In Teamfight Tactics, “interest” is the bonus gold you earn at the start of each round based on how much gold you held onto from the previous one. It’s pretty simple: for every 10 gold you’ve saved, you get an extra 1 gold, up to a maximum of 5 gold. This calculation happens at the end of each round, so your savings directly impact your bonus.

Even though you can keep stacking gold beyond 50, the extra gold from interest caps out at 5. So once you hit 50 gold, you won’t earn any more interest no matter how much you save. That said, saving more than 50 can still be worth it — having a bigger gold pile makes it easier to level up your Little Legend later on.

Tips for Earning the Most Interest in Teamfight Tactics

As we mentioned, the key to getting the most interest is saving gold in chunks of 10, up to 50 gold. That way, you’ll always be getting the maximum 5 gold bonus every round. A lot of early-game strategies focus on spending less, holding onto cheap units, and avoiding unnecessary rolls.

Another way to boost your income is by building a team around champions with economy traits or ones that can generate extra gold. Picking augments that help your economy can also make a big difference. Lastly, going on either a win streak or a loss streak — five rounds in a row — will give you bonus gold too, helping you save up faster.
