By incorporating these tips, you can unlock new possibilities and improve your overall gaming experience.
Tips for Safe Loot Room Setup
Ready to blow your mind? Let’s start with tip number one.
Utilizing Industrial Adapters for Surveillance
Attach an industrial adapter to a box in your loot room to spy through the ceiling and monitor your surroundings safely. Hide your sleeping bag inside the ceiling by building a triangle foundation with a half wall and placing three ceilings above it. Then, build another triangle in front, but higher to complete the setup.

Creating a Hidden Storage Solution
Jump onto the foundation and adjust the placement height of your sleeping bag so it fits completely inside the ceiling. From outside, it will be invisible both from the top and bottom, making it impossible for others to break it.
Reversible Entry Points
After blowing a door, you can replace it immediately because a block will appear, blocking the passage. However, this mechanic doesn’t apply to windows—once exploded, no block will appear, so you can place a new window instantly.
Creating an Unusual Shooting Floor with a Small Box
To build an unusual shooting floor, raise a small box slightly above a window to create a gap at the bottom for shooting enemies. Place a locker inside the airlock without blocking passage by rotating walls and doorways so their hard sides face inward.
Optimizing Shooting Strategy with Elevated Structures
Elevated structures grant a tactical advantage by offering better shooting angles. Raising small boxes creates vantage points, improving your defense while maintaining movement. Proper wall and doorway orientation further strengthens your position and shooting strategy.
Setting Up Locker for Defense
Lean your back against the corner behind you and place the locker in front as close to the wall as possible. Then pick up the front door and place it facing outwards — and that’s it.
Enhancing Security with a Roof
Build a roof on top of the ramp to cover the passage inside your base. This roof makes it impossible for enemies to enter from above. Note that you cannot place boxes or sleeping bags on this roof from below.
Base Building Tips
If you climb to the top, you can place several large boxes and a sleeping bag there. This tactic helps save space inside your base while adding extra storage.
Improving Defense
Attach small signs to window bars to make it harder for enemies to shoot you from outside. This method is easier and cheaper than pixel gaps or complicated shooting floors. When upgrading your base quickly, keep the resource you want to upgrade to and store the rest. Hold left click while upgrading for faster results.
Upgrading Your Base Materials
To upgrade your base swiftly, select the desired material with left click held down, then right-click on all parts you want to upgrade. This lets you upgrade multiple pieces almost instantly.
Strategic Trap Placement
Hide a gun trap behind a twig wall and then hide that twig wall behind wallpaper inside your base — a cheap and surprising trap. Another method: place the gun trap where it’s invisible from above, but lethal once enemies jump down. Build a wall and put a roof in front of it to conceal it further.
Creating Deadly Traps in Rust
After removing half of the wall, attach the gun trap to the far wall so it sticks out. Then cover everything with ceilings and walls to form a deadly trap. If raided, you may lose your workbench if enemies access your TC. To prevent this, attach a voice recorder under the workbench and hide it behind a small box — this makes it impossible to pick up the workbench even if enemies have access to your TC.
Utilizing Terrain for Tactical Advantage
Place foundations over bushes near Oasis to keep them from disappearing. This allows you to set up a turret trap hidden in bushes, making it hard to spot from afar and highly effective.
Optimizing TC Placement for Base Building Efficiency
If your tool cupboard (TC) isn’t placed close enough to back walls and blocks building shelves, rotate it to reduce its footprint. This also helps reduce wall space when rotated, giving you more room to place boxes inside your base.
Utilizing Large Walls for Strategic Base Design
Place a large wall over a foundation, useful for building gatehouses. If you suspect enemies waiting near your door, attach wooden signs to the doorway — these signs block the passage and let you open the door safely.
Crafting Signs and Concealing Wires
If you lack wood to craft signs, use rocks or unwanted components instead. Hide wires inside your base by holding Shift and scrolling the mouse wheel down. This hides the wires under the foundation, making them completely invisible.
Wall Attachments and Item Placement
Attaching a large sign to a wooden or stone wall prevents ladders from being attached to that wall. You can place items such as furnaces, gun traps, or small boxes on top of stone walls to maximize space and defense.
Anti-Do Camper System for Player Bases
Every player needs an anti-do camper system in their base. This simple setup uses a single-button siren light and a footstep sensor, and the best part is it doesn’t require electricity.
Installation Steps
Place the footstep sensor in the corner of your airlock, as far away as possible from your door. Then, put a button and a siren light inside your base. When someone steps outside your door, pressing the button will trigger the siren, alerting you of door campers.
Setting Up Home Security System
Simply connect the button to the sensor and the sensor to the siren light. This easy wiring lets you go outside without worrying about campers waiting by your door.
