What’s up Guardians, and welcome back. Warlocks school is back in session today as we dive into an unstoppable new Prismatic build. This build offers lightning-fast Ability regeneration with all of those abilities getting overcharged and overpowered, giving you the ability to flatten large groups of ads or just a single target.

Exotic Helmet: Fallen Sunstar

What’s most impressive about this build is that it does not feature an exotic class item, but instead includes the Fallen Sunstar exotic helmet. This exotic comes with the ionic conductor intrinsic trait, which gives a massive increase to our ability uptime. In a lot of ways, this helmet mirrors the abilities of the Nazarec’s Sin but is attuned towards Arc energies.

Ionic Traces

Ionic traces move faster and grant double the amount of ability energy. Each ionic trace will grant 25% bonus melee and grenade energy with 30% bonus class ability energy, and that’s off of every single ionic trace. So just going off of Ionic traces alone, it would only take us four to fully regenerate our grenade and melee, and we have every intention of generating a ton of these.

Team Synergy

Each time we collect an ionic trace, we’ll provide 10% bonus ability energy to all nearby allies, increasing the uptime of their grenade, melee, and class abilities, making this a perfect build to use at any level of in-game content. The Fallen Sunstar has been a dominating exotic when used with Arc subclasses, but now that it can be combined with prismatic, its effectiveness has substantially improved, giving us one of the most dominant PVE warlock builds with unparalleled levels of ability uptime.

Enhanced Prismatic Build

This Prismatic build and our current seasonal artifact will be able to generate more Ionic traces than ever before. We’ll have a ton of damage resistance and a never-ending supply of Health regeneration while giving our abilities and weapons bonus damage.

Aspects and Abilities

When it comes to our prismatic subclass, we’re using the Lightning Surge and Feed the Void aspects along with Storm grenades, Arcane Needles, and Phoenix Dive. Feed the Void will trigger Devour whenever we defeat enemies with any of our abilities. When Devour is active, final blows will grant as much as 30% bonus grenade energy while fully restoring our health bar.

Lightning Surge and Storm Grenades

Lightning Surge is going to give us a powerful melee attack that strikes enemies with a hurling blast of lightning energy. This causes them to become jolted, which will stun overload champions. Each enemy that we defeat with this is going to generate Devour and trigger our health restoration.

Instant Ability Regeneration

Both our Lightning Surge and our Storm grenades will create several Ionic traces, giving us almost instant regeneration of our abilities. Because of Devour, we’ll have even faster regeneration going towards our grenades. Since we’ll be able to spam our Storm grenades, we have elected to go with a facet of dominance so that our grenade will apply jolt.

Increasing Ionic Traces

This will increase their overall effectiveness whenever used against larger groups of enemies and let us stun overload champions with both our melee and our grenade. To increase our intake of Ionic traces, we are using a combination of the Facet of Awakening fragment and the Elemental Siphon artifact mod. Facet of Awakening will cause Ionic traces to be created whenever rapidly defeating targets with any of our weapons or abilities.

Generating Elemental Pickups

Defeating enemies with other energy types will create elemental pickups of that specific energy. In the case of Strand, it will create Tangles. Elemental Siphon is going to generate Ionic traces, but it’s going to create them whenever we rapidly defeat enemies with kinetic or Arc weapons, giving us a tremendous increase to the regeneration rate of all three of our abilities.

Super and Transcendence Energy

With increased ability uptime, we’ll be able to easily gain our super and transcendence energy even faster. With a combination of Stormtrance and Transcendency, we’re going to have the equivalent of two roaming supers, giving us a lot of advantages when it comes to crowd control. We’re also using the Facet of Honor, so when we pick up Ionic traces or other elemental pickups, we will generate bonus transcendence energy.

Transference Artifact Mod

Since we are using the transference artifact mod, we’ll have a 10% increase to ability damage whenever transcendence is active. With Arcane Needles, we will have up to three Lightning Surges, but I’d like to reserve at least one of these to be used as an actual Arcane Needle.

Arcane Needles and Debuffs

Arcane Needles cause enemies to become unraveled, causing additional damage over time, and they will spread out to nearby enemies once those targets are defeated. Once those targets are defeated, they’ll create a Tangle, giving us another tool to use against our enemies. Striking enemies with Arcane Needles and any other Strand or Stasis debuff will give our Arc abilities a 10% increase in damage since we are using the Facet of Courage.

