Everything to do This WEEK in WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7

WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7 is titled Revelations, and the first week has several important unlocks. Your main goals are to open the new quest chains, unlock the Omnium Folio, reach the rotating zone, and start mount achievement progress.

  • Start point: Silvermoon City;
  • Core unlock: Omnium Folio borrowed power system;
  • Weekly zone: Night Tel is active this week, while Val rotates in next week;
  • Important warning: kill the world boss on Heroic if you want Heroic rewards.

Start in Silvermoon City

As soon as you begin the patch in Silvermoon City, check your quest log for The Time to Strike. Follow the quest marker, speak with Mela, and hand it in to open the first batch of follow-up quests for the Revelations content.

The Time to Strike and Recruitment Quests

After turning in The Time to Strike, Mela gives access to Stalkers of the Stars and Veterans of the Great Dark. These quests send you around Silvermoon City and are mostly introductory tasks.

  • One quest asks you to speak with several NPCs around the city;
  • Another quest has you running over shadow targets to complete the objective;
  • Once both are finished, return to Mela and hand them in;
  • The next step sends you toward Void Storm, but you should unlock the Omnium Folio before moving on.

Unlock the Omnium Folio

Before traveling to Void Storm, pick up Magister’s Missive if you have not already done so. This quest sends you to Thalassian University for the Omnium Folio, which is the new borrowed power system introduced in Patch 12.0.7.

  • Go to the marked Silvermoon location and find Magister Umbric;
  • Follow his portal and continue the quest objective inside the building;
  • Return downstairs when required and defeat the enemies tied to the quest objectives;
  • Complete the follow-up steps in the Isle of Quel’Danas and Eversong Woods;
  • Use the portal back to the main location and speak with Umbric to unlock the Omnium Folio.

How Weekly Folio Power Works

After the unlock questline, you receive the first Seeking Knowledge quest. This is week one of five, so you need to return each week to continue progressing through the Omnium Folio tiers.

  • Open the Omnium Folio from the large button on your mini-map;
  • Choose between the two available powers for your current tier;
  • There are five tiers total, with one new unlock earned each week;
  • The powers last for the entire Midnight expansion;
  • The unlocks are warbound, so completing them once also helps your alts.

Void Storm Portal and World Tiers

Once the Silvermoon and Omnium Folio steps are handled, continue the quest that sends you to Void Storm. Complete the objectives at the marked location to unlock the portal into the rotating world-tier area.

  • The portal offers Normal and Heroic difficulty;
  • After unlocking it, a matching portal appears in Silvermoon City;
  • This week the active location is Night Tel;
  • Next week the rotation changes to Val, the frozen tundra location.

The Silvermoon portal is important because it saves you from returning to Void Storm every time. Use it for world boss attempts, yellow quest chains, world quests, rare farming, and heroic world-tier achievement progress.

Normal vs Heroic World Boss Rewards

The world boss is one of the most valuable weekly objectives, but the difficulty matters. If you kill it on Normal, you only receive Champion-level rewards. If you want Heroic items, enter the zone on Heroic and kill the boss there.

  • Heroic world boss kills can drop Heroic gear;
  • World boss gear can be warbound, making it useful for alts;
  • The kill also gives 15 Dawn Crests and 15 Heroic Dawn Crests;
  • Remember to loot the boss body directly, because the emblem drop is not something you want to miss.

Night Tel and Val Rotation Goals

When you arrive at the active weekly location, start with the yellow quests at the base camp. These send you around the map and naturally line up with world quests, rare kills, storm events, and the achievement chains needed for the new mounts.

Consortium Vendor Mounts

At the base camp, look for the Consortium vendor. The vendor sells three mounts, with two tied to the rotating zone meta achievements and one tied to Heroic Showdowns.

Midnight Mounts from Consortium:

  • Netherforged Nelframe: Purchased for 15 Void-Light Moral after completing A Trip Through the Stars.
  • Voidmancer’s Star Carver: A void-style hoverboard purchased for 15 Void-Light Moral after completing A Trip Around the Stars.
  • Tortured Gorger: Earned through the larger Heroic Showdowns achievement collection.

Trip Through the Stars and Trip Around the Stars

A Trip Through the Stars focuses on completing the Night Tel side of the rotation. Because Night Tel is active this week, you should finish as many of its achievement requirements as possible before the map changes.

  • Discover the active map areas;
  • Complete the required Night Tel questlines;
  • Dissipate five storms for the Climate Strange achievement;
  • Defeat six rare creatures for Showdown Slugger;
  • Complete eight different world quests for Showdown Success.

A Trip Around the Stars is the matching Val achievement path. Val becomes active next week, so use this week to finish Night Tel progress and make next week’s mount chase much easier.

Heroic Showdowns and Tortured Gorger

The Tortured Gorger mount is tied to Heroic Showdowns. This is a longer achievement collection built around Heroic world tier, so start early if you want the mount without rushing later.

