Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Librarian Husky. We have some very big changes and updates, including live features in the game right now. These include updates to the Dark Moon Fair and how you can use it to enhance the endgame experience. There are also changes to other racials, a preview of upcoming content over the next few weeks, and major class changes on the PTR. Plus, Wild’s 20th anniversary is approaching, and much more.
Weekly Challenges and Loot Opportunities
Starting off light, everyone knows you need to complete your weekly tasks for the caches, not just for Relic offer keys, but also for a chance at good loot. I don’t mind a bit of a challenge; when we first tackled The Awakening—the 20 rounds of mobs—it wasn’t the easiest, but we got it done. However, many players struggled with this feature, forcing Blizzard to nerf it less than two weeks after its release. Dangerous mobs had their damage reduced by 20%, and med packs now last two minutes on the ground, making it easier to recover during tricky situations.
Comparisons to Past Challenges
I remember during Shadowlands, running Torghast on my rogue was quite difficult at times. Challenges like these are part of what keeps the game engaging, but balance adjustments are always welcome when something proves too overwhelming for the player base.
Concentration Mechanics in The War Within
Moving on to a more profession-based feature, it’s confirmed that concentration takes a total of 100 hours to fully recover in The War Within. It regenerates at about 10 concentration per hour, making it one of the most valuable in-game resources. Since you can’t buy it, concentration is entirely time-gated, which increases its value.
Leveraging Concentration for Profit
Due to its scarcity, concentration can be used to generate premium profits. I’ve been using it across several characters on cooldown to produce tier-three or tier-five products for a significant profit. If your character is anywhere near the concentration cap, you’re missing out on tens of thousands of gold by not using it efficiently.
The Return of the Dark Moon Fair
This week, we were delighted with the return of the Dark Moon Fair, marking the first event of the expansion. With it came some pleasant surprises, including profession quests that increase your skill and grant knowledge points. You also receive a 10% experience and reputation buff, which is particularly valuable early in the expansion.
Maximizing Profession Gains
When the Dark Moon Fair is in town, you can complete profession-based quests that award three knowledge points and two skill points for each profession you have. These quests take only a minute or two to complete, making them an efficient way to boost your professions across multiple characters and alts.
Boosting XP and Reputation
Additionally, you can take advantage of the Dark Moon top hat for 10 tickets, or simply ride the carousel, both of which grant a 10% boost to XP and reputation. These buffs are fantastic for leveling alternate characters or increasing reputation quickly for Renown farming, so be sure to make the most of them before the reset.

The New Earthen Race and Its Challenges
We had the chance to experience the brand-new Earthen race, but unfortunately, they are currently plagued with several bugs and issues. Right now, their racials are underperforming, particularly the well-fed secondary stats bonus, which offers less than the basic food available in The War Within. This results in an actual DPS loss, which is quite frustrating. Blizzard has announced that buffs are coming soon to address these issues.
Upcoming Buffs and New Transmog Options
In addition to the planned buffs for the Earthen race, there are also new transmog options for Earthen, Dark Iron, and Dwarves in general. However, these unlocks are only available to players who complete the introductory Earthen questline. After finishing the Allied race questline, you can log into your new Earthen character, complete the Awakening storyline, and unlock the transmog options.
Exclusive Transmog Restrictions
It’s important to note that these transmog options are exclusive to Earthen, Dark Iron, and Dwarf characters. While I personally would have preferred these options to be available for other characters as well, it seems Blizzard has chosen to keep them exclusive for now.
Exclusive Dwarf Cosmetics and Armor Sets
I particularly like the heavy armor military variants as well as the civilian cosmetics, such as the Cogwheel backpack, which is a great touch for engineers. However, keep in mind that these are exclusive to dwarves, so that’s something to consider.
World of Warcraft War Within: Season 1 Features
Now, let’s dive into the main part of today’s news. Blizzard has officially released details for World of Warcraft War Within Season 1 features for the next two weeks. One of the most exciting updates is the release of the Durar Palace raid on September 10th. We’re also getting Mythic Zero difficulty for dungeons, offering better loot opportunities.
