Hey guys, welcome back! It’s Librarian Husky, and today I’m going to go over 10 huge mistakes to avoid making in Humane. We’re going to do this in rapid-fire succession, so hang on. The first one is: don’t forget to look for the secret rooms in silos.
There are silos located all over the game, and in these silos, there’s a key that drops off one of the enemies. Once you get the key, run up the path, climb the ladder, and find the door that requires the key on the opposite side of the room. Use the key, run down the hallway, and once there, stand in the circle as the counter climbs up. Execute all the enemies that spawn until a boss appears, then collect your reward. Every silo has a secret room that can be a good source of rare deviations, so keep an eye out. You can rerun it as many times as you want to get the rewards inside.
Don’t Ignore Deviated Resources
Next tip: don’t ignore deviated resources that you’ll find when you’re running around. You can spot them by seeing the glowing red resource nodes. You’ll see plants glowing red, and when you harvest those, you have a chance of getting a deviation. These deviations can be really helpful because they will run around and collect resources for you when placed in your base. For example, if you find a deviated ore node, you can grab the deviation, and it will gather ore for you in your base. If I go up to this one, it’s collected all the ore for me.

Finding Deviated Nodes and Buff Management
That’s where I found him β in a deviated node. Next tip: don’t forget to overdrink and overeat before you leave your house. When you max out your thirst, a screen pops up, saying your thirst won’t drain for 20 minutes. You essentially get 20 minutes of buffs, including move speed increase and reduced stamina drain. The same applies to food β maxing out your food gives you buffs for 20 minutes. Before leaving, make sure you’re fully stuffed for maximum efficiency, as it’s better than just eating a little when needed.
Avoid Wasting Star Crumb on Gambling
Next big tip: don’t waste all your Star Crumb gambling at the wish machine. You can gamble and press play, but each time you hit one of the moles that pop up, it costs Star Crumb. It’s a whack-a-mole game, but expensive. You might get fragments, but if you don’t want to aim for 20 fragments randomly, be cautious. For example, Iβve got four out of 20 so far, but gotcha machines can be unpredictable.
Avoiding Gacha and Choosing Blueprints
Gacha machines can be frustrating, and often, “The House Always Wins.” However, thanks to community feedback, the developers added a new option in the last patch: the blueprint shop. Now, you can shop for the blueprint you want and buy it outright, instead of playing the gacha game. This is a game-changer, allowing you to pick and choose the items you want, avoiding the frustration of getting useless items and never acquiring the one you need.
Best Ways to Get Starcom
So, what are the best ways to get Starcom? First, there are the Primores. These are marked by symbols on the map, and you can start a Prime War by visiting one. Completing it will reward you with Starcom. Another method is to run to one of the silos on the map. After completing the silo challenge, you’ll get some Starcom. However, thereβs another easy-to-overlook method: pressing escape on your keyboard, then clicking on seasonal rewards. You’ll see new rewards available there.
Seasonal Rewards: A Hidden Source of Starcom
Itβs really easy to miss the seasonal rewards, as you might forget to check them. When you go to the seasonal goals section, youβll notice that completing tasks allows you to claim huge rewardsβ400, 600, or even 1,000 Starcom. Each subsequent tab offers even more, with 1,500, 2,000, and so on. These goals are incredibly simple, like cooking five dishes or owning one armor calibrated to +2. They are easy tasks, but you might overlook them if you donβt realize thereβs a reward for doing these random specific actions.
Maximizing the Free Battle Pass
Similarly, in the same menu, if you go to the battle pass section, youβll find a wealth of free rewards. Inside the battle pass, youβll get things like Stardust and Starcomβboth essential. This is all available on the free track, while the paid track only contains cosmetics. So far, the gameβs monetization has been incredibly fair, which is great to see. You can earn Starcom for free by working through the battle pass, gaining level XP as you play the game.
Progressing Through the Battle Pass
You’re also gaining battle pass XP. So, how do you progress through it? Just earn experience by completing quests, killing enemies, and other activities. The last thing to mention about collecting Starcom before moving on is your journey menu. By pressing “J,” youβll open the journey menu, where there are various tasks. These tasks are essential, and even if you don’t need the items immediately, you will eventually. Completing these tasks is not a waste of time, as they also reward you with Starcom and controllers, both of which are necessary.
