Path of Exile 2: BEST Warrior Leveling Build
What’s happening, y’all? Librarian Husky here with a powerful warrior leveling guide for Path of Exile 2.
Warrior Leveling Guide for Path of Exile 2
I’ve prepared two Variations of high-damage builds that you can choose from for a full campaign clear with any ascendancy.
So, as always, we’re going to start with the abilities. On max royal, you’ll find two variations of this build. Variation number one consists of all the warrior abilities, while variation number two allows you to cheese your way through the campaign with the rake build. Leap slam and bone shatter are the key abilities in this build, working as a combo to deal massive damage.
Key Abilities: Leap Slam and Bone Shatter
Leap slam is used to jump in the air, knocking back and damaging everything you land on. Pair it with bone shatter to completely annihilate any remaining foes. To enhance leap slam, three support gems are crucial. Marshall Tempo increases attack speed by 20%, allowing for more frequent leaps. Brink prevents leap slam from stunning the target completely, ensuring the target is primed for stun by bone shatter. Overpower provides a 50% boost to stun buildup, synergizing with leap slam’s existing stun buildup mechanics.
The combination of these abilities creates a devastating damage output, making it a formidable choice for leveling in Path of Exile 2.
Understanding Stun Mechanics
But why would you need over 100% stun buildup if we’re not going to allow it to stun? Because bone shatter comes into the picture. Bone Shatter is a strike that will cause heavy stun on enemies that are primed for stun. If you don’t know what primed for stun is, it’s this right here. Normal enemies are primed for stun when they have at least 40% heavy stun buildup. Magic enemies are at 50%, rares at 60, and uniques at 70. And leap slam. The way that we have the stun buildup, it means that every single time you land, almost everything around you is going to get hit by primed for stun, which then you use bone shatter to completely destroy everything that’s left.
The support gems on bone shatter are also very important because you’re going to start things off with magnified effect so you can have 30% more area of effect. And you’re going to follow up with impact shockwave, which is the most important one on bone shatter because it’s going to create an additional shock wave when they heavy stun an enemy, dealing the same damage to enemies. And I said an additional aftershock because bone shatter provides its own shock wave that deals tons of damage because of the primed for stun.
But these two abilities are the main way that you’re going to go through the campaign. Now, for bossing, we’ve got things like perfect strike. Perfect strike is not an ability you just click once. It’s an ability that you actually hold because it’s channeling. And if you release it in the moment that it’s fully charged, it’s going to release a wave of fire, which is the main way that you deal damage for it.
So, once you click and you hold onto the ability, it’s going to start charging. And whenever you see that glow towards the end, it’s going to be a perfect strike, which is going to deal so much more damage. If we look at the ability, the normal strike is going to convert 40% of physical damage to fire damage. If we look at the perfect strike, it also converts 40% physical damage. The attack damage here is almost at a 1000% more. So, it’s a really, really good ability for the campaign at least. The support gems that we want here are fire infusion for 25% extra fire damage. We don’t really care about the other two elements. And lastly, we’ve got primal arament for 25% more elemental damage.
The next ability is shockwave. This is an ability that I really liked whenever I was leveling. It helped out. This is a totem that you put in the ground and it repeatedly damages nearby enemies. And the support gems that we want here are things like ancestral urgency for 80% increased totem placement speed and font of rage so you can be able to gain some rage when you’re actually using it. Usually this you want to use it on bosses as well so you can gain some rage while you’re perfecting striking them down.
Next, we’ve got our Infernal Cry. This ability is what you use to empower your next ability. You can use Infernal Cry just before you leap slam.

Enhancing Your Abilities
In the realm of enhancing your abilities, it’s crucial to understand the synergy between different skills and support gems. By strategically combining support gems such as magnified effect, impact Shockwave, fire infusion, and primal arament, you can significantly boost your damage output and efficiency in combat scenarios.
Perfect strike, with its unique channeling mechanics and fire damage conversion, offers a powerful tool for dealing substantial damage to foes, especially during boss encounters. The meticulous timing required for executing a perfect strike adds a layer of skill and precision to your gameplay, rewarding players who master its intricacies.
Shockwave totems and Infernal Cry further diversify your arsenal, providing additional avenues for crowd control and empowering your subsequent attacks. Leveraging the benefits of ancestral urgency and font of rage amplifies the effectiveness of these abilities, offering tactical advantages in various combat situations.
