Discord Text Formatting – Headers

Make sure to leave an empty space between the “#” sign and your message. To style Headers in your Discord message, use the hash sign (#).

• Add one (#) for a H1 header.
• Use two (##) for an H2 one.
• Use three (###) for a H3 header.

Put the # at the start of the line to make a header. Here’s an example of how each type looks:

Subtext Discord Formatting

Just type (-#) at the start of the line. It’s essential to include a space after the #. For example:

Subtext works like headers. For it to work, the (—#) must appear at the very start of the line.

Make Masked Links In Discord

Text is easily turnable to a link you can click. If you’re looking for a way to do it, text must be written inside brackets, and the URL must be pasted inside. Here’s an example of what it looks like:

Discord Lists In Messages

Bullet lists are easily creatable by simply typing each line with “-” or “*”. As an example of what it looks like:

To make two different lists, an empty space must be added before or after these symbols. As an example of what it looks like:

Create Code Blocks In Discord

Code blocks are creatable by simply adding these symbols before and after your text: “`.”

For multi-line code blocks, wrap the text in triple backticks (“`), like this:

Discord Block Quotes Messages

To create a block quote, start a line with “>”. Here’s an example:

Note: Add a space between the “>” symbol and your text!

This is a block quote. In order to add multiple lines of block quotes, start using “>>>” for the first line of the message, as shown (This is a multi-line block quote) here:

Discord Spoilers For Messages

You can mark text as a spoiler by surrounding it with “||”.

Note: Spoilers won’t work inside a code block.
