On the Valorant map Bind, just about every spot has an official name—except for that little room between B-short and B-window. Players in the community started calling it “Hookah” because it kind of looks like a hookah lounge. While it’s not an official label, “Hookah” has stuck around long enough that anyone who’s played a decent amount of competitive Valorant knows exactly where it is.

From a tactical standpoint, Hookah is one of the most important spots to control on Bind. For attackers, holding Hookah opens up opportunities to push onto B-site or apply pressure. On the flip side, defenders who hold that space can shut down enemy advances and keep control of B-site.

So, how do you deal with a Hookah rush as a defender?

Dealing with a full 5-man rush through Hookah can be tough, especially in lower ranks—but it’s definitely doable. The key is using utility effectively.

Agents like Sage and Cypher are great for this. Sage can throw down slows to stall the enemy push, or throw up a wall to block it entirely. Cypher can lay out tripwires and activate cages as the enemies come in, revealing their positions and disorienting them. Done right, he can potentially take out the whole squad in one go.

Smokes are also super useful here. A Brimstone smoke combined with a Molotov can really mess up a rushing team—especially if they’re not watching their step. Another smart move is dropping a smoke, hiding in a corner nearby, and catching enemies off guard as they come through.