Fastest Way to Earn XP
Speaking of earning XP, the fastest way is by completing weekly commissions. In every town, youβll find an NPC with a clipboard over their head. Talk to them, and you’ll see your weekly commissions. Each week, you can complete five, and all provide the same reward. The trick is to choose the easiest ones, like making 20 dishes or smelting 70 ingots. Even tasks like driving 5,000 miles will happen naturally. Taking five pictures is one of the easiestβjust open your camera and snap away.
Easy Way to Complete Picture Tasks
To complete the “take five pictures” task, just snap five pictures, and youβre done. You donβt even need to save them. Take a picture, press Escape, and repeat. Itβs that simple. If youβve selected a task and later regret it because itβs too difficult, you can unselect it and choose a different one. This flexibility is available every week. Additionally, if you’re starting the season late, you can complete all previous weeks’ commissions right away, without waiting. Itβs a great catch-up mechanic for those who are behind.
Donβt Overlook the Jelly Deviant
Next tip: donβt sleep on the jelly deviant. If you’re in battle, this is an excellent resource, as it heals you over time. It can bring you to full health and keep you there. Just cast it on the ground, and as long as you stay near it, youβll continue healing. This can be a lifesaver in tough fights, so make sure to use it when needed.
Healing Tool in Battle
The jelly deviant is an incredible tool for healing during battle. It lasts for a while and has a short cooldown before it can be used again. Essentially, this provides a free heal whenever you need it, reducing your reliance on activators to restore health. Itβs an efficient way to stay alive without consuming too many resources, making it an invaluable part of your strategy.
Taking Advantage of Set Bonuses
Another common mistake is not utilizing set bonuses from gear. Many legendary and non-legendary items come with set bonuses. For example, wearing a hat that grants an 8% move speed bonus just for having one piece is extremely useful. Boots with increased reload speed are another great example. Donβt just focus on the top stats like attack or defenseβthose set bonuses can make a huge difference, often being more beneficial than higher stat numbers.
Donβt Overlook Side Quests
Next, avoid dismissing side quests. While they might seem insignificant at first glance, they often offer rewards that can be extremely helpful. Ignoring them can mean missing out on valuable experience, items, or bonuses that make progressing through the game easier.

Completing Side Quests
When you complete certain side quests, they might only give 500 XP, which doesnβt feel like much. However, the real reward lies in the Stellar Plena and the Eclipse Cortex. The Eclipse Cortex can be converted into Stardust, which is essential for your character. Youβre going to need plenty of these resources, so it’s beneficial to complete these quests as you explore. In the long run, these resources will be vital to your progress.
Understanding Quest Rewards
If youβre ever unsure about the rewards a quest offers, hold the control key. This allows you to hover your mouse over the items or symbols to see what they represent, even before you begin the quest. You can also check the anchors to see if you’re receiving Stellar Plena, Stardust, or Burum Crystal, all of which are crucial for your progression.
Managing Anchors and Resources
While moving through different zones, the quests will often ask for a specific number of anchors. Make sure you track and collect these efficiently.
Maximizing Resources in Each Zone
I highly encourage you to grab every single resource while youβre in the zone. Eventually, youβll find that Burum Crystal is the material youβll run out of first, so itβs beneficial to collect as much as possible early on. Later in the game, youβll also need Vadium Crystal, and youβll want a good stockpile of that too.
Upgrading Mods Efficiently
A common mistake to avoid is neglecting your mods. As you progress, you’ll gather many mods, and an easy way to improve them is by disassembling the ones that donβt fit your playstyle. Take these to your disassembly bench, where you’ll receive mod materials like weapon or armor mod parts, which you can use to enhance and level up the mods you do like.
Running Silos for Mod Parts
You can easily get mods and their parts by running silos. Completing these silo runs gives you tons of armor mod parts, and once you know the route, they take only a short time to complete. This makes it a fast and efficient way to gather mod materials for upgrades.
