What is an act in Valorant?
In Valorant, an act refers to a competitive period. Each act introduces new content, such as potential characters, maps, and a new battle pass complete with fresh rewards. When an act concludes, the associated battle pass also expires.
What makes acts significant?
As previously noted, acts help prevent the game from feeling repetitive. Upon the conclusion of an act, players receive an act badge on their player card, reflecting their rank. Ranks are subsequently reset, requiring players to undertake placement matches to determine their new starting rank for the upcoming act, typically aligning closely with their previous act’s rank, though minor adjustments may occur.
A season consists of three acts, each lasting approximately two months and including three to five patches and updates. Following the end of the third act in a season, a cinematic video is released, contributing to the Valorant lore.
As for the total number of acts released, the game is currently on its 14th act, with the 15th act anticipated soon. The current act is the second of the fifth episode titled ‘Dimension’, which features a new map called Pearl.