PvP and Seasonal Delve Updates
Additionally, delves are being upgraded to tier four, and we’re getting a brand-new seasonal delve. For PvP players, the PvP Arena and Battleground season is starting, and for the first time this expansion, rated battleground solo queues will be available. This is a highly anticipated addition, making the PvP season even more exciting.
Mythic Plus Dungeon Rotation
If you didn’t already know, the Mythic Plus dungeon rotation for this season will include dungeons from the current expansion, The War Within, as well as from previous expansions. The War Within dungeons include Arakara, the City of Echo, the City of Threads, the Stone Vault (a personal favorite), and the Dawnbringer, which has some of the most challenging boss battles.
Previous Expansion Dungeons
In addition to the new dungeons, there are a few from older expansions. From Shadowlands, we have the Mist of Tyrna Scythe and Necrotic Wake. From Battle for Azeroth, there’s the Siege of Boralus, and from Cataclysm, the Grim Batol. This first seasonal rotation offers a lot of exciting content that many players will enjoy, especially the return of Necrotic Wake.
Mythic Plus Dungeon Rewards
As for rewards from Mythic Plus dungeons, you can earn the Tempered title by reaching a Mythic Plus rating of 2000. Additionally, the Diamond Mech Suit is unlocked at the same rating. Finally, there’s the Luminous Nerubian Catalyst Stone, which requires a Mythic Plus rating of 2500. This item allows you to infuse your armor with visual effects tied to specific class sets.
Uncertainty Around the Catalyst Stone
The Catalyst Stone remains somewhat unclear, as it only mentions unlocking additional visual effects through a faint echo of power from the depths of Neobar. What exactly this entails for class set appearances is still to be fully understood, but it’s certainly an intriguing reward. Let me know what you all think about this new addition!
Speculation on New Tier Sets and PVP Rewards
I couldn’t find much information about the new tier sets online, but it might just be a different version of the current sets. We’ll have to wait and see how it develops. When it comes to PVP, there’s a wide range of rankings and rewards that players can achieve, including the Forge Gladiator’s Tabard, the Forge Gladiator’s prestigious cloak, and three different pennants based on the type of PVP content in which you excel.
Uncertainty Around PVP Pennants
I’m not exactly sure what these pennants will look like. They could be flags above your character or small pins, but either way, they will serve as cosmetics to show off your achievements during the PVP season. I think it’s a nice addition for players to flex their successes, which adds a cool dynamic to the PVP experience.
Elite PVP Gear and Cosmetics
As for elite PVP gear, there are specific rankings required to obtain each piece. For instance, the weapon illusion cosmetics unlock at 1950 rank, the prestigious cloak at 2100, and the Forge Gladiator’s Tabard at 2400. I’m particularly excited to try and get the tabard on my rogue, as it’s one of the most coveted rewards this season.
Exciting Rewards for Solo Players and Delves
In Dragonfly Season 1, before I quit that expansion, I aimed for some of the coveted rewards, and I’m hoping to do the same this time—wish me luck! For solo players, there’s also plenty to look forward to. Delves offer some awesome rewards, including the Ze’s Raptorial Spine cloak cosmetic, the Ascension Breaker title, and a schematic for customizing your Void Mount, which looks incredible.
New World Option in the Great Vault
A brand-new feature coming this season is the replacement of the PVP row in the Great Vault with a world option. Completing one, four, or nine delves or world activities will unlock world slots in the Great Vault. The item level from world gear will scale based on the difficulty of the content completed, reaching up to heroic raid gear or Mythic 15 dungeon gear, making this an essential activity for players.
Inclusive Content for All Playstyles
I’m particularly excited about the diversity of content in The War Within. Whether you’re a solo player, a PVP enthusiast, a dedicated raider, or a Mythic Plus fan, there’s something exclusive for everyone. With rewards, cosmetics, and features tailored to different playstyles, this expansion truly feels like it caters to all types of players.
Impressive Expansion and Developer Efforts
I absolutely love what they’ve done with this expansion so far. I haven’t been this excited to play WoW in a long time, and I literally have to force myself to log off every day. I’m blown away by the developers’ efforts, so hats off to them for an incredible job. The content they’ve delivered has really exceeded expectations.
