LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends duo restrictions can make it difficult to queue with a friend. The allowed rank gap depends on your tier and, in some cases, your division. Instead of checking several rule tables, select your rank in the calculator and view the compatible partners in one place.
The tool covers the Solo/Duo ladder from Iron to Challenger. It is designed for a quick check before you send an invite, especially when two accounts have recently changed rank or division.
How to check duo compatibility
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current League of Legends rank.
- Review the ranks shown as available duo partners.
- Copy the result if you want to share it with your friend.
If no suitable partner appears, the selected ranks cannot queue together in the Solo/Duo queue under the rule set used by the calculator. Reset the selector to check another rank.
Solo/Duo rank restrictions
The calculator groups the ladder into several rule areas. The exact result depends on the rank selected and, for some tiers, the division.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver duo rules
Iron, Bronze, and Silver use a wider tier range than the higher parts of the ladder. A player can generally queue with partners up to two tiers higher within the supported Solo/Duo rules. The calculator displays the allowed ranks for the selected account rather than requiring you to work out the gap manually.
Gold and Platinum duo rules
Gold and Platinum players use a narrower range around their current tier. The result can include a rank one tier above or below, depending on the selected rank. Use the calculator for the exact list instead of relying on a broad example.
Emerald and Diamond duo rules
Emerald and Diamond have stricter division-based restrictions. Players may need to be within a limited number of divisions, and the result can change when one player crosses a division boundary. This is where a visual rank list is especially useful.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger rules
The highest ranks have the strictest Solo/Duo conditions. Master has limited compatible partners, while Grandmaster and Challenger are treated as solo-only in the rule set used by this calculator. Check the selected rank before planning a ranked session.
Solo/Duo and Flex queue differences
This calculator is focused on Solo/Duo queue. Flex queue follows a different set of restrictions and is more flexible for many rank combinations.
- Diamond and below: Flex allows a broader range of ranks to play together.
- Master and above: all players must meet the higher minimum rank requirement shown in the Flex rules.
Being able to play together in Flex does not mean the same ranks are allowed in Solo/Duo. Always check the queue type before comparing the results.
Why rank compatibility matters
Rank restrictions are part of ranked matchmaking. They limit large skill gaps and help keep games more balanced. They also prevent a player from assuming that a friend can join simply because both accounts are active in the same ranked season.
Checking first can save time during a gaming session. It also avoids last-minute queue problems when one player is at the edge of a tier or division. If the ranks are not compatible, Flex may be an alternative when its requirements are met.
Common duo rank questions
Can I duo with any rank in League of Legends?
No. Solo/Duo has rank restrictions. The allowed range depends on your tier and, for some ranks, your division. Select your rank in the calculator to see the supported partners.
Does the calculator cover Challenger?
Yes. The calculator includes the ranked ladder from Iron through Challenger. The highest ranks have special restrictions, so their results may show no available duo partners.
Are Flex and Solo/Duo rules the same?
No. Flex queue is generally more flexible, while Solo/Duo uses stricter compatibility rules. The results from this page apply to the Solo/Duo queue.
What if my friend is only one division away?
Division boundaries matter for Emerald and Diamond, and other rank combinations can have their own limits. Use the calculator with your exact rank rather than judging the result by tier name alone.
Check before you queue
Select your rank, review the allowed partners, and share the result with your duo partner. A quick check can prevent an unnecessary queue attempt and show whether Solo/Duo or Flex is the better option for your group.