Heroic Showdowns for Tortured Gorger:

  • Heroic Showdowns: Complete 15 world quests in Heroic world tier across both rotating locations.
  • Heroic Power Creep: Defeat 10 creatures with the required affixes in Heroic world tier.
  • Heroic Pain of Command: Defeat the world bosses on Heroic, including the Nexus-Captain in Night Tel and Imperator Shek’zera in Val.
  • Heroic Climate Strange: Dissipate five storms in each location on Heroic world tier.
  • Heroic Slugger: Defeat 15 rare creatures on Heroic world tier across both zones.

For this week, enter Heroic as soon as you can, kill the world boss, complete world quests you have not done before, and use an addon such as RareScanner to track rare creatures. When you are finished, return through the portal at the base camp to Silvermoon or Void Storm.

Tier 6 Ritual Site Weekly

Ritual Sites also received a new difficulty tier in Patch 12.0.7. This week’s Ritual Site is in Eversong Woods, and an NPC outside the site offers the weekly quest Ritual Site Studies.

  • The quest rewards a Nebulous Void Core;
  • You must disrupt two Tier 6 Ritual Sites;
  • The Reinforcements challenge must be active;
  • Tier 6 requires selecting six challenges before starting the ritual site.

This weekly is worth doing because Nebulous Void Cores matter for bonus rolls and other patch progression. If the Tier 6 version feels rough, bring a coordinated group rather than relying on a random group.

Sporeful Raid and Rotmier

Patch 12.0.7 adds a new one-boss raid called Sporeful. The boss is Rotmier, and the related quest can be picked up in Silvermoon City near the portal to Harandor.

  • The quest simply asks you to defeat Rotmier;
  • The raid entrance is in Harandor, near the garage pit area;
  • If you are not doing organized raiding, queue through Raid Finder and search for Sporeful;
  • The raid has only one boss, so it is quick to clear.

Rotmier LFR Strategy

Rotmier is a very simple encounter, especially in LFR. Most groups should be able to clear it on the first attempt as long as players react to the basic mechanics.

Rotmier Basic Strategy:

  • Big green circles: Move them out toward the corners.
  • Bursting Shrooms: Destroy as many as possible before they explode.
  • Adds: Kill the spawned adds quickly.
  • Boss damage: After handling mechanics, keep damaging Rotmier until the fight ends.

Luminous Spore Glider and Bonus Rolls

The main collectible from Sporeful is the Luminous Spore Glider mount. To unlock it, loot Delicious Spore Snacks from Rotmier and collect four of them.

  • Do not leave the raid before looting the boss;
  • Bonus rolling on Rotmier costs two Nebulous Void Cores;
  • If you plan to push Mythic raid content, save enough cores before spending them on bonus rolls;
  • Run the boss weekly until you finish the mount requirement.

Lorewalking: Loa of the Kings

The final new activity available this week is the new Lorewalking campaign. In Silvermoon City, find Li Li sitting on a bench and speak with her to begin the Loa of the Kings story.

  • Complete the story for its achievement;
  • Your first completion rewards a housing decor item;
  • This is a low-pressure activity and can be done after the main weekly power and loot objectives.

Future Patch 12.0.7 Unlocks

Not everything in Patch 12.0.7 is available immediately. Two major pieces arrive later: the Turbulent Timeways event and the main Revelations campaign story update.

Turbulent Timeways Dates and Mount

Turbulent Timeways begins on July 1 for EU realms and June 30 for US realms. The event lasts six weeks and rewards the Spawn of Vyranoth mount for players who keep up with the event requirements.

  • Earn the Mastery of the Timeways buff every week;
  • Maintain progress for four weeks of the event;
  • Complete the Turbulent Timeways 5 achievement;
  • Claim the frost dragon-style mount once the requirements are complete.

Revelations Campaign Release Dates

The main Revelations campaign does not launch during the first week of the patch. EU realms get it on July 8, while US realms get it on July 7.

  • This means the story arrives around three weeks after the patch opens;
  • Use the first weeks to finish Omnium Folio progress, rotating zone goals, and mount achievements;
  • Return each reset so you do not fall behind on weekly unlocks.

Weekly Checklist for Patch 12.0.7

If you only want the short version, focus on the activities that create weekly progress or limited rotation progress first. The biggest mistakes are skipping Omnium Folio week one, killing the world boss on Normal instead of Heroic, and ignoring Night Tel achievements before Val rotates in.

  • Complete The Time to Strike and Mela’s follow-up quests in Silvermoon;
  • Pick up Magister’s Missive and unlock the Omnium Folio;
  • Start week one of Seeking Knowledge for Folio progression;
  • Go to Void Storm and unlock the rotating zone portal;
  • Enter Heroic world tier before killing the weekly world boss;
  • Finish Night Tel quests, world quests, rare kills, and storm achievements;
  • Complete two Tier 6 Ritual Sites with Reinforcements active;
  • Kill Rotmier in Sporeful and loot Delicious Spore Snacks;
  • Complete the Loa of the Kings Lorewalking campaign;
  • Save enough Nebulous Void Cores if you need bonus rolls later.