Season 1 Features to Anticipate
On September 17th, the Mythic raid tier will officially open, along with the story mode option for the raid. This is going to be really exciting to experience. Additionally, the Mythic Plus season begins, and the Great Vault will also be active, offering plenty of opportunities to push dungeons hard and optimize your rewards.
Preparing for Season 1
A useful tip for preparing for the upcoming season is to start farming wax in the open world. This wax can be turned into Valor Stones, helping you bypass the cap on your character. By doing this, you’ll be better equipped and ready to go when Season 1 launches, ensuring that you’re maximizing your progress and rewards.
Using Valor Stones and Wax for Gear Upgrades
An interesting strategy for maximizing gear upgrades involves using your Valor Stones throughout the week and, when running low, turning in stockpiled Globs of Wax to instantly replenish your supply. Some players have hundreds, if not thousands, of wax ready to exchange, which is pretty insane. If you’re looking to get ahead, consider farming wax before next week to stock up.
Upcoming Weekly Cache Updates in Patch 11.0.3
Looking toward the future, the weekly cache system will receive an upgrade in Patch 11.0.3. Currently, the first two weekly caches reward Adventure-level gear, but in Patch 11.0.5, this will be changed to Veteran-level gear. This is a great way to gear up alternate characters quickly, preparing them for raiding, Mythic Plus, or solo content.
Major Class Changes in Patch 11.0.1
Now, onto the main topic—Patch 11.0.1 is bringing massive class changes across the board. These changes will impact multiple classes, and understanding them will be crucial as you prepare for the upcoming season. Keep an eye on the patch notes to see how your class might be affected.
Massive Class Changes in Patch 11.0.1
When I say “massive,” I truly mean it. The list of changes is so extensive that we could dedicate hours to discussing them in depth. If you’re interested in exploring the changes specific to your class, I encourage you to take a look.
Major Updates for Death Knight and Demon Hunter
Death Knights are seeing drastic changes to the Deathbringer hero talent tree, including three brand-new talents and a wide variety of modifications to the overall tree. For Demon Hunters, the biggest change is for Vengeance, where your healing through metamorphosis has been reworked. Now, instead of modifying your health directly, metamorphosis will heal you for 40% of your max HP upon activation.
Balance Druid’s Extensive Overhaul
Balance Druids are facing even more substantial changes, with six brand-new talents and numerous adjustments across the talent tree. These nuclear changes will greatly impact gameplay, and Balance Druid players will need to dive deep into the details. Let me know your thoughts on these changes and how you think they will affect your playstyle.
Balance Druid and Hunter Class Updates
I’m eager to hear your thoughts on the changes, especially since Balance Druid has been one of the worst-designed classes heading into The War Within. Hopefully, the new talents will make a difference. For Hunters, the Dark Ranger hero talent tree is receiving a complete rework. Killshot is being replaced by Black Arrow, and many talents in the tree are being redesigned. I’m curious to see how these changes play out and what the community thinks about them.
Hunter Specializations Overhaul
In addition to the Dark Ranger updates, Beast Mastery Hunters are receiving a variety of changes, along with significant updates to Marksmanship and Survival. It seems that Blizzard wasn’t satisfied with the design of Hunters overall, which aligns with the feedback from the community. A closer look at all Hunter specializations is definitely a big win for players.
Mage and Monk Adjustments
Of course, Blizzard’s favorite child, the Mage, is also receiving updates. Arcane is getting class changes, buffs, and new talents, while Fire Mage received only slight adjustments. Mistweaver Monk is the highlight here, with four new talents and a passive ability being added to the tree, along with damage increases across the board. These changes make for a very interesting update.
Big Changes for Mistweaver Monk and Paladin
If you’re a Mistweaver Monk, you have plenty to be happy about with the new updates. Let me know your thoughts! As
for Paladins, their class-specific talent tree is undergoing a complete rework. This includes the relocation of numerous talents and the addition of new talents being embedded into the tree. It’s a major shake-up, especially considering Paladin is currently the most played class in the game. These changes will likely spark diverse opinions among players.
