Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Librarian Husky Okay, so what do you do at the endgame of the War Within in World of Warcraft? At this point, the game can be very expansive, and there’s definitely a feeling of “what’s next?” that many people experience once they hit the max level, especially if you’re returning to the game. Today, we’ll lay out exactly what your next steps are after reaching the level cap in the quickest and most efficient way possible, as well as a few other things that are worth checking out because they could be really important.

Starting Your Journey at Level Cap

Your first goal, whether you have reached level 80 or not, is to strap in and grind through the War Within campaign story. After you complete the story, you unlock the World Quest and Weekly Events system. The World Quest system is by far the simplest and easiest way to acquire a variety of rewards in the War Within endgame. A major tip is to grab the add-on World Quest Tracker as soon as you unlock the World Quest system so you can see all of the World Quests much easier on your map and target farm as needed.

Efficient Farming and Rewards

With these World Quests, you can be rewarded with very effective item level gear to kickstart your character since you’re quite weak at a fresh level 80. You can acquire gold, additional reputation for completing quests, Renown, Resonance Crystals, Key Shards, and much more. This is the very first thing you should be focusing on.

Maximizing Weekly World Quest Rewards

When you hit level 80, one of your key objectives is to tackle your weekly World Quest reward, which you can obtain from your Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache by completing a variety of quests. You can find this quest by looking for the one with a lock symbol, and it will reward you with an epic chest. This weekly cache guarantees you a very high item level item that you could potentially upgrade up to level 593, which is significant in the first week of launch. For example, on my Enhancement Shaman, I got lucky and received a weapon, which I fully upgraded to 593, greatly enhancing my character’s power.

Zone-Specific Weekly Quests

Additionally, there are Zone-specific weekly quests from which you can obtain a rare weekly cache. As of now, these quests weren’t available during Early Access, so I don’t have footage of them, but they should be available with the War Within launch. This is the first thing I plan to do before the weekly reset tomorrow, so be sure to add it to your to-do list.

Capital City Weekly Quests

Lastly, in your World Quest and weekly to-do list, you have the weekly quest you can obtain in the capital, Dagal, from Beeroth.

Heroic Dungeons and World Tour

We now have access to our Heroic Dungeons World Tour, which provides you with 567 item level gear. This gear has the potential to be upgraded all the way up to item level 580. This is some of the strongest gear you can obtain in the first week of launch, so it’s crucial to participate in these Heroic Dungeons before their daily reset. Doing each of these rotational Heroic Dungeons once per day is known as a World Tour, where you visit every zone to complete all possible dungeons. Be sure to complete your World Tour daily to earn a significant amount of Valor Stones while also obtaining 567 item level gear to boost your character’s power.

Renowned Factions and Powerful Rewards

In the War Within, there are four separate Renowned factions for which you can earn reputation and gain incredibly powerful rewards. While some of these rewards are cosmetic and not mandatory, others are locked behind Renown and include very powerful items such as an epic level helmet, shoulders, chest piece, and even a rare trinket that you can customize to your stat priority. These items are crucial for increasing your player power early on.

Farming Renown Efficiently

The most straightforward method is to complete all of the side quests in each zone to obtain a substantial amount of Renown as you finish certain quest lines. For example, I have completed this process for Hollow Fall and Ash Cahat, both of which are now past Renown level S, providing me with the rewards I needed. I plan to do the same for the other two zones to be well-positioned for completing everything. Additionally, specific quest lines in these zones can reward you with rare 571 item level gear, making it a great two-for-one deal for Renown reputation and powerful quest rewards.

Targeting Rare Mobs for Reputation

Option two is also straightforward: target rare mobs daily in a zone. These rares drop a 150% increase to reputation when killed in the targeted Renown zone. A major benefit of this is that you can go across the zones, killing rares not only for Renown reputation but also for their mount drops, exclusive cosmetics, or powerful gear that’s very useful for a fresh level 80 character.

Tracking Rare Mobs

The easiest way to track these rares is by using two add-ons: Handy Notes and the newly released War Within Handy Notes add-on. These tools make it incredibly easy to open your map, fly around your desired zone, and hunt down these rares to earn a wide variety of rewards. This is one of my favorite activities to do.

Efficient Rare Farming and Treasure Hunting

If you don’t enjoy questing and are looking for an easier way to gain Renown, targeted rare farming is definitely an option for you. I can get lost for hours doing this, as it’s highly effective. In the description below, you’ll find a link to all of the treasures and rares in every single zone. This resource will help you identify crucial items you can target farm for your character.

The Benefits of Gathering and Looting

Another crucial aspect that many players overlook is simply gathering and looting while completing your dailies. This can be incredibly beneficial as you fly around the world and encounter small treasures, herbs, or mining nodes. These purple treasures can yield a variety of crucial endgame currencies such as Resonance Crystals, which can be used to purchase Renown items, rare crafting materials, cosmetics, exclusive rewards, and even Valor Stones for upgrading gear inside the capital.

Incorporating Daily Activities

One of my favorite activities in the War Within is to log in daily, complete my rotational rare farming in a chosen zone to earn significant Renown reputation, and then, while traveling between routes, gather these valuable resources. This method not only enhances your character’s power but also maximizes your daily efficiency.

