Greetings, fellow adventurers! I’m Librarian Husky, here to guide you through the intricacies of Throne and Liberty. Whether you’re gearing up for intense PVP battles or perfecting your PVE strategies, this comprehensive guide has you covered. Let’s dive deep into weapon choices, class dynamics, and the latest updates that are shaping the game’s meta. Prepare yourself for victory!

PVP Weapon Choices

People are asking me the same questions: “What is the best weapon for PVP?” and “What is the best weapon for PVE?” First of all, you didn’t tell me if you want to play PVP solo or in a group with other players. Are you planning to engage in GvG (Guild versus Guild) content, or maybe massive Zerg content like Sieges? Or, are you going solo in PVP during nighttime in open-world dungeons? The answer depends on these factors.

PVE Class Choices

Another question often asked is: “What is the best class in PVE?” But wait, what do you mean by “best class”? Are you going to be a tank, healer, or DPS? If you’re saying DPS, what kind of DPS are you going to be—melee or ranged? The answers vary significantly based on these choices. This is a purely situational discussion.

Changes After the New Update

It’s purely situational. Before this new update, what was happening on the servers in Korea? Before this update, sword and shield were extremely powerful in different combinations with other weapons. Sword and shield with dagger, great sword, or even crossbow were especially strong as secondary weapon choices. Now, what changed after this new update on the Korean servers? What happened to the tier lists of all classes?

Impact on Tier Lists

Creating a tier list now would be challenging because everything depends on whether we’re discussing PVP or PVE. I would basically need to put everything in the S tier—just put everything in S tier, and we’re fine. Why? Because with the latest updates on the Korean servers, not only have we received many skill changes, including the skill specialization system, but most weapons have also received a huge buff in damage.

Sword and Shield Builds

Before this new update, everyone was complaining about the sword and shield Paladin build, the sword and shield wand build, and many other combinations involving sword and shield. They were considered too powerful. So, what did the developers do? Surprisingly, they didn’t nerf the sword and shield builds.

Increased Weapon Damage After the Update

The developers didn’t nerf sword and shield, sword and shield wand, or any of the popular builds. Instead, they took a different approach by increasing overall damage for many different weapon combinations. This change has led to some interesting shifts in gameplay dynamics.

Dagger as a Main Weapon

Previously, the dagger was mainly used as a secondary weapon. However, after the update, you can now play dagger as your main weapon. For instance, I used to play with a great sword and dagger combination, but now I find myself playing with a dagger as the main weapon and the great sword as secondary. While it may seem similar, the difference in gameplay is significant, making the dagger even more viable.

Staff and Other Weapon Combinations

The staff has received a substantial buff, and you can feel the difference in gameplay. Currently, in the game, there are still many viable combinations. Crossbow and dagger remain powerful for both PVP and PVE. However, the staff combined with the dagger, or even the longbow combined with various other weapons, is now very enjoyable to play.

Impact on Tier Lists

What’s happening in the game after this update is that many different weapon combinations have become incredibly strong. For example, I’ve recently seen players using great sword and crossbow combinations, delivering insane damage and excellent survivability. As a result, the tier list in the game has become more balanced, with many viable options available.

Current State of Weapon Combinations in Korea

To recap what’s happening on the Korean servers, there’s no point in creating a tier list because almost every combination of weapons and classes is viable. Everything depends on what you want to achieve. You cannot simply ask what the best class for PVP or PVE is because it’s purely situational.

PVP and PVE Situational Choices

For PVP, you need to decide if you want to play in group content or solo content. Do you want to be at the front lines with a sword and shield or stay back as a ranged DPS? Similarly, in PVE, you need to decide whether you want to be a tank, DPS, or healer. Your choice will greatly influence your experience.

New In-Game Systems and Their Impact

With the new update, we are getting several new in-game systems, including gemstones, an artifact system, and Tria Stones. These additions will significantly change the balance of the classes and impact the overall gameplay. When these changes are fully implemented, I’ll create new content to cover everything you need to know about the different meta builds.

Current PVE Class and Weapon Combinations

For PVE, several weapon combinations are proving to be effective. The sword and shield with wand, dagger, or great sword are strong choices. Additionally, healers are finally becoming more viable in the game, with the wand and longbow combination standing out. The longbow has received a buff to its healing abilities, making it an ideal match with the wand for a true healing class.

DPS Class Options in PVE

Regarding PVE < span style=”color: #94bd7b;”>DPS, the choice between ranged or melee depends on your playstyle. If you prefer melee DPS, the great sword and dagger combination is a strong option, offering a balanced approach to dealing damage in PVE scenarios.

Viable Weapon Combinations

The crossbow and dagger combination remains a powerful choice for ranged DPS, offering a balance of strength and utility. The staff is now incredibly powerful as well, whether paired with a dagger or longbow. The great sword and crossbow combination also stands out for its effectiveness, providing a mix of burst and sustained damage that can be useful in various scenarios.

Sustained vs. Burst Damage in PVE

In terms of sustained damage, the longbow and dagger combination excels, offering continuous damage without the pauses typical of burst damage setups like the great sword and dagger. While the great sword and dagger combination delivers strong bursts of damage with intervals of calm, the longbow and dagger provide a steady, relentless assault, making it ideal for PVE content.

PVP Strategies: Solo, Group, and Mass

For PVP, different strategies apply depending on whether you’re playing solo, in a group, or in large-scale Zerg battles. In group or mass PVP (GvG or Siege), the longbow and dagger combo is versatile, allowing for multi-functional play. Sword and shield paired with a dagger is also effective for front-line roles in massive battles, providing the needed durability and damage.

Single Target PVP

For single-target PVP, the crossbow and dagger combination offers excellent damage potential, provided you have high-quality gear. Additionally, the staff paired with a dagger or longbow remains a viable option, allowing for flexible gameplay styles across different PVP scenarios.
