Loki: Who is Loki in Marvel Rivals?

Loki, the seventh hero to join Marvel Rivals, takes on the role of a “Strategist” in the game. Famously known as the God of Mischief, Loki Laufeyson brings a mix of illusion magic, trickery, and support abilities to the battlefield. True to his character, he’s all about throwing enemies off balance while helping his teammates in subtle but impactful ways.
In-game, Loki shines when it comes to confusing opponents and staying alive. His toolkit lets him create fake copies of himself, heal allies, and escape danger with ease. One of his standout features is his ability to shapeshift into enemy heroes, adding another layer to his unpredictable playstyle.
Loki’s Ability Breakdown in Marvel Rivals
Loki’s entire playstyle revolves around controlling the field with illusions, healing over time, and strategic repositioning. Here’s what he can do:
Primary Attack – Mystical Missile
This basic attack sends out a magical projectile that not only damages foes but also heals nearby allies. When it lands, it leaves behind a small area that continues healing and hurting depending on who’s standing in it.
Secondary Attack – Deception
Loki drops a decoy at his current location and goes invisible. While cloaked, he gradually heals himself. The effect ends when he makes an attack.
Abilities
- Doppelganger: Loki creates a clone at a selected location. This illusion mimics his basic attack and stays active for up to a minute.
- Devious Exchange: Lets Loki instantly swap places with one of his illusions, giving him an easy escape or quick reposition.
- Regeneration Domain: Loki casts a rune that generates a healing zone for himself and his illusions. It also converts a portion of incoming damage into healing for nearby teammates.
- Backstab: If Loki strikes an enemy from behind, the attack deals extra damage—perfect for sneaky plays and catching enemies off guard.
Ultimate – God of Mischief
Loki temporarily transforms into any hero currently in the match, copying their full kit—except for their Team-up abilities. If the hero he transforms into has an Ultimate that changes form, Loki’s Devious Exchange duration gets extended until the effect ends, giving him more flexibility during fights.
Team-Up Ability – Laufeyson Reborn (with Thor and Hela)
If Hela finishes off an enemy, Loki and Thor can be instantly revived if they’re down. If they’re still alive, they each get a bonus of 50 health. There’s a brief delay of 1.5 seconds before it activates.
With his blend of mobility, misdirection, and healing, Loki is one of the trickiest heroes to predict—and one of the hardest to counter. For players who enjoy outsmarting their opponents and supporting their team in creative ways, Loki is an ideal pick in Marvel Rivals.