By honing your understanding of these abilities and their synergies, you can elevate your gameplay experience and tackle challenging encounters with greater finesse and effectiveness. Experimenting with different combinations of skills and support gems allows you to tailor your playstyle to suit your preferences and optimize your performance in the campaign’s diverse battles.
Optimizing Skills and Gear for Maximum Effectiveness
You can employ Infernal Cry strategically before executing Bone Shatter or utilize it against bosses right before a Perfect Strike. Two crucial support gems to acquire early are Raging Cry, granting more rage based on enemy difficulty, and Enrage War Cry, utilizing rage to boost damage output by up to 30%.
Furthermore, incorporating the Herald of Ash aura will cause fiery explosions upon overkilling enemies. Overkill occurs when you deal excess damage beyond an enemy’s remaining health, triggering Herald of Ash to explode and inflict damage in the vicinity. These skills are fundamental from Act One to Act Three in the standard campaign.
When considering gear, prioritize items with attributes such as armor, maximum life, strength, and resistance. Seek out helmets, chest pieces, belts, boots, and gloves with these attributes. Additionally, focus on rings with flat physical or fire damage, maximum life, strength, and resistance. Amulets should ideally feature armor, mana, melee skill level, and strength attributes. For weapons, prioritize two-handed maces with high physical damage, flat damage bonuses, elemental damage enhancements, and strength attributes to enhance overall performance.
Transitioning to the late-game build entails retaining the core strategy while incorporating additional support gems and skills to further enhance your character’s capabilities.
Optimizing Skills and Abilities
For example, leap slam keeps marshall tempo, brink, and overpower, but now you want to add cadence. Cadence is going to increase your attack speed by 8% every single time you use leap slam. And at that point, you’re going to be dealing so much damage that you’re going to be actually spamming it. Bone Shatter is going to keep impact shockwave magnified effect, but now it’s going to have armor explosion that’s going to convert 100% of your physical damage to fire damage, dealing even more damage with bone shatter. And lastly, we’ve got reach for that extra 35% more area of effect. That’s right, we’re going to have both magnified effect and reach in here. It’s going to be super OP, the area of effect that you need for your campaign.
Obviously, there’s 80% less accuracy. If you miss with bone shatter, nothing’s going to happen. But we will counter this with a passive skill spell that we’re going to see in a second in the notes that’s going to actually allow you to never ever miss. So, it’s fine having region here. Perfect strike remains with fire infusion like before and primal armament. And now we’re going to add window of opportunity. It says 35% shorter perfect timing window and deals 35% more damage when you release the perfect timing. So, at that point, you will need to become better at hitting every single perfect strike that you can, and bosses are seriously going to melt.
And the last support gem that we have here, if you can get to the fourth slot, is eternal flame. 100% increase ignite duration of enemies whenever you hit them. So, this is going to cause them to burn and you will deal more damage because through the passive tree, we will be able to pick up attack damage based on burning enemies or ignited enemies. So, this works perfectly for the strategy we’re going to put into the passive tree.
Next, shockwave totem remains in the build with ancestral urgency into a font of rage like before. And now we’re going to have lacerate. 50% chance to inflict bleeding. I mean, why not? It doesn’t do anything. It costs a little bit extra mana, but it’s fine if we can put it down there and have the boss bleed and ignite as well while we’re trying to land the perfect strikes. It’s going to help us melt the bosses faster. We’ve got a brand new ability added here, one of the most exciting ones for us to try. Hammer of the Gods. Hammer of the Gods is built by glory by heavy stunning enemies. Guess what? We don’t have an issue with glory because every single leap slam, bone shatter, leap slap, bone shatter is going to be heavy stunning them or just killing anything. And whenever you reach maximum glory, you’re going to be able to release this massive hammer of the gods that’s going to fall from the sky dealing a ton of damage.

Enhancing Combos and Strategies
The combination of cadence and bone shatter introduces a dynamic approach to combat, amplifying your attack speed and converting physical damage to fire damage. Reach further enhances your area of effect, creating a potent synergy that boosts your overall effectiveness in battles. While precision is crucial, the addition of window of opportunity demands a sharper focus on timing, maximizing damage output with each strike.
Eternal flame emerges as a valuable asset, prolonging enemy ignite duration and leveraging additional damage opportunities. Integrating lacerate into your arsenal adds a bleeding effect, complementing the overall strategy of wearing down opponents. The introduction of Hammer of the Gods presents an exciting offensive capability, utilizing stunning techniques to unleash devastating attacks and secure victories in challenging encounters.
