Greetings, everyone, this is Librarian Husky! Console Valorant has been out for a couple of months now, and it’s getting to that point where we need to do a Console Valorant Agent Tier List. In advance, I know this is going to upset a lot of people, but there’s nothing I can really do about that because I’m going to be completely honest: not every Agent in this game is created equal, and your favorite character might just end up in C Tier.

Criteria for Ranking Agents

Now, before we actually get into ranking any of these agents, we need to go over some criteria so you know exactly how I am making my list. The skill ceiling and maximum potential will play a huge part in these character rankings. Additionally, the ease of use is also going to be a very big factor because, if I’m an average Valorant player and I’m picking up a character that’s going to be absolutely horrible, you’re probably going to want to avoid that character, right? But on the flip side of that, in a pro’s hands, that character might be absolutely insane, and we need to factor in those things.

Countering Difficulty and Map Versatility

The third criterion is the difficulty in countering that character—whether the character gets shut down very easily or not. And finally, is that character good on multiple maps, or are they just very situational? I also want to clarify that not a single character on this list made it into the F or D Tier because, honestly, nobody in this game is that bad where you absolutely should not be picking them. There’s almost always a way; where there’s a will, there’s a way.

C Tier Agents Overview

If you know what I mean. Anyway, kicking it off with the C Tier, we have four characters, the first one being Yoru. Yoru is an absolutely insane character in the right hands; however, those “right hands” you rarely ever see. I’ve played over 200 ranked games on Console Valorant, and I have seen one Yoru that really gave my team the work—just a single Yoru. The point is, you’re going to need to put in a lot of hours before you’re actually good enough to play Yoru without throwing in ranked games, and that’s really the main reason he’s in C Tier. He’s not bad; he’s just very hard to use.

Harbor: The Awkward Controller

Moving on to the second Agent in C Tier, we have Mr. “I suggest you move” himself—Harbor. Harbor being in C Tier is pretty self-explanatory. He’s another character that’s not really bad by any means, but he’s very awkward to use, and if you don’t really, really know what you’re doing on Harbor, he’s just not going to be as good of a pick as literally any of the other controllers in the game.

Chamber: The Weakest Sentinel

The next Agent we have in C Tier is going to be my boy Chamber. Chamber, in my opinion, is by far the worst Sentinel in this entire game because he’s kind of like this Sentinel-Duelist hybrid. He has a Sheriff where you can zoom in, and then he’s got an Operator, but you can just buy an Operator. I mean, yeah, it’s good for eco rounds, but his kit is just… well, lacking.

Chamber: A Sentinel-Duelist Hybrid

I say it’s like a weird in-between, and he’s just not really good at anything. I genuinely think the only reason people play that character at all is just because the revolver is kind of nice for pistol rounds, and you can zoom in with it. But otherwise, yeah, he’s C Tier. He’s not great.

Astra: The Steep Learning Curve

Moving on to the last Agent I have in C Tier, it’s going to be Astra. Like Harbor and Yoru, Astra just has a very steep learning curve. If you don’t really know what you’re doing on Astra, you probably shouldn’t be playing her. Also, like Harbor, you’re just better off picking a different controller that’s easier and more practical to use, one that doesn’t require any team play at all. I do want to say, though, that Astra can definitely be a very, very good pick in the right hands.

Brimstone: The First B Tier Agent

Coming in as the first Agent in B Tier, we have the man himself, Brimstone. Now, Brimstone is a very solid character. I don’t really have anything bad to say about him, but nothing too great either. I will say this: when it comes down to controllers, he’s not the best, but he does have a lot of uniqueness to his kit. He has the longest-lasting smokes in the game—three of them. They obviously don’t refresh, but the fact that he has three of them means you can do some pushes that you aren’t able to do with other controllers.

Brimstone: A Solid Controller

I mean, unless you obviously have two controllers, then you can do whatever you want, I guess. But, you know, if you have molly lineups, that does help out a lot. Brimstone is just a very solid character overall.

