Battle for Azeroth is nearing its inevitable end and the time for players to get prepared for Shadowlands, the next expansion, ticks down. This naturally means that the possibility of finishing some tasks and obtaining certain unique rewards lessens as well. These prizes will become difficult or even impossible to obtain with the release of the pre-patch and the actual expansion. We’ve gathered all the information about everything you should accomplish in the Battle of Azeroth before the time runs out.
When does Shadowlands launch?
As of the day of writing, there is no concrete information on when the new expansion or even the pre-patch actually launches. All we know is that the developers plan on releasing both of them until the end of the year 2020. Moreover, pre-patch usually launches a few months before the actual full-scale release. In the light of recent events, it could be safely assumed that players have at least several more months to finish all the business they have left in-game.
Update: Shadowlands pre-patch should launch on the 30th of September, while the full-scale release is planned on the 27th of October.
What is going to become unavailable after the pre-patch launch?
By gathering currently available information, we’ve listed every known thing that is going to become unobtainable by the players after the pre-patch releases below. These things are tied to the actual Battle for Azeroth content, thus requiring your primary attention.
With the pre-patch release, players will lose any chance of getting achievements 1 (▶️ Link to Buy) and Cutting Edge (▶️Link to Buy EU Realms)(▶️Link to Buy US Realms) obtained after beating N’Zoth the Corruptor, the final boss of Ny’Alotha, the Waking City on heroic and epic difficulty levels accordingly.
– Epic+ Dungeons
Along with the end of Battle for Azeroth, the Fourth season of epic dungeons will also be completed. Players will lose the possibility of obtaining some seasonal prizes, such as Battle for Azeroth Keystone Conqueror: Season 4 achievement and “The Awakened” title (▶️Link to Buy). These are granted for clearing all actual dungeons at level 10 or higher. For beating all these instances at difficulty 15 or higher, you will be granted the Master (▶️Link to Buy)variation of the previously mentioned achievement as well as a special mount – Awakened Mindborer.
– Operation “Mechagon”
As the pre-patch reaches live servers, one of the Operation Mechagon achievements, Hertz Locker (▶️Link to Buy), which is obtained by completing the instance at the hard difficulty in a single attempt and without dying will no longer be obtainable. In addition, the legendary version of Vision of Perfection grants will become unobtainable as well.
Shadowlands is really soon, are you prepared?
As the Battle for Azeroth is nearing its end, the current PvP season should be finished just as well. The players will no longer be eligible to earn specific PvP rewards, such as titles, weapons, elite equipment sets with special color schemes, a cloak, and a tabard. These rewards will not be opened simultaneously. As your rating increases after winning battles on ranked arenas or emerging victorious at the battlegrounds, you obtain more and more rewards.
Corruption Effects :
N’zoth’s corruption effects will stop affecting all items at the moment of the pre-Shadowlands update reaches live servers.
Rank 4 Azerite Essences
Along with the pre-patch release, players will lose their last chance of obtaining a rank 4 Azerite Essence, since this purely cosmetic prestigious prize is granted for playing in the corresponding content. Another achievement, perhaps the most difficult one, Phenomenal Cosmic Power will also become unachievable. In order to get that, you’d need to obtain all legendary rank 4 azerite essences for your role from update 8.2, which requires completing all epic+ dungeons at 15 difficulty level or higher of the expansion and reaching 2400 points in PvP rating. By fulfilling all the necessary requirements, you will also be granted the title “Azeroth’s Champion”.
Horrific Visions of N’zoth
The same day as the pre-patch launches, yet another prestigious achievement is going to become unattainable as well. We’re talking about Mad World(▶️Link to Buy), which already requires tremendous effort to obtain. Possessors of this achievement are by no means heroes. In order to get it too, you need to completely walk through the horrific visions of Orgrimmar and Stormwind in a single attempt while being the sole member of the run. Moreover, you would also have to have all five nameless masks active. Only after following these instructions, you will be granted a special title – “The Faceless One”
Due to the complete rework of the mount skill tree in Shadowlands, the Artisan Riding skill with some 280% increase in movement speed will be removed from the game. Instead, players will have a 310% movement speed increase from the beginning. Thus, obtaining The Right Stuff achievement will no longer be possible as it will be moved to the “Legacy” tab.
As the Battle for Azeroth reaches its finish line, the current Fighters Guild season will also come to an end. However, the developers haven’t confirmed that all current achievements belonging to this type of content will be moved to the “Legacy” tab, and will be replaced by the new ones, as it has always been before. Don’t forget to complete the secondary questline of a murder investigation. Reaching its finale awards you with a crocolisk Bruce (▶️Link to Buy) | (▶️Link to Buy Brawlers Guild)
Character development achievements
The moment the pre-patch reaches live servers, the achievements for reaching levels 50/60/70/80/85/90/100/110/120 will be flattened and turned into Legacy-type. They will be moved to a respective tab:
Be strong, facing new expansion!
What is going to become unavailable after the Shadowlands launch?
We’ve tried to include every known thing, to the point of writing of this article, that is going to become unobtainable after the full-scale Shadowlands launch. It should commence sometime after the pre-patch releases, therefore players will have some more time to get these tasks done. Some of them will be much easier to accomplish at a later date.
Before the expansion comes out, players will be able to obtain a Spawn of Vexiona for the quest Lost Flight after taking down the final boss of Ny’alotha, the Waking City, N’zoth the corruptor at heroic or higher difficulty level. You will earn an unusual mount for completing this task – item=174862(▶️Link to Buy).
