For new players wanting to quickly reach tier 2 gear, upgrading rare level two equipment is highly recommended. You can max out traits rapidly this way. Later, you can transfer rare level two gear into epic level two equipment. This also applies when transferring tier one purple gear into tier two purple gear, which may be more efficient as epic gear can have four out of four traits, granting more blessings and easier upgrades. However, for simplicity, newer players should stick with tier 2 equipment.

Later, you can transfer rare level two equipment into epic level two equipment. However, if you want to keep things simple, especially as a new player, staying with tier 2 equipment is perfectly fine.

You can purchase tier 2 traits—the rare level two traits—in Landry. These traits tend to be quite affordable on most items. Be cautious to avoid scams, and consider standard rare traits as well, which are often even cheaper.
