Hello, everyone! My name is Librarian Husky, and recently, we’ve seen numerous updates, including patch 11.05 bringing in a wealth of new content, class changes, and the 20th anniversary event loaded with unique items to collect. However, your collection is about to expand even more if you’re aiming to acquire the limited-time items available during the Hallow’s End event, which has just gone live on the EU and NA realms.
Hallow’s End Event Refresh and New Rewards
With the new update, the Hallow’s End event has received a refresh, introducing a brand-new transmog collectible available from the Hallow’s End dungeon, specifically the Headless Horseman encounter. Additionally, all other Headless Horseman rewards are now farmable thanks to the latest changes in this update, allowing players to access these items more easily.
New and Returning Cosmetics from Hallow’s End Vendors
The vendors this year offer an assortment of new cosmetics for the holiday, alongside costumes and collectibles from past Hallow’s End events. This blend of new and classic items gives players an excellent chance to complete their holiday collection with items from both recent and previous updates.
Guide to Collecting All Hallow’s End Collectibles
Today, we’ll go over how to acquire every collectible available during Hallow’s End within The War Within expansion. This guide includes methods for obtaining both new items and farming older rewards, ensuring you can gather all these exclusive items before the event concludes. Missing out means waiting until next year for another chance, so start collecting now!

Experience Buffs and Benefits for Leveling
During the 10th or 20th anniversary update, players now have access to a 10% experience buff, along with the Blessing of the Bronze Dragonflight, granting an additional 10% experience gain. For each max-level character you have in The War Within expansion, there’s also an additional experience bonus of up to 25%. This is further enhanced by the event’s Grim Visage buff, which allows you to paint your face with Wicker Man ashes for an extra 10% experience and reputation gain.
How to Apply the Grim Visage Buff
To activate the Grim Visage buff, head to the bonfire outside of Undercity for the Horde or Stormwind for the Alliance. At the bonfire, throw the ashes from the big Wicker Man onto your character. This will grant you the experience and reputation boost, making it the perfect time to level up new characters during this event.
New Cosmetics and Collectibles
This year’s Hallow’s End event introduces new cosmetic items, including the Patch Harvest Golem outfit. Similar to the recent Hallow’s End outfit available in the Trading Post, this set is unlocked during the holiday by queuing for the Headless Horseman dungeon. Additionally, other exclusive cosmetics are available through vendors, with more items added every year.
Loot and Rewards from the Headless Horseman Dungeon
When queuing for the dungeon and defeating the Headless Horseman boss, each character has the opportunity to loot a Loot-Filled Pumpkin once daily. This pumpkin contains various transmog pieces and other rewards exclusive to the Hallow’s End event. The first character you use each day has an increased chance of obtaining higher-quality loot from the boss, including rare rewards.
Exclusive Event Rewards
This year’s Hallow’s End event offers new transmog pieces along with previous rewards, such as the rare Headless Horseman mount, which I was fortunate enough to acquire recently. Additionally, other exclusive items include pets like Arus and a pumpkin pet, transmog helms, swords, and other collectibles unique to this seasonal event.
Activating Hard Mode for Additional Challenges and Rewards
To enable a harder version of the dungeon, speak with the Wicker Man at the dungeon’s entrance. This activates Hard Mode, adding new affixes and increasing the difficulty of boss abilities. The mechanics in Hard Mode reduce your maximum health by 10% each time you’re hit by a boss ability, adding more challenge. Successfully completing Hard Mode, however, improves your chances of securing higher-quality loot.
Optimizing Farming in Hard Mode for Hallow’s End Rewards
Enabling Hard Mode is highly recommended for those aiming to efficiently farm all available rewards in the Hallow’s End dungeon. If you’re trying to obtain the newly added transmog items or past Hallow’s End rewards, spamming the dungeon on as many characters as possible increases your chances. Your first character of the day also has a slightly better chance to obtain rarer items, and activating Hard Mode affixes further boosts your loot potential.
Level Requirements and Farming Efficiency
This year’s update has made farming easier, allowing any character at level 10 or higher to receive the epic version of the Loot-Filled Pumpkin. Previously restricted to level 60 and above, this change means you can now gather an army of level 10 characters to farm the Hallow’s End event quickly and efficiently.
