes ranked matchmaking.
Check Before You Invite
Select your rank, review the compatible duo ranks, and share the result with your friend. This simple check can prevent queue errors and make it clear whether Solo/Duo or another queue is the better option.
