Horadric Cube Tricks in Diablo 4 Season 15

Diablo 4 Season 15 hides several powerful crafting options inside the Horadric Cube. You can assemble rune words, upgrade missing runes, protect valuable Greater Affixes, force all-skills amulets, improve charms and seals, and unlock an additional pinnacle encounter with Wirt’s Coin.

This guide covers eight Horadric Cube tricks, along with the materials, limitations, and best-use cases for each one.

1. Craft powerful rune words from ordinary base items

Season 15 brings rune words inspired by Diablo 2 into Diablo 4. Their recipes are shown in the Horadric Cube, including the required runes, base item, and resulting bonuses. Rune words can be made in suitable white items, including ancestral bases and items with Greater Affixes where applicable.

Enigma: the evade teleport chest

Place the following into the Cube:

• Jah rune
• Ith rune
• Ber rune
• A white chest armor, preferably ancestral

The result is Enigma. Its major benefits include:

• An evade that functions as a Sorcerer-style teleport
• +2 to all skills
• Damage reduction
• Movement speed
• Percentage maximum life

The old method of combining three rune words to gain Enigma’s teleport effect no longer works. Enigma must be crafted with its own Jah, Ith, and Ber recipe.

Other useful rune words

• Stealth: Uses Tal and Eth in a white chest piece. It no longer provides teleport, but still offers attack speed, movement speed, damage reduction, maximum life, armor, and resistance.
• Spirit: A strong choice for shield users, providing all skills, attack speed, maximum life, and maximum resource.
• Call to Arms: Particularly valuable for Barbarians who use shouts because it grants five ranks to all skills.
• Rain: Suited to Druids, with five ranks to Nature Magic skills and a chance to cast tornadoes.

Before crafting, check the Cube’s recipe list and confirm that the base item is compatible. A white item with suitable item power is usually the safest starting point, while an ancestral base can provide a better long-term result.

2. Farm runes from Prime Evils and Under City tributes

Runes can drop throughout the world, including Helltides and activities connected to the Tree of Whispers. However, Prime Evils are the most reliable high-end source described for Season 15.

At Torment 10, Prime Evil portals change from yellow to red and provide the higher Hell difficulty. You should be strong enough for Torment 12 before treating these encounters as a regular farming route.

Prime Evils can provide:

• Runes
• Mythic items
• Mythical Seals
• Greater Affix items

You do not need to defeat a specific Prime Evil for a particular rune. Repeatedly farming one boss is enough to build a varied rune supply. Baal is especially convenient because Worldstone Keep can be speed-run in around two minutes or less with an efficient route.

When you need more runes, use Under City Tributes of Harmony. These tributes can produce legendary and rare runes. Lesser Tributes of Harmony can be combined into larger versions through Cube amalgamation, while the Alchemist can craft the lesser tributes using Runic Dust.

Runic Dust comes from dismantling Infernal Compasses and Nightmare Dungeon keys, so salvage surplus keys and compasses instead of allowing them to occupy your inventory.

3. Convert and upgrade runes instead of waiting for a specific drop

A missing rune does not necessarily mean that a rune word must wait. The Cube lets you convert lower-tier materials into the rune you need, provided you have enough supporting resources.

How to work toward a missing rune

1. Open the Horadric Cube and scroll through the rune recipes.
2. Check the conversion path for the rune you are missing.
3. Combine lower-tier runes and the listed catalyst or gem.
4. Repeat the process until you reach the required rune.

For example, the described conversion path allows two Lo runes and a Grand Crupis to produce a Ber rune. Two Ohm runes combined with a Flawless Diamond can produce a Lo rune. The exact conversion path should always be checked in the Cube before spending materials.

Rare and legendary ritual runes can also be used to craft higher-tier runes. One listed recipe requires five rare runes, five legendary ritual runes, and one Cham to create a Jah. If you lack the required legendary runes, Under City Tributes of Harmony are a practical way to fill the gap.

4. Recycle unwanted magic and rare runes through amalgamation

Low-level runes that have no use for your build do not need to be discarded. The Cube can transform them into other runes.

Magic rune conversion

Three magic runes can be transmuted into another random magic rune. This is not a targeted method, but it is useful when your inventory is full of low-value runes and you are willing to gamble for a better result.

Rare rune amalgamation

Amalgamation can also turn unwanted rare runes into another random rare rune. For example, five unwanted rare runes can be combined into a new rare rune, which may then be used in a later conversion recipe.

Use this system when:

• You have surplus magic or rare runes.
• You are not close to a guaranteed targeted conversion.
• You want to consolidate unused materials before a rune-word project.

Do not spend five rare runes on amalgamation if you can use those same five runes in a guaranteed higher-tier recipe. Targeted upgrading is generally more efficient than random conversion.

5. Lock a valuable Greater Affix before rerolling

One of the most important Cube techniques is protecting a good affix before using focused rerolls. This is especially useful when crafting gloves or other items that need several offensive affixes.

How to lock an affix

1. Take the item to the Occultist.
2. Select the affix you want to preserve.
3. Enchant it and choose “no change.”
4. Return to the Horadric Cube.
5. Remove unwanted affixes using the appropriate tuning prism.
6. Add a new affix and use focused rerolls.

