Firebombing Gold skeletons is the most effective and quickest way to eliminate many of them. Additionally, using firebombs can speed up the process of killing skeleton captains. The extra DPS provided by firebombs will help you dispatch them extremely fast.

Using Kegs on Your Ship

While Kegs can provide a significant advantage, bringing them on your ship is always risky, no matter where you store them. Never place Kegs in your Crow’s nest. If they explode there, your mast will fall, leaving you vulnerable to attacks.

Recommended Keg Storage

If you must bring Kegs on board, store them at the end of your bow. This location allows for excellent mobility, even on a galleon, if you use the Harpoons to turn.

Handling Persistent Hunters

If a ship continues to hunt you even after sinking you once, you can change servers while keeping your current voyages alive by Scuttling and switching seas.

Selling Emissary Flags

Emissary flags can be sold to the Reaper NPC at the outpost. However, many commendations require you to sell them at the Reaper’s Hideout.

Canceling Sword Dash Cooldown

During sword fights on a ship, if you miss your Sword dash, grab onto a cannon, sail control, or anything else to cancel the cooldown animation.

Flying the Reaper Mark Flag

The Reaper Mark flag reveals your location to all other crews on the server. It is necessary to fly this flag for some commendations.

Flying the Flag

I don’t recommend new players fly this flag. If you’re attacked and anticipate sinking but have valuable items to save, bury them on an island. You’ll receive a map of their location, but do this after your ship has sunk so the map appears on the new ship, preventing enemies from stealing your maps and loot.

Stealth Tactics

Turning off all the lanterns on your ship can make you more difficult to spot on the horizon, especially at night. I found that using rare, harder-to-earn cosmetics will sometimes cause fewer players to fight you because you’ll look more experienced. However, this only works if the other player also has knowledge of your Rare cosmetics and what it takes to get them.

Emissary Ships

You can see how many other Emissary ships there are of each kind on your server by counting the wooden boats on the Emissary tables where you vote for your own flag. It never hurts to look around your ship and make sure there are no Tuckers sneaking around.

Burying Reaper Chests

If you want to collect a Reaper chest but avoid having a marker on you, you can pick it up and bury it at the nearest island for later retrieval. This removes the marker from the map and allows more Reaper chests to spawn.

Finding Discounted Cosmetics

You can discover random Discounted cosmetics at any seapost. For those looking to be stealthy on ships, avoid wearing glowing cosmetics, as they make you more visible. Going barefoot is another tip, as the sound is quieter than walking with boots, a peg leg, or the skeleton curse.

Flying the Flag

I don’t recommend new players fly this flag. If you are attacked and think you might sink but have valuable items to save, bury them on an island. You’ll get a map of their location, but make sure to do this after your ship has sunk so the map spawns on the new ship, preventing enemies from stealing your maps and loot.

Stealth Tactics

Turning off all the lanterns on your ship can make you harder to spot on the horizon, especially at night. Using rare, harder-to-earn cosmetics can sometimes deter other players from attacking you, as you appear more experienced. However, this only works if the other player recognizes the rarity of your cosmetics.

Emissary Ships

To see how many Emissary ships are on your server, count the wooden boats on the Emissary tables where you vote for your flag. It’s always a good idea to check your ship for Tuckers sneaking around.

Burying Reaper Chests

If you want to gather a Reaper chest but avoid being marked, pick it up and bury it at the nearest island for later. This removes the marker and allows more chests to spawn.

Finding Discounted Cosmetics

You can find various Discounted cosmetics at seaposts. For stealth operations on ships, avoid glowing cosmetics to remain less visible. Going barefoot also helps, as the sound is much quieter compared to wearing boots, a peg leg, or the skeleton curse.

Shrouded Ghost

Even if you aren’t eager to engage the Meg that has just appeared, always verify if it’s the Shrouded Ghost. If it is, seize the opportunity to defeat it. This creature is extremely rare, and you may not encounter it again for a very long time.

Sound Cues

Memorizing Sound cues is crucial to staying aware of your surroundings. Recognize the sounds of someone boarding your ship, swimming nearby, various monsters, and ancient skellies spawning to stay alert and prepared.

Stealth Tactics

When approaching a ship stealthily, refrain from firing your cannons immediately to avoid revealing your position. Many pirates won’t be on the lookout for company, so use this to your advantage. Additionally, avoid typing if you’re close to others, as it can inadvertently expose your presence.

Field of View

If you haven’t already, increase your FOV to 90. This adjustment will allow you to see much more of your surroundings, making gameplay easier and more immersive.

Pet Interactions

Your pets will join in and dance when you play music, as well as emote alongside you.

Stealth Tactics

For those aiming to remain undetected, it’s best to keep your pet hidden. Pet names are visible to nearby players, and pets moving around can reveal your position.

Boarding Ships

When boarding enemy ships, start eating food to distance yourself from opponents guarding the ladder. This tactic ensures you are at full health when combat begins.

Setting Traps

Burying Kegs strategically can create effective traps for unsuspecting players. When they dig them up, the fuse will automatically ignite, giving you an advantage.

Naval Combat Tips

During naval battles, always check for Kegs in the enemy’s Crow’s nest. Despite the danger, players frequently store them there. Landing a sniper shot on these Kegs can give you a significant tactical advantage.

Selling Fish and Gems

While it’s common knowledge that you can sell fish and cooked meats at seaposts for Hunter’s Call reputation, many don’t realize you can also sell Mermaid gems and Tridents there to boost your reputation.

Fishing for Rep

Regarding Hunter’s Call, you can efficiently work on fishing commendations and Hunter’s Call reputation by fishing in the extended part of the Athena’s Fortune area. This requires you to be a Pirate Legend and level 100 in Guardians of Fortune, or have someone else open it for you. The reason this method is effective is that there is an NPC in this area to whom you can sell fish.

Using Vomit in Combat

You can extinguish fires by throwing up on them. Similarly, you can vomit on campfires to put them out. Additionally, storing vomit in a bucket allows you to use it later to blind pirates in combat.

Fastest Way to Sell Loot at Reaper’s Hideout

The quickest method to sell loot at Reaper’s Hideout involves using a harpoon rowboat. Once all of your loot is on the rowboat, use the harpoon to drag yourself onto the island and into the tent. Then, use a blunderbomb to create a path to unload your loot.

Staying Hidden

If you are hiding at a contested location and want to remain unnoticed, avoid using the spyglass or a sniper to look around. The sunlight will reflect off these items, and the glint will instantly reveal your position.

Finding Loot

If you sink a player or skeleton ship and can’t locate the loot, look for birds. They will indicate the exact location of the loot.

Preventing Loot Theft

Any loot in any location can be stolen from you up until the point where you sell it, so always keep an eye out for sneaky pirates trying to pull off a heist.

Ship Hole Tiers

There are three tiers of holes that can occur in the hull of your ship. Each tier will let in more water at a faster rate and will also take a lot longer to repair.

Avoiding Easy Targets

Anchoring and leaving your sails down will always make you look like an easy target to any players who are watching you from a distance.