Lightsmith Hero Talent and Paladin Specializations
In addition to the overall talent rework, the Lightsmith hero talent tree is receiving a few new nodes. There are also minor class changes coming to Holy, Protection, and Retribution Paladins. This broad range of changes is sure to make a big impact on the way Paladins play, adding more depth and flexibility to the class.
Rogue Key Updates and Talent Changes
Rogues are seeing some significant updates as well. Cut to the Chase will now grant Slice and Dice instantly, meaning you won’t need to have Slice and Dice up beforehand to benefit from this passive. Soothing Darkness is also being buffed, along with key changes to the Fatebound hero talent tree. These updates will have a notable impact on both Outlaw and Subtlety specs, altering gameplay strategies.

Drastic Changes for Subtlety and Outlaw Rogues
If you play Subtlety or Outlaw, expect significant changes to your gameplay. The updates will drastically impact both specs, altering strategies and performance. These changes aren’t just minor tweaks—they will reshape how you approach these classes in the game.
Elemental and Enhancement Shaman Updates
Elemental Shamans are seeing massive updates again, with four new talents embedded into the talent tree, along with numerous buffs, nerfs, and talent position changes. Enhancement Shamans are also getting three new talents, plus buffs and nerfs across the board. These are drastic changes for both Shaman DPS specs, so if you main Shaman, you’ll want to pay attention to these updates.
Totemic Hero Talent Rework for Enhancement
A significant change for Enhancement Shaman is the rework of the Totemic hero talent tree. Previously, this tree was underperforming, but the updates should improve its viability, making it a better option for Enhancement players.
Warlock and Warrior Minor Updates
For Warlocks, there are some updates to the Diabolic Ritual and Touch of Ranor, while Warriors are seeing very few changes overall. Although the Warrior class remains mostly untouched, there are still plenty of updates for other classes that warrant a closer look. If you’re interested in the full, in-depth breakdown, make sure to check out the details!
World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Event Overview
I’m sure you’ve all heard the massive news about the upcoming World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary event. I won’t go into too much detail, as many of you have already seen the announcements, but I wanted to provide a quick summary of what’s coming. The 11.0.2 anniversary patch is bringing some incredible content to celebrate both World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of Warcraft in general.
Blackrock Depths Raid and World Events
One of the major highlights is Blackrock Depths, which will return as a 10- to 15-player raid with three difficulty options: LFR, Normal, and Heroic. New world events will also take players back to iconic moments like the opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj, where you’ll battle enemies from the Scourge, the Legion, and the Qiraji invasion in Silithus.
Classic Timewalking and New Mini Events
Classic dungeons such as Zul’Farrak, Dire Maul, and Stratholme will be available through Timewalking, and the Timewalking vendor will offer new items for purchase. There’s also a new mini-event, the Trial of Style, along with Mount Mania, where players can showcase their mount collections. Additionally, old World Bosses like the Sha of Anger and the Archivist of the Stone Watcher will return for the anniversary.
Exciting New Additions to the 20th Anniversary Event
I think a lot of players will be blown away by everything coming. Honestly, if they had only added the Blackrock Depths raid, I’d still be freaking out, but combining all of this content together is just a home run. It’s like the ultimate “chef’s kiss” for WoW fans. But wait, there’s more—because we’re not done yet!
Dracthyr Gaining New Class Options
The Dracthyr will now have access to more classes, including Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warrior, and Warlock. This is a huge addition, expanding the flexibility of the Dracthyr race. And the best part? You don’t have to remain in Dragon form while performing your class abilities—you can stay in your human-like form, which is incredible.
Shaman Ascendant Form Rework
For Shamans, Blizzard has finally listened and reworked the Ascendant form, and it’s coming with the 20th anniversary. The new forms look absolutely insane, with three different variants. While it’s unclear how to obtain or switch between them, this is a massive upgrade compared to the outdated previous versions of Ascendance.
Updated Tier 2 Class Sets
Also coming with the 20th anniversary are updated Tier 2 class sets, available for every class in the game. These are HD redesigns of the original sets, and they look phenomenal. Players will have their work cut out for them trying to obtain all these rewards, but it’s definitely going to be worth it. The fresh redesigns are a huge win for fans of the classic sets!
