Hello there and welcome back! It’s Librarian Husky. Today we’re going to talk about Early Access and, more specifically, what is available or potentially available for Early Access in “The War Within.” This is the first expansion to have an Early Access period of three days.

Global Release Timing

This Early Access will be available across the EU, NA, and other regions, which is exciting. Similar to other expansion launches, the full release of the expansion is on August 26 at the same time globally. You get about three days of Early Access if this is something you want to explore.

Limitations During Early Access

Early Access is limited and subject to possible outages and time zone differences. Certain endgame features, including Mythic Dungeons and Weekly Quests, will not be available during this period.

New Hero Talent System

The new hero talent system will be accessible during Early Access and unlocks at level 71. You will be able to customize and utilize this system extensively leading into the expansion’s full launch.

Leveling Expectations

You will likely reach level 80 quite naturally by the time the expansion launches on August 26th. This allows you to fully engage with the new content and prepare for the challenges ahead.

Quests Availability

All quests, including campaign and side quests, will likely be available. “The War Within” offers numerous side quests with engaging stories. The campaign spans 12 chapters across four zones, making it shorter than previous campaigns.

Endgame Quest Line

An endgame quest line exists, but it’s unclear if it will be available during Early Access. If it is, you can complete steps to unlock the Allied race during this period. However, the availability of the last chapter of the campaign, potentially a post-raid chapter, remains uncertain.

Weekly Quests

Weekly Quests will not be available during Early Access. Historically, these quests and activities become accessible only after the first reset of “The War Within,” which occurs on Tuesday, the 27th in the NA region, and Wednesday, the 28th in other regions. This pattern was also followed in previous expansions.

World Quests and Dungeons

World Quests will likely go live after the first reset of “The War Within.” In terms of Dungeons, Blizzard has released information about those available during Early Access. All normal Dungeons will be accessible during this period. These include Arakara City of Echo, The Priory of Sacred Flame, The Rookery, The Stone Vault, The Cinder Brewery, The City of Threads, The Dark Flame Cliffs, and The Dawn Breaker.

Dungeon Details

Some of these Dungeons are for Leveling, while others are designed for max-level players. They will only be available in normal and follower dungeon forms during Early Access. Once the expansion launches on August 26th, heroic difficulty for these Dungeons will be unlocked. When Season 1 begins, seasonal heroic Dungeons will also be available, but normal Dungeons will remain unchanged.

PVE Rewards and Dragonflight Season 4

Blizzard has announced that all PVE rewards currently available within Dragonflight Season 4 will no longer be accessible after August 26th. This means these rewards can be earned during Early Access, but it is unlikely that players will be able to participate in Dragonflight Season 4 Dungeons at level 80.

Renown and Reputation

You will be able to start farming renown and reputation with warbands and “The War Within.” This reputation is account-bound, meaning if you complete something on your main or an alt for the first time, it will be credited to your account.

Account-Wide Reputations

You won’t earn multiple amounts of reputation by repeating the campaign; you gain it the first time you complete it. Account-wide reputations, which may have been experienced during the pre-patch with Dragonflight content, will continue through “The War Within” and beyond.

Renown Progression

You likely won’t reach max renown during Early Access due to caps on activities that grant renown. It’s estimated that you can achieve around four to seven renown levels if you really push yourself. Generally, you’ll gain renown naturally from side quests and the campaign.

Professions in Early Access

Not much has been detailed about professions during Early Access, but gathering will likely be available. This will allow you to start collecting materials to sell on the auction house. However, professional Weekly Quests will probably commence after the first reset, similar to the Dragonflight expansion.

Profession Knowledge

Profession knowledge remains somewhat uncertain, but it is likely you’ll be able to obtain it, albeit with a cap. Other players will catch up quickly, preventing any significant early advantage. Items such as Sparks and other key crafting materials will be introduced in Season 1, so crafting top-tier gear during Early Access won’t be possible.

Rares and Item Levels

Rares will likely be present during Early Access. With the start of Season 1 of “The War Within,” the item level of their drops will increase. Currently, rares appear to be active and dropping loot, though the exact item levels remain unknown. More information will become available as Early Access progresses.

World Events

The War Within” features several world events, including the Theatre Troupe event, Spreading the Light event, and the Radiant Echoes event. These engaging activities will likely launch after the first reset and won’t be available during Early Access. Some events are unlocked through renown and offer rewarding gear both in and out of season.

Details on World Events

The Theatre Troupe event, Spreading the Light event, and Radiant Echoes event will have comprehensive guides available before launch. However, these events, along with the Great Vault, will not be accessible during Early Access due to their gear rewards and renown requirements.

New Feature: Delves

Delves will be available during Early Access, with Tier 1 to Tier 3 difficulty levels. Tiers four and beyond will unlock with Season 1 in September. Bountiful Delves, which provide the best loot, will likely not open until after the reset.

Keys for Bountiful Delves

Bountiful Delves require keys, which can be obtained during Early Access. However, many of these keys come from weekly activities that won’t be available until after the reset. You might be able to acquire one or two keys before then.

Advantages and Keys for Delves

There won’t be a significant advantage in obtaining keys for delves. They will likely become more abundant as the game progresses. Bountiful Delves will probably open after the reset, but you can participate in Leveling delves and Tier 1 to 3 delves to gain basic gear and achievements during Early Access.

Mounts in Kazalar

Kazalar features various mounts that you can obtain by farming, killing, or collecting different items. Many of these mounts will likely be available during Early Access. If you reach level 80 and have extra time, you can farm these mounts, some of which require extensive efforts, like defeating 1,500 enemies.

Availability and Grinds

The mounts with heavy grinds in Kazalar will be accessible once Early Access launches. If you have the time and determination, you can start working towards these goals early, taking advantage of the available content.

Final Notes on Early Access

This summarizes what is currently known and unknown about Early Access. Blizzard will likely release a detailed post outlining what features will be available. While this information is generally accurate, it’s important to stay updated with official announcements for the most reliable details.

Speculations and Confirmations

There has been a lot of speculation based on historical trends. Dungeons and Weekly Quests have been confirmed by Blizzard, but other features are likely unavailable. If you have additional information about Early Access, sharing it would be helpful. Blizzard has been somewhat vague about certain details, which has led to some confusion.

Controversial Paywall

Locking Early Access behind a paywall is a controversial decision. It raises questions and uncertainties about whether Blizzard will continue this practice in future expansions.
