What is up, guys? It’s Librarian Husky here back with another World of Warcraft update for the Wartin. We have some massive nerfs to gold farming. It’s only been two days since the launch, and this nerf happened yesterdayβkind of late yesterday. After a day of farming, farming has already been nerfed.
Iβm not talking about what theyβve done in the past, where they usually look at what gold farmers are doing and specifically nerf those farms. If youβve been farming in previous expansions, they usually make the hyperspawn stop working, so suddenly, mobs no longer spawn.
This time, however, they simply nerfed the drop rates of certain items. They went into the actual loot table of the mobs and made them less likely to drop certain items. This is kind of weird because cloth still drops the same, which is to be expected, but Darkmoon cards also still drop the same.
Darkmoon Cards Drop Rate and Market Impact
With the recent changes in World of Warcraft, significant adjustments have been made to gold farming. Only two days after the launch, a nerf was implemented, impacting the drop rates of certain items. This time, instead of reducing hyperspawns as done in previous expansions, the developers directly altered the loot tables, making specific items less likely to drop. Interestingly, the drop rates for cloth and Darkmoon cards have remained the same.
Despite the frequent drops, Darkmoon cards have seen a sharp decline in value. Currently, a Darkmoon card trinket can be obtained for less than 1,000 gold, with even the most valuable ones costing between 1,000 and 2,000 gold for a complete deck. This overabundance has saturated the market, causing a significant drop in the prices of Darkmoon cards and related items, such as crystals, which have also become cheaper due to the large supply of epics.

Green Items and Gold Farming
Before the nerf, green items were dropping in abundance. These items could be disenchanted for materials or sold directly on the auction house to players who then disenchanted them. This led to a significant supply of green items, which were converted into storm dust, creating a steady market for these materials.
The Nerf and Its Impact on the Market
The nerf drastically reduced the supply of green items, which in turn led to a sharp decrease in the availability of storm dust. Consequently, the price of storm dust increased significantly. As soon as the nerf was implemented, some players took advantage by buying out all the available storm dust and flipping the market. Interestingly, the price has not dropped back down, as the supply of greens remains low compared to before.
Examples of Green and Blue Item Sales
Here are some examples of green and blue item sales from the auction house. Recently, a green item sold for 1,500 gold while I was offline. Additionally, several other greens were listed between 2.5K and 7K gold. While not all of them sell, those that do fetch a much higher price compared to disenchanting them for dust.
Unders Count Items
The Unders Count items, particularly the 564 item level BoE blues, were dropping frequently at the start. Some of these items were listed for 12,000, 9,000, and 7.5K gold, depending on the server. Prices can vary significantly between servers, and on higher-priced servers with fewer suppliers, these items can sell for more, although sales may occur less frequently.
Pricing and Server Variability
I have posted them for 12,000, 9,000, 7.5, and the prices here will vary from server to server. Some servers out there are vastly different, and some servers have much higher prices. I believe I’m on one of the higher-priced servers in the BoE market because there aren’t many suppliers here. So, I’m playing on a slightly lower-population server. When I get sales, they sell for more, but I get fewer sales overall.
Examples of Item Sales
Once again, I’ve sold a couple of BoEs for a good price, and I’m trying to find some here. For example, Unders Scout bracers sold for 400 gold, and a Roth sword for 400 gold. For the 400 gold ones, you can actually disenchant them and get more gold. Here, we have the Deep Dwellers cudgel, a green item, sold for 1.4k. Another one also sold for 1.4k. Weβve been able to sell a couple of BoEs, not a lot, but quite a few for that price.
High-Value Items and Sales
We also have the Expeditionary Boots of the Quickblade for 5,000 gold. Another green item, Deep Dwellers cudgel, sold for 5.7k. It was a Captain of the Quickblade, so good stats there. An Unders Scout jerkin of the Harmonious sold for 14,000 gold yesterday. One of the blues that I got sold for 14,000 gold, and a Roth sword of the Peerless sold for 14,000 or 13,000 gold. Some of them do sell for a lot of gold.
Further Examples of High-Value Sales
The Deep Dwellers set was sold for 6,000, 5,000, 6,000, and 3.8k. Another Unders Scout bracer was sold for 4.6k, and another Deep Dwellers item for 6.6k. A bunch of BoEs are selling for thousands of gold in this case.

Impact of the Nerf and Market Changes
I haven’t really seen this nerf being talked about much, and it has had a huge impact. However, looking at the bright side, the prices for BoE items, greens, and blues have gone back up. We still have the same cloth drop chance, and sadly, the same Dark Moon card drop chance. The abundance of Dark Moon cards is evident in my current inventory, despite not farming that much.