Maximizing Solo Activities: Gathering and Looting

I’m constantly looting herbs or mining to gain gold while also picking up treasures to acquire currency that increases my player power. Essentially, I’m achieving multiple objectives at once, making it very worthwhile, even if it’s just for a couple of hours. If you’re a solo player not in the mood for challenging content, this can be highly beneficial.

Exploring Delves for Solo Content

One of the major features in the War Within expansion is the Delves. Think of Delves as bite-sized dungeon content for solo players or small groups of up to four players. They provide a variety of rewards upon completion. Currently, Delves haven’t fully shown their potential because we won’t access the complete delve levels for a couple of weeks. However, Delves can be highly rewarding, especially when they become Bounty Full at random on your map.

Unlocking Epic Rewards with Restored Coffer Keys

When you have the opportunity to enter a Bounty Full Delve, you can use a Restored Coffer Key to unlock an epic chest at the end of the delve. This chest can provide you with significant loot. You can earn Restored Coffer Keys from various sources, such as collecting and combining 100 Key Shards obtained from World Quests, Radiant Echoes, outdoor events, and other activities. Additionally, reaching certain Renown thresholds can also contribute to obtaining these keys.

Obtaining and Using Restored Coffer Keys

Restored Coffer Keys can be obtained from various sources, including Bountiful Delves quests from the capital, which we anticipate opening up soon. There are many options for acquiring these keys, but it’s crucial to hold onto them and avoid using them until we gain access to the full range of delve levels. Using keys prematurely on lower-level delves can result in less valuable loot. For instance, I mistakenly used my keys on a level three delve, which was a significant error.

Timing Your Key Usage for Optimal Rewards

To maximize your rewards, only use your Restored Coffer Keys when you are higher in the delve system to ensure you receive high-level loot. Learning from my experience, where I ended up with less valuable rewards due to using keys early, will help you avoid similar mistakes. Holding off on using your keys until you can access higher-level content will guarantee better rewards.

World Soul Memories Event and Radiant Echoes

One benefit from my mistake was obtaining Radiant Echoes, which allowed me to participate in the new World Soul Memories event. This open-world event can be activated using Radiant Echoes, and once started, you have a set amount of time to kill mobs and complete objectives. Your performance is scored, and rewards are based on your score. For example, I earned around 50 Valor Stones and some Coffer Key Shards, making it a very enjoyable and rewarding event.

Enjoying the World Soul Memories Event

I love the timed aspect of the World Soul Memories event, where you can compete to improve your score each time. It’s enjoyable to see how well you can do, and you can save Radiant Echoes to convert them into larger quantities of shards, increasing the challenge and adding a gambling-like element to the event. It’s like a personal Mythic system, striving for the highest score and best rewards while facing a tough challenge. This solo content is incredibly appealing, and if you’re a solo player, there’s a lot to enjoy right now.

Exploring Professions in the Endgame

In World of Warcraft‘s endgame, diving into professions is essential. Professions have become a significant aspect of recent expansions, with Blizzard adding talent trees to further specialize and enhance your profession. For example, you can be an enchanter specializing in disenchanting for more materials, a blacksmith focused on crafting specific weapons like axes, or an alchemist who specializes in creating flasks. Professions offer a fantastic way to personalize and optimize your gameplay experience.

Enhancing Your Character Through Professions

Spending time on your character’s professions not only helps you make gold but also deepens your involvement in enhancing endgame content. Professions offer a significant way to engage with the game, allowing you to further optimize your character and craft valuable items.

Preparing for Player versus Player Content

From a content perspective, player versus player (PvP) is a major aspect to consider. While ranked PvP, including solo queue, rated battlegrounds (RBGs), and arenas, won’t unlock until September 10th, you can start farming honor to obtain a full set of rare PvP gear beforehand. PvP gear scales significantly in a PvP environment, boosting your item level into the 600s when facing other players. If PvP content interests you, grinding out this gear is essential.

Finding a Guild for the Best Experience

Lastly, one of the most overlooked aspects is finding a guild or a group of friends to play with. Playing an MMORPG without a guild or group can severely limit your experience. Being part of a guild enhances your gameplay and ensures that you are not tackling the content solo, making your journey through the game much more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Recap and Key Tasks

To quickly recap, make sure you always check in to complete your world quests and weekly quests. This will help you earn epic and rare caches, guaranteeing strong loot. Additionally, focus on completing your weekly quests in the capital to gain a substantial amount of Renown reputation. Lastly, farm out your Renown as much as possible to enhance your gameplay experience.

Maximizing Rewards and Progression

To obtain powerful rewards, cosmetics, and more, focus on farming Renown reputation and rewards. You can target rare mobs in the open world, which will also allow you to gather materials, earn gold, and open purple caches for valuable currency to enhance your character. Additionally, farming delves provides gear and currency for upgrading your character’s power. However, save your Relic Coffer Keys until higher delve levels open up beyond level three to secure high-level rewards. Radiant Echoes earned from delves grant access to the World Soul Memories event, offering significant currency and new endgame features. Lastly, delve into professions to increase your gold earnings.