Maximizing Ability Synergy

So that’s going to make it even more beneficial to target an enemy with an Arcane Needle before engaging with any of our other abilities. To give our Tangles some added flare, we are using the Threaded Blast artifact mod. Whenever we destroy any Tangle with a Strand weapon, they’ll have a larger, more damaging explosion.

Weapon Choices

We plan on using at least one Strand weapon at all times with this build to ensure that we can always apply a Strand debuff. I recommend using a Strand weapon that comes with Slice; this will reduce your enemy’s damage output by 40%. If you decide to go the route of Stasis weapons, you want to have Chill Clip instead.

Health Regeneration and Damage Resistance

From a survival standpoint, Devour is going to keep us loaded up on Health regeneration. If that goes away, Phoenix Dive will be able to step in to provide us and nearby allies with Cure. We are also using the Galvanic Armor artifact mod, so whenever we are Amplified, we will have a 30% damage resistance bonus.

Becoming Amplified

We’ll be able to become Amplified whenever defeating enemies with our Lightning Surge and our Storm grenades. Because of the Facet of Purpose, whenever we pick up an orb, we will also become Amplified. When we’re Amplified, we have faster movement, faster reload speed, and better weapon handling.

Radiant Orbs and Grenade Enhancements

This synergizes very nicely with the Radiant Orbs artifact mod because whenever we collect those orbs, we’ll also gain Radiance. While we’re Radiant, all of our weapons will deal 20% extra damage and they’ll have the ability to pierce barrier shields. We’re also using the Shield Crush artifact mod, so whenever we are Amplified or Radiant, our grenades will have a 25% increase to their base regeneration rate and a 25% increase in damage.

Maximizing Grenade Damage

That’s going to bring us up to a total of 45% bonus damage whenever our grenades are used against enemies debuffed by Darkness and 55% bonus damage when our grenades are used during transcendence against Darkness-debuffed enemies. This is a lot of bonus damage added to an ability that’s already getting a massive boost to its uptime.

Armor Priorities

When it comes to the armor that we want to use with this build, our main priority has got to be resilience, and beyond that, it’s going to be recovery. This way, we take less damage and our Health regeneration kicks in faster, which are both necessary components for success in end-game content.

Ability Regeneration

Since we have so much Ability regeneration already happening, you’ll find it to be not nearly as necessary to have tier 10 stats between your discipline or strength. When it comes to our choice in armor mods, our goal is to generate orbs so that we can maintain Radiance and Amplified.

Armor Mods

We’re using helmet Siphon, Firepower, and Reaper mods to generate orbs. We also want to help generate as much extra grenade energy as we can, so we’re using Bomber, Intervation, and Impact Induction to generate bonus grenade energy. We have Recuperation to give us a secondary source of regenerating our health, and we have Ashes to Assets to help generate more super energy off of all of those grenade final blows.

Special Finisher and Weapon Choices

You’ll also notice that we have Special Finisher, but this is only when we are heavily relying on our special weapons. This is going to convert armor charges into special ammo whenever we perform a finisher with at least three armor charges available. This brings me to the best weapons to use with this build. The one exotic that has the most synergy with this build will be the Coldheart Trace Rifle, and that’s because it generates Ionic traces whenever used.

Maximizing Ionic Traces

At maximum damage, there is a 2-second cooldown between these Ionic traces, but all of them will be affected by the Fallen Sunstar, granting us a ton of bonus melee, grenade, and ability energy. I also find this build pairs nicely with Exotics like Trinity Ghoul, Centrifuse, Riskrunner, and Thunderlord.

Weapon Synergy

Symmetry is also a really strong option right now since scout rifles can stun Unstoppable Champions. When it comes to Legendary Weapons, sidearms like The Keening or Indebted Kindness are excellent choices. Arc weapons in general with Eddy Current and Volt Shot offer some of the best synergy with this build.

Heavy Weapon Choices

As mentioned earlier, Darkness debuffs triggered by Slice or Chill Clip are great to have. For heavy options, 21% Delirium is fantastic with Overflow and Killing Tally, which absolutely shreds. The Wendigo is still a great source for optimal damage, and Cloudstrike remains a strong choice.

Versatility of the Prismatic Build

This Prismatic build has so much range and versatility; it can be used aggressively in close-quarter combat but is just as effective in ranged combat. It will have tremendous success in almost every in-game activity. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Fallen Sunstar in combination with the prismatic subclass, now is the time.