What is going to become difficult to obtain after the Shadowlands launch?
Naturally, a significant part of Battle for Azeroth content will remain available to go through in Shadowlands and other following expansions, taking care of some tasks and obtaining certain rewards is, by no means, will become more difficult. The following is a list of such things, known at the moment of writing.
With the Shadowlands launch, the probability of obtaining a special mount, Glacial Tidestorm(▶️Link to Buy) and Ny’alotha Allseer(▶️Link to Buy EU Realms)(▶️Link to Buy US Realms) after taking down Lady Jaina Proudmoore and N’zoth the Corruptor accordingly at epic difficulty level will be decreased from currently guaranteed 100% to a low-chance 1%. Well, the same has happened to all such mounts of the previous expansions. Therefore it will be a hundred times more difficult to obtain these mounts. Keep in mind that after taking down the boss, the raid gets 2 such creatures, which makes the probability all 200%.
The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur
After the Shadowlands pre-patch will launch, the Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur(▶️Link to Buy 5000 gold) will no longer be sold by Tricky Nick in Boralus and Talutu in Dazar’alor. Therefore, players will no longer be capable of getting the reins for 5000000 gold. According to the developers’ reassurance, the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might occasionally become available in the Black Market, so it will still be obtainable. However, it will be a challenge to find it in the market and spend more than just five million. As an additional reward for becoming a proud possessor of this mount, a Conspicuous Consumption achievement is granted. This achievement will obtain those who managed to get it before the end of Battle for Azeroth as well as those who would find it later at the Black Market.
Group Content :
– Island Expeditions and Warfronts
As of now, the developers do not have any plans on removing the group content from Battle for Azeroth, so players will be able to go through Island Expeditions and Warfronts anytime later. However, due to a lack of applicants to do the old tasks in the future, it will obviously become harder and longer to find a required number of players and gather the necessary amount of resources. The hunt for rare creatures will not be as easy as it is, because the faction controlling a certain Warfront will change much less regularly.
This means that it will become more difficult to get rewards of all kinds. Especially the prizes that are rich in the Island Expeditions, such as mounts, pets, toys, achievements, transmog items, some quest-starting little items, heirlooms, and useful things like Draught of Ten Lands(▶️Link to Buy Island Expeditions)
– War Campaign
Even though quests in the War Campaign are designed to be completed solo, it will become more difficult to progress the story. Some stages send the player to dungeons and raids. And you wouldn’t find players for these instances with the same ease. After finishing the campaign, players will obtain several toys for, let’s say, taking Saurfang’s side, as well as Bloodflank Charge for the Horde characters and Ironclad Frostclaw for the Alliance characters for completing the campaign as both factions – Two Sides to Every Tale (▶️Link to Buy War Campaign)
You don’t want to work on these achievements now, but you will regret it the moment they become unobtainable!
– Raids and Dungeons achievements
The difficulty of completing achievements from the “Hero’s Glory” and the “Raider’s Glory” dungeons and raids in Battle for Azeroth is going to ascend for the players. Therefore, despite the fact that it should be theoretically easier to go through them thanks to class changes and level flattering, the process of obtaining them will actually slow down.
As a reward for completing these achievements, the following mounts will be granted:
The process of going through dungeons and raids is going to become more difficult. Hence, obtaining transmog items, pets, and other rewards won’t be as simple. In particular in regard to the epic mounts such as Underrot Crawg Harness, Mummified Raptor Skull, and Sharkbait’s Favorite Crackers. You simply will not be able to visit this mode at the same frequency.
– Horrific Visions of N’zoth
While the Horrific Visions of N’zoth will remain available to be completed solo, as it is now, gathering a group of people to make things easier is going to become more problematic. Thus, it will not become easier to fulfill the countless tasks: achievements, transmog items, mounts, pets, toys, weapon chants.
– Open-world PvP
In the 8.3 update an item “N’lyeth, Sliver of N’Zoth” has been introduced. It allows the player to turn the character into a Shath’Yar and becoming capable of killing other characters or NPCs of any faction. In addition, the player gains a feat of strength Servant of N’Zoth and a corresponding title – a Servant of N’Zoth. Since these rewards require slaying 10 characters of the opposing faction in Kul-Tiras or Zandalari islands and slaying 10 more characters of the friendly faction without dying, it will grow incredibly difficult for players to find the prey later on. Don’t forget that the prey also has to have the war more on!
Also, it won’t get easier to obtain other open-world PvP-achievements, such as Conqueror of Azeroth for both factions, since the number of participants trying to complete these tasks will grow lesser. These meta-achievements also grant a special title, Conqueror of Azeroth and a special mount, “Conqueror’s Scythemaw”.
Before the Battle for Azeroth expansion comes to an end, a special buff is active in the game, the Winds of Wisdom. It increases the experience gain rate by 100%. Needless to say, it speeds up the leveling process tremendously. It might come wise utilizing this bonus before the Shadowlands arrive in a few cases:
Along with changing the leveling process in Shadowlands, Death Knights and Demon Hunters will start the game not at 55 and 98 levels accordingly, but at level 8, which corresponds to current level 20. Hence, previously created characters will have a higher level than characters, created after the rework.
The experience bonus also increases the speed of obtaining traditional armor sets.
Besides, thanks to this bonus, you will be capable of developing high-level characters to use them for additional attempts to get rare or seasonal rewards such as Big Love Rocket.