Optimizing Support Gems for Enhanced Damage
The support gems crucial for maximizing damage output include Fist of War, Ancestrally Boosted for a brief 6-second damage boost, Heavy Swing for a significant 35% physical damage increase, Imolate for additional damage, and Concentrated Effect for wider area damage coverage.
Enhancing Auras and Cries
Enhancing our Herald of Ash aura with Deadly Herald further amplifies its effects. With Infernal Cry supported by Raging Cry and Rage War Cry, adding Premeditation for 15% more empowered ability damage and Tireless for a 30% chance to maintain empowerment count enhances combat effectiveness, especially against formidable foes.

Fortifying Defensive Strategies
Introducing a new defensive aura, Scavenged Plating, bolstered by Persistence for 40% longer skill effect duration, aids in fortifying your defenses. This aura, triggered by fully breaking enemy armor, grants protective stacks based on enemy rarity, enhancing your armor and thorns, crucial for sustaining prolonged battles.
Mastering the Raise Shield Technique
Unlocking the Raise Shield ability through the specialized passive skill node Giant‘s Blood provides a tactical advantage for shield users. By seamlessly integrating Leap Slam with Raise Shield, you can swiftly recover from the animation delay, ensuring continuous movement and faster combat response times. This technique not only streamlines your attacks but also optimizes damage output, especially during intense boss encounters.
Enhancing Damage Output
You might need some extra damage. And the way that we get the extra damage is from the passive tree that we’re going to see in a second where you deal a lot more damage on two things. One, burning enemies, and we do ignite them with the support gems that we saw. And the second one is you deal a ton more damage on heavily stunned enemies.
So the rotation on bosses can change to starting with shockwave totem. Then you can leap slam one or two times. Don’t forget about ray shield. Whenever the boss is primed to stun, you bone shatter. That’s going to heavy stun them. And then you infernal cry and you perfect strike them. Make sure that you hit that perfect strike. If you have hammer of gods by that time, use hammer of god as well. That’s the full rotation and it’s not mandatory for you to use the entire thing.
Most of the times I just walked up to the boss, put the shockwave totem, hit them with perfect strike once or twice. That got them primed for stun, bone shattered, and then used my cry into another perfect strike. Whatever actually gets to kill the boss. Again, it all depends on your gear.
And speaking of gear, the choices here remain very, very similar to the previous one. As we can see, the helmet has armor. It’s got some mana because at this point, you might be struggling a little bit with mana, fire resistance, and regeneration. The chest, I went with a full plate, whatever I could find. But don’t forget, I did go for Smith of Kitava. We’re going to look at the choices later on. But because of this ascendancy, I decided to go for the full chest nodes right here. That’s why you see this, but you can go for anything that’s close to this plate right here. Just enhance the mods a little bit more to update to a better chest. Then for the belt, I’ve got the Inferno class plate belt. Once again, I chose to go this because I went for the Smith of Kitava. You can look at the early main build belt and try and build it from there. The most important change here is the shield, of course. We’re adding another piece of gear, which is going to be a shield.
Building Defenses and Damage
You’re seeking to maximize block chance, fire resistance, chaos resistance, and other defensive stats. These aspects are crucial for your protection. While your build boasts impressive damage output, it lacks a bit in terms of tankiness. Incorporating a shield into your setup significantly enhances your survivability.
When it comes to optimizing the passive tree for this build variation, the approach is relatively straightforward. You have the flexibility to choose your preferred ascendancy. Opting for the Smith of Kitava and allocating your initial four points sets a solid foundation. Prioritize coal stoker followed by forged and flame. These choices are strategic because any boost in fire resistance from your gear also bolsters your cold and lightning resistances by 50%. Subsequently, investing in forged and flame amplifies your maximum resistances, allowing you to surpass the standard 75% cap based on your additional maximum resistance values. If you acquire all eight initial points and pursue the Smith of Kitava route, consider selecting leather binding for its benefits like increased life regeneration, added physical damage to hits taken as fire damage, enhanced strength, and increased maximum life.
Examining the passive tree reveals the build’s capabilities. Emphasizing melee damage and stun mechanics enhances your offensive potential and improves your crowd control capabilities. Nodes such as burn away are essential for augmenting fire damage and overcoming fire resistance. Progressing along this path strengthens your armor penetration abilities. Noteworthy clusters, particularly one focused on area of effect and attack area damage, significantly boost your leap slam’s efficiency, enabling swift campaign progression. Prioritizing skill speed enhances the performance of skills like perfect strike and leap, further amplifying your damage output.