Optimizing Space in Your Base
To maximize storage, place small boxes on top of vending machines. For tight loot rooms, fit an oil refinery inside a regular 2×1 base by removing one foundation and placing the refinery there. From outside, it will look like the foundation is still intact, keeping your base secure.
Stealing Loot from a Vending Machine Bunker
You can steal loot from a vending machine bunker without TC access or explosives by using a bicycle. Ride your bike between the vending machine and the wall to open it easily. To return your bike to the roof, use a scrap helicopter.
Using a Computer Station for Reconnaissance
Place a computer station next to a rock, open an allery camera, then exit it to see the inside of an enemy base. If you need to navigate a tunnel without a torch, use the building plan roof view to spot tunnel edges and run the right way.
Cargo Protection with Ladders
Make cargo protection easier by using ladders strategically. Climb out using a ladder at the bottom, close the door behind you, then attach your ladder to the top. Repeat this for all entrances. Your ladder will block access, forcing enemies to break it before entering.
Fishing in Safety
You can fish safely right in the bandit camp. Although you won’t catch sharks here, you can get scrap by trading fish at the fishing village. To avoid using a red card every time you visit the launch site, use a regular bike instead.
Guide to Accessing the Bike Through the Window
If you leave the bike in the right spot in the room on the right, you can easily get on it through the window from outside. Enter the launch site via the back entrance, where you’ll find a blue container on the right. Ride the bike into the adjacent room, pick up speed, and drive onto the ledge as high as possible so your front wheel touches the window — and that’s it.
Improving Stealth in Rust Game
Now you can quietly get on this bike from outside without attracting attention.
Enhancing Stealth Techniques
You can steal loot from a recycler through a window at the mining outpost. To make your boat completely silent, instead of holding down the W key, repeatedly stop it and go. This lets you drive at high speed with no noise. When sneaking on the beach, jump instead of pressing Control — jumping there is completely silent, letting you move fast and quietly.
Stealth Movement on the Beach
Jumping on the beach not only keeps you silent but also lets you maintain speed. Also, holding Shift while carrying loot changes the skin of every supply crate in your inventory to the last one you used.
Covert Communication with Drone
Use your drone to ping different objects, and your teammates will see these tags as well. This trick can be used to control a recycler remotely — essentially a legal wallhack. I even used it to annoy a clown who was blocking my way.
Strategic Interference Tactics
While raiding a huge clan alone is unrealistic, you can still disrupt them by reducing the server’s FPS, causing chaos and frustration.
Kayak Physics Trick
Place a cluster of kayaks together on the water. Due to the wave interactions, the game’s physics will glitch, causing both the game and the server to stutter. This simple trick can save you a significant amount of time by disrupting enemy movements or server performance.
Building Jump Technique
After climbing onto the roof of the launch site, head to the building at the back. Jump and bump against the wall as shown, and you can descend quickly without taking any fall damage. The same trick works on the sphere monument: find the beam on the side, gain full speed, jump down, and touch the tank from below to avoid damage.
Enhancing Base Security
Notice that you take no damage using these techniques.
Placing a can alarm inside your base with a wire running through the doorway allows you to hear footsteps whenever someone passes by. The wire remains practically invisible when the door is closed. To monitor the red room on the large oil rig, jump onto a barrel below. From this vantage point, you can see through the floor into almost the entire room and even the crate itself, providing valuable intel and a strategic edge over enemies.
Utilizing Binoculars
Binoculars are essential for scouting. You can monitor activity at the oil rig or other monuments from a distance, and even spot players underwater.
Benefits of Bicycles for Safety
Bicycles provide protection from fall damage at any height. For example, use a bicycle to enter caves without elevators. The key is to move slowly to avoid being thrown off the bike.
Tips for Safely Using a Bicycle
If you find a horse immediately after a wipe and want to keep it safe, place a shelf as high as possible and drive your horse inside. Usually, only the horse’s head will fit through, but that is enough to keep it secure.

Managing Horse in Enclosed Space
After you close the door, the horse will be stuck inside. As long as the door remains closed, the horse cannot be used, effectively keeping it secured within your base.
Efficient Crafting with 556 Ammo Blueprint
The 556 ammo is a tier 2 blueprint, but you can save 500 scrap by crafting the mixing table on the first workbench. This allows you to make 556 ammo without needing a second workbench. For added base security, place two workbenches next to the door on the tugboat to create an airlock. Additionally, placing rocks on windows prevents enemies from peeking inside your tugboat.
Unique Rust Game Tricks
If you run out of fuel, place two barrel rocks in a specific way, and you’ll be able to push the tugboat manually. Although movement will be slow, it’s better than being stuck.
