Magneto takes the role of a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals, becoming the 14th hero to join the roster. Known by his other names—Max Eisenhardt and Erik Lehnsherr—he’s famously dubbed the “Master of Magnetism.” With unmatched control over electromagnetic energy, Magneto bends metal to his will, shields his allies, and delivers crushing blows to his foes.
In-game, Magneto thrives in a protective role while still packing a punch. His toolkit is ideal for holding the front line, thanks to his ability to form metal barriers and harness energy to boost his offense and defense. He’s especially effective in holding objectives and supporting teammates under pressure.
Magneto’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
Magneto’s skillset is all about defense and ranged power. Whether he’s throwing out metal-infused blasts or putting up barriers to block incoming fire, he’s built to support his squad and punish overconfident enemies.
Primary Attack – Iron Volley
He launches slow-moving magnetic blasts that explode either on contact or after flying a set distance. These explosions deal area damage, making them great for crowd control.
Secondary Attack – Mag-Cannon
This ability lets him hurl a metal projectile that scales in strength based on how many iron rings he’s gathered (up to three). When fully powered, the shot not only hits harder but also pushes enemies back.
Metal Bulwark
A protective shield he can cast on a teammate, absorbing a solid chunk of damage for a brief period—perfect for saving someone in a tight spot.
Iron Bulwark
The same protective barrier, but this one is self-cast. It shares a cooldown with Metal Bulwark, so you’ll need to decide who needs shielding most.
Metallic Curtain
This mobile shield glides forward, soaking up enemy projectiles as it moves. It doesn’t have a health bar but runs off a resource meter, so positioning and timing are key.
Magnetic Descent
Hold the jump key to float down gently from high places. It’s especially handy for safely dropping into the action or avoiding fall damage after using his ultimate.
Ultimate Ability – Meteor M
Magneto levitates and begins to forge a massive metal meteor above him. The longer he charges it, the more powerful it becomes. While charging, he absorbs enemy fire, funneling that energy directly into the meteor to boost its destructive power before hurling it at the enemy.
Team-Up Ability – Metallic Fusion (with Scarlet Witch)
When teamed with Scarlet Witch, she channels her Chaos Energy into Magneto, empowering his greatsword. With this boost, Magneto gains access to powerful melee strikes that can tear through enemies with raw force.