Deadlock: A Situational Sentinel

Moving on to the second Agent we have in B Tier, it’s going to be Deadlock. Deadlock is another Agent that is all-around very solid. She’s definitely not the best Sentinel in the game by any means, but she gets the job done. Especially on maps like Sunset or Ascent, where you have a really good spot to put your wall, she makes a much bigger impact. However, there are also some maps where she just doesn’t feel like she does anything at all, so that’s why I have her in B Tier. She can be A Tier in certain situations, but she just doesn’t excel on enough maps, in my personal opinion.

Fade: The Mixed-Bag Initiator

Coming in as the third Agent in B Tier, we have my main, Fade. Now, unfortunately, I can’t put Fade any higher, and I really, really want to because she is my main. But at the end of the day, I can admit she just is not very good overall. On certain maps, she is amazing, but on other maps, you get almost no value out of her kit. It’s just going to be a better idea to pick somebody like Skye or a different initiator. On maps with a lot of tight corners, though, Fade is always going to be an absolutely amazing pick.

Sage: A Versatile Sentinel

In B Tier, we have Sage. Sage is just a very solid character all around—not the best Sentinel in the game, but her wall can be used offensively or defensively, which is really good, especially if you know good wall spots. Some Sage players use the most predictable ones and then just get one-tapped immediately, but there are some very, very good walls that people just don’t really pay attention to. Also, having the ability to resurrect a teammate is very nice, as long as they don’t do it in the open and then get farmed immediately, which happens all too often.

Phoenix: The First A Tier Agent

Moving on to the first Agent we have in A Tier, it is going to be Phoenix. Now, Phoenix is not the best duelist in the game, don’t get me wrong, but the reason he’s this high on the list is that flashes are very, very good on Console. I would actually argue they are way better on Console Valorant than they are on PC because, on PC, a lot of people are running high sensitivity, so they can easily just turn away from the flash and then turn back, and they’re fine. But on Console, a lot of people, I would probably say the majority, are running very low sensitivity, so any character with flashes is just very, very tough to deal with.

Phoenix vs. Yoru: Flash Utility on Console

Yoru’s flashes are just way harder to use than someone like Phoenix, and Phoenix is very, very good on Console.

Skye: A Versatile Initiator

The second Agent we have in A Tier is Skye. Skye is another Agent who is just so good all around. She offers a very good heal for her team, has a bird that can flash, a dog that can be used for recon, and her ultimate also provides more recon. Skye is a very, very good initiator overall, and you could argue that she could belong in S Tier. She does have a little bit of a learning curve, but overall, Skye is a very solid pick.

Reyna: The Solo Climbing Powerhouse

The third Agent we have in A Tier is none other than Reyna. When it comes to Reyna, I’ll say this: she is by far the best solo climbing Agent in this game, with the exception of maybe Jett, who is just out of this world in my opinion. Reyna is a very good solo climb Agent, but not the best duelist in terms of team play. However, she does still have flashes and some utility to help the team, but she really shines as a menace of an Agent for solo fragging.

Raze: A Simple yet Effective Duelist

Moving on to the next Agent in A Tier, it is going to be another duelist—Raze. Raze is a very simple Agent in my opinion. She has very good movement with her double satchels, is a strong entry fragger, and also has a grenade that…

Raze: A Powerful Duelist with Explosive Utility

Raze is amazing for clearing corners and killing enemies that are bunched up. You’d be surprised at how many kills you can get just from throwing a Raze nade. People often see it and think, “That won’t do anything,” and then it kills them. Raze is just really, really good. Not to mention, she has that rocket launcher, and if you play enough Raze, you will eventually get that five-piece with the rocket launcher. It will be the most satisfying thing of all time.

KAY/O: The Utility Master

The next Agent we have in A Tier is KAY/O. KAY/O is up here for one very obvious reason: his flashbangs are extremely strong on Console, and he has two of them. He also has a suppressor that not only doubles down as an ability that takes away other people’s abilities, but it also scans how many enemy Agents are in the area, which is very helpful. I will admit, KAY/O’s ultimate is absolutely terrible. I don’t know why he goes into an armor lock like this is Halo Reach or something, but it’s not very good. However, we can look past that because the rest of his kit is just very, very good.

Jett: The Ultimate Entry Duelist

The next Agent we have in A Tier is Jett. Jett is just one of the best entry duelists in the entire game. She has smokes that she can dash into, and she has her updraft, allowing her to reach objects that other Agents simply can’t. Her ultimate is absolutely amazing as well.