Visual Hacks in the Game
By adjusting a single setting in the game’s options, you can see through the supermarket ceiling, giving you a tactical advantage.
Utilizing Object Quality Settings
At the small oil rig, there are walls you can see and shoot through by setting your object quality to zero. Also, setting Max Shadow Lights to zero improves visibility in dark areas.
Adjusting Visual Settings
Change the Max Gapes setting to zero. Higher values increase debris when breaking or building objects, which can be distracting.
Optimizing Gameplay
Enable grass displacement to make dropped weapons on the ground easier to spot.
Improving Audio Experience
During rain, game sounds can become muffled. To fix this, navigate to settings, then audio, and adjust the speaker configuration to restore clear audio.
Improving Building Efficiency in TC
You can easily reach the walls on the sides of the TC, but sometimes the ceiling or foundation in a triangle area remains out of reach. To fix this, press Alt and right-click, then enter Look at Raid 0.01 in the console. This will allow you to upgrade both the foundation and the ceiling effortlessly.
Customizing Building Zone Color
If the default red building zone color bothers you, change it easily. Press Escape, go to Options, then open the Accessibility tab and select a new color.
Changing Marker Colors for Improved Visibility
When farming trees at night, the red X can be hard to see. You can change the tree marker color from red to orange for better visibility. Similarly, try changing other marker colors to blue, pink, or yellow for improved clarity.
Enhancing Teammate Safety and Recycling
Throwing a stone axe at a teammate won’t harm them while you are shooting the axe, which is useful to avoid friendly fire. If you’re hesitant to use the recycler at the launch site, follow safety tips to make it risk-free.
Using Barricades for Strategic Advantage
Barricades are great for control. Place them on ledges where they will stick firmly, giving you a tactical edge.
Eliminating Annoying Sounds with Night Vision Goggles
The night vision goggles often have an annoying sound. To remove it, simply perform any emote while wearing them, and the sound will disappear immediately.
Strategic Placement of Barricades and Molotovs
You can place barricades from inside a car without stepping out. On the small oil rig, from a specific spot, you can throw a molotov as a distraction that will burn through the ceiling, confusing enemies and creating openings.
Protecting Your Loot in the Game
Explosions and fire deal a lot of damage, making it difficult for enemies to react. Use a torch or fire arrow to spot other players through the smoke and keep your advantage.
Quick Tip for Hiding Loot
To hide loot quickly, place a small box inside a note. As long as the note remains intact, your loot stays safe. If you have a backpack, simply drop it on the ground and cover it with a foundation for extra concealment.
Improving Your Game with Console Commands
Certain console commands can greatly enhance your gameplay and give you a competitive edge. Below are some of the most useful ones.
Using Console Commands for Enhanced Viewing
This command lets you see everything around you after death. By typing “kill” in the console and pressing Escape, you can observe the battlefield in real-time without respawning.
Removing Helmet Overlay in the Game
One command removes the distracting black overlay around the edges of the heavy helmet. Another command removes overlays for all scopes, providing clearer vision during combat.
Creating Traps with Barricades
Barricades can stop a train, allowing you to create unexpected traps. Place barricades near red spots around the recycler to catch enemies off guard. At the mining outpost, hide behind the forklift for a perfect ambush spot.
Flanking Strategies in the Recycler Area
When you hear the recycler activate, grab a compound bow and peek left for an easy flank. At the satellite dish, jump on the brown box next to the recycler, drop into the gap, and look down—here you are completely hidden from outside view.
Tactical Approach at the Gas Station
At the gas station, go to the back of the store, climb the ladder, and position yourself in the corner for a tactical vantage point.
Tips for Stealth in the Game
To stay hidden while controlling key points, fall directly into a bush on top of the fence. From this spot, you can monitor the main entrance to the recycler while remaining nearly invisible to enemies. Another great location is the lighthouse, where you’ll need a compound bow again. Hide behind the box inside, and most players jumping in won’t see you, especially if you have nothing on your back.
Utilizing Environment for Stealth
Falling into the bush on the fence offers excellent cover to watch the recycler entrance without being detected. The lighthouse spot requires patience and a compound bow for defense. Remember to stay light to maximize invisibility when hiding behind the box.
Exploring the Monument from a Unique Spot
A unique vantage point at the harbor allows you to control the entire monument. Find the building on the left side with tires stacked nearby. Jump onto the tires and have a teammate stand near the wall so you can use them as a boost to reach the roof. From this elevated position, you gain an unobstructed view of the entire monument, including the recycler below.
Benefit of Accessing the Harbor View
This rooftop vantage point offers a strategic advantage, giving you full visibility of the monument layout. Coordinating with a teammate to access this spot lets you monitor enemy movement and key locations like the recycler, making it easier to plan your next move or ambush.