Once an affix has been locked this way, it cannot be removed during the Cube process. This allows you to reroll the remaining slot without risking the valuable affix.

For example, suppose gloves already have high critical strike damage, but also contain life regeneration and life on hit. Both defensive affixes can be removed. Locking critical strike damage first ensures that focused rerolls target the new offensive slot rather than replacing the critical damage you wanted to keep.

You can then add another offensive affix, such as attack speed, vulnerable damage, or another stat suited to your build. Continue removing and adding affixes until the item contains the desired combination.

When to use Affix Value Reroll

Affix Value Reroll randomizes the values of all base affixes at once. It does not replace the affixes themselves. The process costs tuned Primordial Dust, so it should be reserved for items that are already structurally correct but have poor rolls.

Use it when several base affixes are weak and you are comfortable rerolling all of their values together. If only one affix is bad, locking the good affixes and rerolling the remaining slot is usually more controlled.

Remember that locking an affix prevents normal Occultist rerolling of that affix later. Decide whether the protection is worth losing that flexibility before committing materials.

6. Force an all-skills amulet with controlled rerolls

All Skills is one of the most valuable amulet affixes because it improves every skill rather than only one category. The Cube provides a method for repeatedly targeting it while preserving an important skill bonus.

Recommended amulet process

1. Place the amulet in the Cube.
2. Add the Core Skills affix using an Adapt Tuning Prism.
3. Add a core-stat affix, such as Willpower where appropriate.
4. Use another affix slot to pursue All Skills.
5. At the Occultist, lock Core Skills by selecting it and choosing “no change.”
6. Return to the Cube and remove the core-stat affix.
7. Use focused rerolls on the remaining unlocked affix.
8. Keep removing and adding the slot until All Skills appears.

Because Core Skills is locked, focused rerolls cannot replace it. When the other unwanted affix is removed, you can add it again and continue targeting All Skills. This method may require several attempts, but it is safer than repeatedly rerolling all three affixes at once.

Once the amulet has All Skills and the desired skill-category bonus, reroll the remaining stat into the most useful option for your build. Possible priorities include a core stat, critical damage, or another offensive multiplier.

After finishing the base affixes, masterwork the amulet and look for useful Greater Affix upgrades. The source method is most valuable when you are building around a specific skill category and want both that bonus and All Skills on the same item.

7. Improve charms and seals with rerolls and transmutation

Charms and seals have their own Cube options. These systems are useful when you are missing one important charm, need more ranks for a skill category, or have a good item with weak affix values.

Charm reroll options

There are two main ways to improve a charm:

• Reroll Set Charm: Attempts to produce a different charm and costs less Primordial Dust than the targeted Horadric option described below.
• Horadric Reroll: Keeps the charm’s identity while repeatedly rerolling its result, giving you a better chance to pursue a stronger version of a charm you already need.

Horadric Reroll costs Primordial Dust and 100 infused Horadric Resin, while Reroll Set Charm costs 50 infused Horadric Resin. If you are missing several charms, Reroll Set Charm gives you more opportunities to complete the set. If you already have nearly every charm and only need a better version of one specific charm, Horadric Reroll can be more efficient.

Three charms can also be transmuted into one random charm. This is a gamble, but it can help complete a set quickly when duplicate charms have no further value.

Seal transmutation and affix values

For seals, the three-to-one transmute is still the best way to pursue a seal with an additional charm slot. Combine three seals and hope for the desired result.

Once you obtain a seal with the correct property, Affix Value Reroll can improve the number attached to that property. It changes the value rather than changing the nature of the affix. For example, a seal with All Stats can receive a better All Stats roll, but it will not become a completely different affix through this process.

Use Primordial Dust carefully. It can be earned through War Plans, Under City activities involving Horadric Cube materials, and Nightmare Dungeons with the Material Reserve modifier. Escalating Nightmare Dungeons are recommended over normal Nightmare Dungeons because their rewards are higher.

8. Combine the three splinters to unlock Wirt’s Coin

The largest hidden Cube recipe combines three special splinters:

• Splinter of Destruction
• Splinter of Terror
• Splinter of Hatred

Transmuting all three creates Wirt’s Coin. Take the coin to the appropriate fountain and use it to enter Deckard Cain’s memory, which leads to a Diablo III Tristram-themed area.

The process unlocks another pinnacle boss encounter with powerful loot. The full chain involves more than simply placing the three splinters into the Cube, so keep the splinters instead of salvaging or discarding them when you find them.

This is a long-term objective rather than a quick crafting shortcut. Store the splinters safely, gather the required materials, and complete the remaining steps once all three are available.

Season 15 Horadric Cube checklist

• Check rune-word recipes before choosing a base item.
• Use Prime Evils and Under City Tributes of Harmony to build a rune supply.
• Convert lower-tier runes instead of waiting for a specific drop.
• Use amalgamation for surplus magic and rare runes, but prefer guaranteed recipes when possible.

The most important principle is to plan the entire crafting sequence before spending materials. Lock the affixes you cannot afford to lose, use targeted conversions whenever available, and reserve random transmutations for surplus materials or missing collection pieces.