Jett: A Top Pick for Eco Rounds

When it comes to eco rounds, there’s really not much to hate about Jett. She is just really, really good. You can debate who’s better between Raze and Jett, but at the end of the day, they are both very strong and have their situations where they shine.

Breach: The Ultimate Initiator

Moving on to the seventh Agent in A Tier, we have Breach. Breach is definitely an Agent who excels much more on certain maps than others, but the point still stands—he is incredibly strong. His stuns, flashes, and aftershocks are basically everything you would want in an initiator. If you have a coordinated team, playing against Breach is just so annoying because even if the Breach is bottom fragging, he’s still making an impact.

Killjoy: The Site Lockdown Specialist

The next character I have in A Tier is Killjoy. In my opinion, she is the second-best Sentinel in the game. Her setups are very good, and she can lock down an entire site pretty much by herself. Her ultimate is also very strong, basically guaranteeing a round win as long as you don’t mess it up horribly, which I do see some people do sometimes, but that is few and far between. If it’s a good Killjoy, they’re not going to mess up their ult.

Sova: The Best Recon Agent

The next Agent I have in A Tier is Sova. His scans make him by far the best recon Agent in the game, and his ultimate is also basically like a free round win. You just listen for when the enemy is defusing the spike, use the ult, and secure the round.

Sova: A Free Round Win with the Right Timing

As I said, Sova’s ultimate can be a free round win. Sova is just very good.

Omen: A Versatile Controller

Coming in as the 10th Agent in A Tier, we have Omen. Omen is another very solid controller. He obviously has his smokes and two teleports, plus Paranoia, which is absolutely insane, especially if you have a duelist who actually pushes in off of it and not one who baits out your teammates like you usually get in ranked. He also has his ultimate teleport, which allows him to go anywhere on the map. This ability is sometimes overlooked because it’s not the greatest, but it is very useful for getting your team out of a pinch, especially if you need to teleport across the map and quickly plant the spike.

Viper: The Rotational Controller

Moving on to the final Agent we have in A Tier, it is going to be Viper. Viper isn’t your traditional controller, but she is very good for being able to rotate around the map with her poison wall. Her ultimate is basically the closest thing you will ever get to a free round win on attack in this game. You just throw it down, and you are not losing. If you do lose, I promise you that it is your fault because it is genuinely hard to lose with that ult.

Clove: A Mini-Duelist with Incredible Utility

The reason I say Clove is like a mini-duelist is because her Decay nade is extremely effective for entry and getting quick picks. Her “pick-me-up” ability feels like God mode, and the speed boost it provides is incredible. Who even thought of that? She’s just so powerful.

Cypher: The Best Sentinel

Moving on to the second Agent we have in S Tier, it’s got to be Cypher. Cypher is easily the best Sentinel in the game and also one of the most straightforward and mindless Agents to play. All you have to do to get good with Cypher is look up the best Cypher lineup for any site on any map, and you’re set. That’s literally all you need to do to play Cypher effectively, and you’ll be dominating. He’s just that good.

Neon: The Unstoppable Speedster

The next Agent I have in S Tier is going to be Neon. She is just so incredibly good. Even on PC, she might be S Tier, but on Console, she definitely is because of the crazy reticle friction at close range. When Neon slides past you, it’s nearly impossible to hit her. I swear, you can’t hit her. You can be one of the most brainless players with Neon, and you’re still going to get kills.

Gekko: The Underrated Initiator

Coming in as the second to last Agent in S Tier, we have Gekko. Gekko is just so good as an initiator. His ability to plant and defuse the spike remotely with Wingman is incredibly underrated. Additionally, he has an insane flash that cannot be dodged; it has to be shot down and can be combined with other abilities like Reyna’s Leer. Gekko is so powerful, especially since he can recycle his ultimate. If you don’t have Gekko in S Tier, I don’t know what to tell you.

Iso: The Controversial Powerhouse

Finally, coming in as the last character, it’s going to be Iso. I hate this dude with a burning passion because I just don’t think any character should be able to eat a headshot for breakfast. Being a Raze player, I’ve hit this dude with a rocket launcher, and he’s survived way too many times. Iso is an S Tier character, but he really frustrates me.
