LoL Duo Rank Calculator 2025
League of Legends Solo/Duo queue does not allow every rank combination. The permitted range depends on your tier, division, and in some cases whether you are near the top of the ranked ladder.
Choose one rank in the calculator to see the ranks that can queue with it. The tool is designed for a quick check before you invite a friend, especially when a visible rank gap makes the rules difficult to remember.
Why Solo/Duo Queue Has Rank Limits
Rank limits help keep matchmaking closer to the skill range expected for the queue. Without restrictions, a much higher-ranked player could regularly queue with a lower-ranked account and create uneven matches.
The exact rule depends on the selected rank. That is why checking the specific rank is more useful than relying on a general rule such as “one tier apart.”
How to Use the Duo Rank Calculator
- Open the rank selector.
- Choose your current Solo/Duo rank.
- Read the displayed list of allowed partners.
- Use the copy button if you want to send the result to your duo partner.
The calculator separates normal divisions from the higher-rank cases where the available queue options become more limited.
Solo/Duo Rank Rules for 2025
Iron, Bronze, and Silver
Under the calculator’s 2025 rule set, Iron, Bronze, and Silver players can queue with partners up to two tiers higher. The exact result still depends on the selected division, so use the calculator for the full list.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and Platinum players are generally limited to partners within one tier above or below their own tier. Selecting the exact rank will show the permitted divisions for that rank.
Emerald and Diamond
Emerald and Diamond use tighter division-based limits. Some Emerald and Diamond combinations are allowed, but the full range depends on the division selected. This is one of the cases where the calculator is more reliable than a broad tier-based shortcut.
Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger
Higher ranks have special restrictions. Master can queue with Master and Diamond I under the listed rules. Grandmaster and Challenger are treated as solo-only for the calculator’s 2025 rule set.
Solo/Duo and Flex Queue Differences
This calculator covers Solo/Duo queue, not every ranked queue. Flex queue uses different group restrictions, so a combination that is unavailable in Solo/Duo may not follow the same rule in Flex.
For the Flex rules included with this page, Diamond and lower have broader rank compatibility. At Master and above, the listed requirement is that all players are Emerald or higher. Check the queue type before assuming that a Solo/Duo result applies to Flex.
When to Check Rank Compatibility
- Before sending a ranked invite to a friend.
- After one player reaches a new tier or division.
- When a party member has a Master, Grandmaster, or Challenger rank.
- When you are deciding between Solo/Duo and Flex queue.
- When the client rejects a duo invitation without a clear explanation.
Common Duo Queue Mistakes
A common mistake is checking only the visible tier and ignoring the division. Emerald and Diamond restrictions can change across divisions, so “we are both Diamond” is not always enough information.
Another mistake is using Flex queue rules for Solo/Duo. The two queues do not use the same compatibility limits. Select the correct rank and queue before making a decision.