Using Allied Races for Faster Dungeon Access
Allied races, specifically those with shorter intro zones, like the Nightborne, can exit their starting areas quickly and head to Orgrimmar or Stormwind, where they can immediately start queuing for the dungeon. This setup is ideal if you’re planning to create multiple level 10 characters to maximize your farming efficiency.
Efficient Queueing as Tank or Healer
To streamline entry into the dungeon, consider queuing as a tank or healer, as they typically have faster queue times. Choose a class you’re comfortable with so you can quickly jump in, defeat the boss, and claim your loot and rewards. At the start of the instance, be sure to enable all affixes. While they make the fight slightly more challenging, they also boost your chances of obtaining collectibles, making them worth the effort.
Warband Collection Benefits
One of the great features of the Warband collection is that transmog items like helms, swords, and armor collectibles obtained in this dungeon are added to your Warband collection rather than your individual character’s collection. This means, for example, if you acquire a helm on your warlock, you can also use that helm’s appearance on other characters like warriors, death knights, and paladins, adding flexibility to your transmog options.
Collecting Tricky Treats for Exclusive Event Items
During the event, players can earn Tricky Treats, which are available in limited quantities per character. These can be used to unlock unique event items, including new additions like a back piece and fist weapons that match the Patch Harvest Golem set, each costing 100 Tricky Treats. There’s also a new item, the Prowler’s Faded Shoulder Cape, which offers a tattered look that adds to your collection of unique event cosmetics.
Ensemble of the Prowler’s Faded Helm
The Prowler’s Faded Helm ensemble comes in two versions: the hooded option without a mask and the Prowler’s Faded Mask version, both offering unique looks. The shoulders are available for 50 Tricky Treats, while the helm costs 150 Tricky Treats, and purchasing the helm gives you access to both styles. Previous Hallow’s End events also offer other cosmetics, including offhand items, helms, and toys that allow you to dress up as various villains from WoW lore.
Other Collectibles and Farming Tricky Treats
To obtain all these items, you’ll need to collect enough Tricky Treats, which can be gathered through multiple methods. Some approaches are more efficient than others. You can complete daily activities available at the main Hallow’s End grounds for both Horde and Alliance—located in Undercity and outside Stormwind, respectively. These activities include a once-per-holiday quest that provides several crates and a range of daily quests, awarding around 180 treats throughout the event.
Additional Tricky Treats from Dungeon Runs
Alongside the holiday quests, you can earn additional Tricky Treats by completing dungeons. Each character can earn between four to six Tricky Treats per dungeon run, making this a viable method to maximize your treat collection across multiple characters for the event.

Daily Quest Rewards for Tricky Treats
There is also a daily quest in Shadowmoon Valley that awards four to six Tricky Treats each day. While completing daily quests can help you gather treats, it requires a consistent effort over several days to accumulate enough for all the event items. Using multiple characters will help you gather the necessary currency for each new reward, and possibly for unclaimed rewards from past events.
Trick-or-Treating Around Azeroth
The most efficient method to farm Tricky Treats is by visiting every inn across Azeroth for treats, gathering around 300 treats per character by completing this run. This task is simplified with flight, making it quicker to visit inns. Although it requires time and effort, this method provides substantial rewards, especially when focusing on specific regions at a time.
Efficient Collection on Port-Friendly Characters
Characters like mages are particularly efficient for this farm, as they can quickly teleport between expansion zones, allowing for faster inn-hopping. Focusing on clearing one zone at a time, you can steadily collect treats, which adds up quickly across multiple characters. This approach makes gathering event currency manageable and boosts your chances of acquiring all desired items.
Efficient Trick-or-Treating in the Dragon Isles
I’m currently focusing on visiting all inns within the Dragon Isles, as there are many inns scattered across each zone, making it highly rewarding. After completing the Dragon Isles, I plan to tackle Outland, Northrend, and Pandaria one at a time. This approach is simpler than managing larger continents like Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms all at once, allowing for a more manageable collection process.
Managing Trick-or-Treats as a Consumable Currency
Trick-or-Treats, despite functioning as currency during this holiday, are unique in that they are consumables bound to each individual character rather than a Warband-wide currency. To collect all holiday items, including new and legacy rewards, you may need to assign several characters to the grind, as items cannot be shared across characters. Be prepared to repeat vendor trick-or-treating on multiple characters if you wish to buy everything available.
